Stress, Emotional Intelligence, Academic Achievement of Nursing Students

Abstract

The purpose of the this study was to identify the relationship between stress, emotional intelligence and academic achievement of nursing students. Self-report questionnaire was given to 157 nursing students(3rd, 4th grade) in Korea and K university students were completed the survey. The data were collected November 24th to December 12th. SPSS WIN 18.0. program was used to analyze data and descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficients were used to analyse the relationship. Stress were significantly correlations with emotional intelligence and academic achievement in nursing students. These findings indicate that to decrease stress and to increase academic achievement of nursing students, it is necessary to development and investigate a program for managing stress among nursing students.

본 연구는 간호대학생의 감성지능과 스트레스, 학업성취도와의 관계를 파악하고 이들 간의 관계를 규명하는 서술적 상관관계 연구이다. 자료 수집은 P시의 K대학에 재학 중인 3, 4학년 간호대학생 157명을 대상으로 설문지를 이용하여 2014년 11월 24일부터 12월 12일까지 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 SPSS WIN 18.0을 이용하여 실수와 백분율, 평균 및 표준편차, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients로 분석하였다. 연구결과, 간호대학생의 스트레스와 감성지능, 학업성취도는 유의한 상관관계를 보여 스트레스가 높을수록 감성지능이 낮은 것으로 나타났다(r=-.190, p=.017). 따라서 간호대학생의 스트레스를 감소시킬 수 있는 프로그램 개발 및 검증을 제언한다.
