Abstract

Wordwide there are great efforts to enhance the efficiency of industrial motors In this paper the contribution or im-proved magnetic materials on the increase of efficiency for a given design will be discussed It will be shown that the efficiency is not only influenced by the specific iron losses but also by the magnetizing behaviour of electrical steels. Results of model calcula-tions for industrial motors with 1.1kW, 11kW and 110kW will be presented.
