Abstract
This study investigated the sales status of all-in-one padding products for dogs and conducted a survey of companion dog owners who owned the products to analyze product usage, experience, and purchasing behavior. Product-related data were collected online (Google), and a survey was conducted with 50 companion dog owners at offline locations, such as pet grooming salons and pet cafes. The analysis results are presented below. All-in-one padding products for dogs come in various sizes from XS to 5XL. Even within the same size, dimensional variations were large, and it was analyzed that size consistency between products was insufficient. The products' fabric composition was predominantly composed of nylon and polyester. While some products clearly labeled their outer fabric, lining, and filling according to the 'KS K 0210' standard, many products did not adhere to this standard, leaving their material information unclear. Most products are recommended to wash cold with water, use a laundry net, and use neutral detergent. High-temperature washing, using a dryer, and using alkaline detergents are prohibited. Online purchases (46%) were the most common method of purchase, with a high proportion of respondents using both online and offline purchases (30%). The overwhelming majority of respondents said they wore the products for 'physical health (cold protection/maintaining body temperature)' at 82%. When making a purchase decision, the most important factors considered were design (46%), price (26%), material and brand (10%), and washability (6%). 66% of respondents rated care information, including fabric material and washing instructions, as 'average or higher.' Regarding washing methods, 80% of respondents reported using a laundry net and washing in a washing machine. The most common washing frequency, at 40%, was 'about once a month.' Others, at 20%, only washed once during the winter season, while 6% said they washed after every wear, revealing a clear difference in consumer perception.
