초록

각종 구조물의 내구연한 동안에 이루어지는 계획, 설계, 시공, 유지관리 등 여러 단계의 건설실무에서 계산도구의 활용은 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 전자계산 분야에서 지난 40여년 동안에 일어난 주요한 변화를 살펴보고, 미래의 발전 전망에 대하여 알아보고자 하는 본 기고문은 'The Seventh International Conference on Computing in Civil and Building Engineering(ICCBE-VII)'에서 카네기멜론대학의 Steven J. Fenves 교수가 발표한 논문을 번역한 것이다.
