Contents Discovery in UPnP Using Semantic Annotations

시맨틱 어노테이션을 이용한 UPnP 콘텐츠 검색 방법

The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) specification enables sharing of diverse multimedia contents among different devices. Contents discovered via UPnP are organized using directory hierarchy. If there are multiple sources of content providers and if the directory becomes large, managing and searching of the shared contents can be difficult. In this paper, an enhanced contents searching method is proposed by using semantic annotations. UPnP metadata is expanded to include semantic annotations to enable natural contents searching.

UPnP(Universal Plug & Play) 표준은 여러 이종기기들 사이에 다양한 멀티미디어 콘텐츠를 공유할 수 있게 한다. UPnP 기기가 제공하는 콘텐츠에 대한 정보 찾기는 디렉터리 체계로 구성 되어있으며 여러 소스(source)를 통해 공유된 콘텐츠가 방대할 경우 사용자가 찾고자 하는 콘텐츠를 쉽게 찾을 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 메타데이터를 확장하여 시맨틱 어노테이션(semantic annotation)을 이용해 자연어 기반의 향상된 콘텐츠 검색 기능을 제공하는 방법을 제시한다.
