Abstract

In recent years, domestic construction industry has faced the issue of the aging of construction workers due to a lack of young skilled workers, So this issue has caused the industry to rely on foreign workers significantly. If the lack of workers persists, domestic construction industry will inevitably rely on foreign workers for a supply of skilled workers. Against this backdrop, this study suggested a plan for training domestic construction skilled workers, and measures to manage construction skilled workers. First, it is recommended to attract general workers and trainees from construction skills education institutes to work in the construction industry, and to train them into skilled workers through basic and professional skills education. In addition, this study suggests measures to develop the existing unskilled workers into skilled workers through professional skills education for each work type, and measures to continuously maintain and manage these skilled workers once they are developed.
