Five Cases of Severe Alopecia Areata Treated with Gagamhwajung-hwan

가감화중환으로 호전된 중증 원형탈모 치험 5례

Abstract

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the effectiveness of Gagamhwajung-hwan in five severe alopecia areata patients. Methods : This case study was conducted for five severe alopecia areata patients who visited Korean Medicine Clinic. Herbal medicine(Gagamhwajung-hwan) was prescribed to all five patients. Improvements of patients were evaluated by photographs and SALT(Severity of alopecia tool) scale. Results : According to photographs, hair loss of each patient was completely improved. SALT scale was also decreased in all five patients. Conclusions : This study shows the possibility of using Gagamhwajung-hwan to treat severe alopecia areata.
