The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of growth rate on the biosynthesis of tylosin in Streptomyces fradiae. In order to elucidate the relation between the growth rate and the tylosin formation rate, the activities of enzymes involved in oxaloacetate metabolism were determined using cells grown at different growth rates in chemostats. As the results, it was found that the specific rate of tylosin formation(
