초록

TWDM PON (time and wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network)은 다수의 파장을 사용하여 상향 및 하향으로 패킷을 전송한다. 상향 전송시에 하나의 파장을 사용하는 경우에는 미사용 대역폭을 각 ONU (optical network unit)가 공평하게 분배를 받는다. 반면 다수의 파장을 전송에 사용하면 각 파장별로 미사용된 대역폭이 서로 다르므로 미사용 대역폭을 각 ONU에게 공평하게 분배하는데 어려움이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 다수의 파장을 사용하는 TWDM PON에서의 미사용 대역폭 분배에 대한 새로운 방법을 제안한다.

TWDM PON (time and wavelength division multiplexed passive optical network) uses multiple wavelengths to transmit packets upstream and downstream. In upstream transmission, if we use only one wavelength, the unused bandwidth is equally distributed to each ONU (optical network unit). In contrast, when multiple wavelengths are used, the unused remainders of wavelengths are different from each other. Therefore, it is difficult to fairly allocate the unused bandwidth to each ONU. This paper proposes a new method to allocate the unused bandwidth to each ONU in TWDM PON which uses multiple wavelengths.
