Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the influence of Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality types, job stress, and resilience on job embeddedness among oncology ward nurses. Methods: Data were collected from 129 nurses working in oncology wards at a national cancer hospital between January 21 and February 25, 2025. Structured questionnaires included MBTI personality types, job stress, resilience, job embeddedness and general characteristics. Results: Most oncology ward nurses were identified as introverted, sensing, and feeling types according to the MBTI. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that job stress was the most significant predictor of job embeddedness, followed by resilience. The model accounted for 30.3% of the variance in job embeddedness. MBTI personality types did not have significant effect on job embeddedness. Conclusion: To strengthen job embeddedness among oncology ward nurses, training programs should prioritize strategies to alleviate job stress and enhance resilience. Furthermore, cancer hospitals should develop organizational initiatives that cultivate a supportive and engaging work environment, thereby promoting stronger commitment to cancer care.
