Abstract

The use of electromagnetic retarders is widespread in heavy vehicle and train industry The electromagnet type and permanent magnet type retarders are used are used at a variety of operating forces to reduce speeds. this paper describes the use of the fi- nite element method to the design of the permanent magnet type retarder And the equation of motion was used fr the analysis of the deceleration process of the conductive plat The suitable permanent magnet arrangements and the yoke constructions are made clear in the obtained numerical results.
