This study explores an experimental approach to generating fashion designs using fine-tuned generative AI, focusing on the Comme des Garçons collection. The rapid advancement of AI technology has introduced new creative possibilities to the fashion industry. Particularly, fine-tuning techniques allow existing AI models to be retrained to align with a specific brand's design DNA. This research attempts to generate AI-based fashion designs reflecting the key elements of Comme des Garçons. The evaluation results indicate that while AI successfully capture the brand's silhouette and details, it struggls to accurately represent colors and materials. Moreover, limitations in color expression and technical constraints in the garment production process were identified. This study highlights the potential for AI to inherit and creatively develop the identity of designer brands. The findings suggest that AI can complement and extend the creative capacity of designers, contributing to digital innovation within the fashion industry. Future research should deeper explore the interactions between AI design and the actual garment production process. By demonstrating the creative potential of fine-tuned AI in fashion design, this study underscores the promising role of AI in reshaping design methodologies and supporting designers in the era of digital transformation.

The purposes of this study were to investigate eco-friendly attitudes and clothing management behaviors of university students, and to identify the differences in clothing management behaviors based on eco-friendly attitudes. The subjects were 300 male and female university students and the research method was a survey. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, x² test, factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA and Duncan's multiple range test. The results were as follows. First, two factors (eco-friendly awareness and eco-friendly behavior) were derived based on eco-friendly attitudes. Second, college students showed low levels of efficient and sustainable clothing management behaviors in terms of usage, laundry, and storage behaviors. They had especially insufficient skills about laundry but were highly aware of the need for clothing management. Third, there were no significant differences in clothing management behaviors among subgroups classified by eco-friendly attitude, except for a few laundry and storage factors. This study concluded that clear guidelines for clothing management behavior must be established and to educational programs that can be applied to real life must be developed in order to implement a rational and sustainable clothing lifestyle.

This study aims to reconstruct a prototype of the po robe to support the creation of a standard portrait of King Geunchogo of Baekje. Drawing upon the royal clothing culture of the Baekje period and the symbolic identity of King Geunchogo, the research examines key design elements of the robe, including its structure, color, materials, and decorative patterns. Particular emphasis is placed on the characteristics of a purple, wide-sleeved fabric interwoven with gold thread, and is analyzed within its historical and cultural context. A systematic, step-by-step methodology for the prototype's reconstruction is presented. Motifs referenced in this study are derived from recovered burial artifacts from the Hanseong period of Baekje, including the ornamented sword from Yongwon-ri Tomb No. 1, the belt from Naseong-ri Tomb No. 4, and the belt from Suchon-ri Tomb No. 1. These artifacts informed the development of textile design samples characterized by geometric and elongated patterns. The finalized textile designs were then applied to the reconstruction of King Geunchogo's robe. Natural dyeing techniques using madder root and sappanwood were employed to produce historically accurate purple dyes. This process led to the establishment of a refined color system for purple, which was subsequently incorporated into the textile production. Based on the finalized textile designs, schematic diagrams of the robe prototype were developed. In the Baekje royal court, clothing served not only as functional attire but also as a potent symbol of political authority and cultural expression. Through the reconstruction of King Geunchogo's royal robe, this study offers deeper insight into the historical and cultural significance of Baekje court dress. Moreover, the creation of a standardized portrait contributes both to the commemoration of a historical figure and to the expansion of contemporary cultural content grounded in Baekje heritage. It is anticipated that this research will serve as a foundational resource for future scholarship on ancient East Asian costume history and cultural heritage.

The home beauty device market is experiencing rapid growth, propelled by an aging population and advancements in beauty technology. This study developed a wearable EMS mask prototype using a flexible MWCNT-coating pad with low-frequency currents. To address the inconveniences associated with traditional handheld devices, a flexible EMS mask utilizing MWCNT coating technology was designed. A flexible surface conductive pad coated with MWCNT conductive paste was created and tailored to fit facial contours. The research methodology included the fabrication of the conductive pad using MWCNT paste, evaluation of its conductivity and durability, and design adjustments to match facial muscle shapes. Spandex fabric was selected for optimal wearability and TPU film was determined to be suitable to allow for stable MWCNT printing. The MWCNT-based conductive pad demonstrated superior conductivity compared to existing pads. This research lays the foundation for the development of beauty devices featuring effective muscle stimulation and lifting effects through an EMS mask prototype, highlighting the need for further product development and user evaluation studies in the future.

The fashion industry is evolving through the convergence of fashion and 3D IT technology, expanding into new markets with innovative digital products. This study aims to explore the potential of IT-based fashion products that incorporate traditional Korean culture, specifically focusing on the Hahoetal of Andong, to contribute to the revitalization of local cultural brands. For the research process, the study first conducted a literature review and analysis of the external and internal characteristics of the nine traditional Hahoetal types. Based on these findings, symbolic and stylized motifs were developed and organized into six textile prints. Utilizing the 3D virtual clothing system CLO 3D, the study applied these patterns with various structural and stylistic modifications to modern shirt designs . The digital garments were then visualized as complete 3D fashion products. As a result, six virtual shirts were produced, each featuring a unique textile print derived from the Hahoetal motifs harmonized with contemporary shirt designs. These outcomes demonstrate the potential of integrating traditional Korean cultural assets with digital fashion technologies to create high value-added products. The study confirms that such design approaches can meaningfully contribute to the development of local brands by enhancing the cultural identity through wearable forms. Furthermore, this research suggests the continued need for the creative reinterpretation of Korea's traditional heritage as a foundation for modern cultural product development in the global fashion landscape.

This study aims to develop multifunctional industrial safety gloves that simultaneously provide vibration reduction and cut resistance to prevent vibration syndrome and cutting injuries that frequently occur in industrial settings. Composite materials with vibration-damping and cut-resistant properties were developed, and five prototype gloves were produced. Vibration reduction performance was evaluated based on the ISO 10819 (2013) test method, measuring TRM and TRH values. Cut resistance was analyzed using the EN 388 standard. For wearability evaluation, five industrial workers were surveyed utilizing a 5-point Likert scale to assess grip comfort, fit, thermal comfort, and design satisfaction. The results showed a TRM of 0.773 and a TRH of 0.668. The TRM met the ISO 10819 standard (≤0.9), and the TRH was close to the target threshold (≤0.6). In terms of cut resistance, gloves using LCP composite yarn achieved the highest D-level performance. The wearablitiy evaluation indicated high satisfaction, with average scores exceeding 4.44, especially in grip comfort and hand fit. The developed safety gloves effectively combine vibration reduction and cut resistance functions, while receiving positive evaluations in both performance and wearability. These findings suggest a strong potential for the gloves to contribute to improved worker safety and enhanced competitiveness in the multifunctional protective gear market.

The climate crisis and the accelerating digital transformation have posed critical challenges to the contemporary fashion industry, notably in the domains of sustainability and digital communication. In response, this study aims to analyze the social media content of Marine Serre, a sustainable fashion designer brand, and identify the distinct characteristics of sustainable fashion content. After collecting 311 fashion contents posted from January 1, 2022 to November 30, 2024, they were classified based on five sustainability attributes (environmental, economic, ethical, traditional, and originality) derived from previous studies. Each post was coded in three layers of 'design-content-format' to analyze the frequency and pattern in a qualitative and quantitative mixing method. As a result of the study, (1) environmentality accounted for the highest proportion, and the material sustainability centered on redesign, information-oriented text, and static image formats were repeated. (2) The economic type combined multi-function design, practical information, and refined image format. (3) As for the ethics type, the text-based narrative emphasizing the social value narrative stood out. (4) The tradition type induced immersion by combining handcrafted design with emotional phrase and video. (5) The original type realized a high-level aesthetics with an image and emotional message emphasizing artistic experimentation and scarcity. Overall, the consistent combination structure between 'design-content-form' was repeated by type, confirming that the brand strategically visualized sustainable values. This study will provide academic data for the systematization of fashion content that previous studies have not captured to grasp practical implications for sustainable practice, a paradigm in the modern fashion industry, and aspects of sustainable fashion culture formed in social media. However, there are limitations in generalization and securing intra-code reliability through a single brand and single coder analysis.

This study aims to classify digital customizing types and analyze the customizing processes, sizing systems, and design components of domestic women's suits customizing services on online platforms. Based on the analyses, the study proposes 3D digital suit designs using avatar-based virtual fitting. The research methods are as follows. First, the digital customizing concepts and types are analyzed through a theoretical review. Second, case studies of domestic and international online suit customizing platforms from January 2022 to January 2024 were conducted to examine the digital customizing processes, sizing systems, and design components. Third, based on the findings, a digital customized suit design process for Korean women and 3D digital fashion designs using avatar virtual fitting are developed. The results of this study are as follows. First, digital customizing types are categorized into three types: individualization through combinational composition, customization through selective adjustment, and creation through assembly modules. Second, the digital customizing process consists of four stages: style selection, fabric selection, option selection, and size selection. The sizing system follows a four-step smart sizing approach, involving input of basic body information (gender, height, weight, age), ready-to-wear size data, body shape characteristics (abdomen, bust, hips), resulting in recommended measurements (bust, waist, hips, sleeve length, and garment length). Design components are selected in the following order: fit style, closure style, lapel style, hem style, and pocket style. Third, a 3D digital design for the customized suit is proposed, demonstrating how 3D digital technology can enable rapid design visualization, allow real-time modification without physical sample production, and supports eco-friendly customization through avatar-based virtual fitting. This study suggests practical applications of digital technologies in customizing design and is expected to contribute to the advancement of the domestic online customizing fashion industry by promoting digital customizing services and 3D virtual fitting technologies.

This study aims to systematically examine the research trends in digital fashion design using CLO 3D by analyzing 119 articles published in KCI-registered academic journals in South Korea between (add month here) 2012 and March 2025. Based on the literature review method, the study categorizes and quantitatively analyzes the articles according to research period, topic, subfields, application purposes, and journal distribution. The results show a steady increase in CLO 3D-related research since 2012, with a significant surge occuring after 2020 due to the acceleration of digital transformation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Early studies primarily focused on design implementation and visual simulation; however, recent research topics have diversified to include comparisons between virtual and real garment fitting, body shape-based pattern development, and digital restoration of traditional costumes. Among all articles, fashion design accounted for the largest proportion (44.5%), followed by virtual fitting analysis (21.8%), body-based design (9.2%), and digital reconstruction (8.4%). In contrast, pattern development (5%) and textile design (3.4%) were relatively underrepresented, indicating that CLO 3D's visualization features have been predominantly applied in design-centered studies. In addition, interdisciplinary research, such as CLO 3D's use in education, emotional image representation, user interface analysis, and pressure analysis was also identified, with educational applications being particularly prominent. Subfield analysis revealed high proportions of studies on traditional-inspired design and specialized or functional clothing, reflecting socio-cultural demands. This study provides an overview of academic applications of CLO 3D and emphasizes the need for balanced future research and interdisciplinary expansion within the digital fashion industry.

This study aims to apply French philosopher Michel Foucault's concept of "heterotopia" to digital fashion design, with the goal of realizing a new fashion space and its associated expression methods that blend reality and virtuality in fashion design. Digital fashion enables formative experiments that transcend physical constraints, and when combined with the metaverse, NFTs, and 3D virtual clothing, expands consumption and identity structures through NFT-based ownership, consumption, and the expression of immaterial identity through metaverse avatars. Through literature research, Foucault's concept of heterotopia and the spatial concepts and formative characteristics evident in contemporary digital fashion were analyzed. In design research, a digital fashion design process was established, and digital fashion works reflecting these concepts were planned and produced. The research confirmed that digital fashion can express fluid forms and free textures through immaterial aspects that are difficult to implement in reality, and that new forms of fashion economy and identity realization are possible through the metaverse and digital twin platforms. In particular, the digital fashion design process was systematized into five stages: concept derivation, formative research, digital pattern development, 3D simulation and visualization, and interaction application. Digital fashion functions as a space and medium for creative form realization that transcends physical limitations, and provides a creative foundation that integrates theory and practice to reinterpret the spatiality and identity expression of fashion through the concept of heterotopia. In the future, further practical expansion is anticipated through integration with NFT and AR/VR technologies.

With the rapid advancement of smart technologies and wearable devices, smart textiles have become a major focus in both academia and industry. This study systematically reviews recent research trends and explores future directions. A total of 973 studies published between 2014 and 2024 were selected from the Web of Science and analyzed using CiteSpace for trend, keyword frequency, and cluster analysis. The results highlight progress in material innovation, functionality enhancement, the application of conductive fibers, smart sensors, and flexible electronics. In particular, the evolution of flexible electronics has supported the development of long-term health monitoring and home healthcare solutions. Core research areas include smart material performance, fiber composite development, and wearable device optimization. Keyword and cluster analyses show that smart textiles are mainly applied in medical health, athletic performance, and fashion design. Smart luminescent clothing integrates electronics into polymer optical fibers (POF), enhancing aesthetics and functionality, while dynamically adapting to ambient sound. This study offers a systematic review and trend analysis, providing theoretical support for advancing smart textiles across industries.

As the pet-related industry grows, the fashion industry is also actively advancing into the pet fashion market in response to this trend. This study analyzed the characteristics of pet fashion products of 18 domestic and foreign fashion companies that have entered the pet fashion industry, focusing on items sold, prices, materials, design features, size designation, and measurement parts. In the results of examining companies selling pet-related products, two out of 12 overseas fashion companies were selling only pet fashion products, and 10 companies were selling both pet supplies and pet clothing. On the other hand, only two out of six domestic fashion companies were selling pet supplies, while four companies were selling only pet clothing. In addition, the price range of pet fashion products varied from less than 50,000 won for overseas fashion brands to pet clothing costing over 1.2 million won, with most domestic brands being composed of small varieties and mid to low-priced products. Looking at the design characteristics of pet fashion products, the application of the brand's unique identity to pet clothing products, unique colors, logos, brand-specific details, and auxiliary materials were reflected. Lastly, there were a total of 11 size designations for overseas brands, and three to nine size designations were used for each brand. Domestic fashion companies had a total of nine size designations, and most companies used two to four size designations. This study aims to provide basic data to fashion company planners who wish to enter the pet fashion field and researchers who wish to study pet fashion.
