Analysis of Energy Consumption and Network Lifetime for Wireless Sensor Networks

무선센서 네트워크에서 센서 노드의 에너지 소비와 네트워크 수명 분석

Energy saving mechanism is very important in a battery-powered wireless sensor networks. In this paper we derived the energy consumption model of each sensor node and the conditions of proving the QoS requirements. Through the analysis of energy consumption of each sensor node, we suggest the method to prolong lifetime of WSNs.

배터리에 의해 동작하는 무선 센서로 이루어진 네트워크에서 에너지를 절약하는 메커니즘이 매우 중요하다. 본 연구에서는 클러스터 기반의 무선 센서 네트워크에서 각 센서 노드에서의 에너지 소모에 대한 모델링을 통해 에너지를 절약하면서 각 노드에서 요구되는 QoS를 인식하는 MAC 프로토콜의 조건에 대해 분석하였다. 제안된 방식을 통하여 기존에 제안된 프로토콜들의 장단점을 분석한 후에 이를 통해 무선 네트워크의 수명을 연장할 수 있는 방안을 제안하였다.
