A Case Study on the Treatment of the Essential Tremor

Abstract

Essential tremor deteriorated by tension or stress remains incurable, therefore finding an effective alternative medicine treatment is needed. After finding painful responses at related-acupoint and/or -tender point, the quartz Chimsband was attached. Improvement of tremor was evaluated using visual analogue scale (VAS) and the effectiveness was supported by normalization of the accompanying neuropsychiatric symptoms and tachycardia. A 32-year-old patient who was unable to walk alone due to body tremor walked immediately after treatment. Following 1 month, VAS was reduced from 9 to 2 and pulse decreased. A 67-year-old patient, who was unable to drink water due to the head tremor, drank after treatment. Following 1 week, she stopped insomnia drug. After 3 months, VAS decreased to 3. In patients with essential tremor, all symptoms were improved by the quartz Chimsband. Therefore, quartz Chimsband might be considered as an effective therapy for the essential tremor.
