We have designed conductive transparent filters using a low-emissivity coating such as [dielectric|Ag|dielectric] for display applications. The design is the repetition of [$TiO_{2}$|Ti|Ag |$TiO_{2}$] to increase the transmittance in the visible and decrease the transmittance in the near IR. The conductive transparent filters are deposited by a radio frequency(RF) magnetron sputtering system. The optical, structural and electrical properties of the filters were investigated and the optical spectra are compared with simulated spectra. The thickness of the deposited Ag films is above 13 ㎚ to increase the conductivity and that of $TiO_{2}$ films is 24 ㎚ to increase the transmittance in the visible range. Ti blockers are employed to prevent the Ag films from being oxidized by an oxygen gas during the reactive sputtering process. Also, it is shown that the thicker Ti film is necessary as the period increases. Finally, a filter with repetition of the basic structure three times shows the better cut-off near infrared(NIR) and the sheet resistance as low as 2Ω/□ which is enough to shield an unnecessary electromagnetic waves for a display panel.
The phtoelectrochemical porperties of $Nb_2O_5$, $Sb_2O_3$ and $V_2O_5$ doped and pure $SrTiO_3$ ceramic electodes were investigated. Shapes of I-V and I-λ characteristics of the pure $SrTiO_3$ ceramic electrode are similar to those of SrTiO3 single crystal electorde ; the anodic current strats at -0.9V (vs. Ag/AgCI) in 1 N-NaOH aqueous solution and the photoresponse appears at a wavelength of about 390nm and the quantum efficiency is about 3.5% at wavelength of 390nm under 0.5V vs. Ag/AgCl. Photocurrents of $Nb_2O_5$, $Sb_2O_3$ and $V_2O_5$ doped electrodes and $V_2O_5$ doped ceramic electrode appears at wavelength of 390nm and 500nm respectively.
The effects of dopant Al2O3 and surface roughness on the photoelectrochemical conversion of TiO2 ceramic electrodes were investigated. The photocurrent increased with increasing the amount of dopant Al2O3 up to 0.1wt% and 0.05wt% in the specimens reduced at 700$^{\circ}C$ and 800$^{\circ}C$, respectively, and then decreased. However, the photoresponse appeared around 415 nm, which very closely corresponds to the energy band gap of TiO2(∼3.0eV), regardless of reduction temperature and the amount of Al2O3. And the photocurrent increased with increasing surface roughness in the undoped TiO2 ceramic electrode.
Ag intermediated $TiO_2$ films were deposited by RF and DC magnetron sputtering and then vacuum annealed at 100, 200 and $300^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes to investigate the effect of annealing temperature on the structural and optical properties of the films. For all depositions, the thickness of the $TiO_2$ and Ag films were kept constant at 24 and 15 nm by controlling the deposition time. As-deposited $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ trilayer films have a weak crystalline and an optical reflectance in a near infrared wavelength region of 77.8%, while the films annealed at $300^{\circ}C$ show the polycrystalline structure and an increased mean optical reflectance of 80.4%. From the experimental results, it can be concluded that increasing the annealing temperature enhanced the structural and optical properties of the $TiO_2/Ag/TiO_2$ films.
The solubility of $TiO_2$ in $NaF-CaF_2-BaF_2$ ternary eutectic melts was investigated at the temperature range of $1025-1150^{\circ}C$. The least-squares equation was obtained from the relationship between the reciprocal temperature and the natural logarithm of the titanium concentration in the melts saturated with $TiO_2$. The corresponding partial molar enthalpy of dissolution of $TiO_2$ was found to be 188 kJ/mol. The titanium saturation concentration was 3.73 wt% at $1100^{\circ}C$. From the titanium concentration change with the added amount of $TiO_2$ at different holding time after a final stirring, it was found that not only complete dissolution of $TiO_2$ but also enough sedimentation of excessive $TiO_2$ should be guaranteed to obtain more reliable solubility data. The holding time of 10 h was found to be enough for the excessive $TiO_2$ particles to settle down in our experimental conditions. It is noteworthy that in case of adding $TiO_2$ in excess of its solubility, the $Ba_{1.12}(Ti_8O_{16})$ phase was observed at the lower and bottom of the solidified salt ingots.
In this study, the adsorption performance of vapor phase VOCs under dry conditions was evaluated by using two metal oxides, $TiO_2$ powder and $Al_2O_3$ powder. BET analysis and ammonia in-situ FT-IR analysis were used to analyze specific surface area and surface acid site. As a result, $TiO_2$ powder and $Al_2O_3$ powder had a specific surface area of $317.6m^2\;g^{-1}$ and $64m^2\;g^{-1}$, respectively. In the case of $TiO_2$ powder, many acid sites were observed on the surface. As a result of evaluating the vapor phase VOCs adsorption performance using two metal oxide powders, $TiO_2$ powder having a relatively large specific surface area and a large number of acid sites exhibited relatively good adsorption performance. In particular, it is considered that the specific surface area directly affects the adsorption performance, and further study on the effect of the acid site is required. Based on the $TiO_2$ exhibited excellent adsorption performance, it manufactured into various forms of honeycomb, hollow fiber and disc. As a result, the adsorption performance was lower than that of the powder, but it is advantageous in view of applicability. In addition, it was confirmed that the disc adsorbent having excellent thermal durability due to the characteristics of the manufacturing process stably maintains adsorption performance even at a high temperature desorption process several times.
Cr2O3 doped Pb(Zr0.525 Ti0.475)O3 piezoelectric ceramics were prepared from reagent grade oxide mixture, PbO, ZrO2, TiO2 and Cr2O3. Piezoelectric and aging properties of specimens were measured for various additions of Cr2O3. Generally, it has been known that aging rate decreased with Cr2O3 addition by stabilizing the domain wall. But hysteresis loops showed that the domain destabilization was occurred at high electric field (larger than 10KV/cm). In smaller additions of Cr2O3 (0-0.2mol%), aging rate increased and microcracks were created with increasing poling filed due to increasing internal stress. In larger additions of Cr2O3(0.4∼0.6mol%), aging rate decreased with increasing poling field.

The formation mechanism and photocatalytic properties of a multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWCNT)/$TiO_2$-based nanotube (TNTs) composite are investigated. The CNT/TNT composite is synthesized via a solution chemical route. It is confirmed that this 1-D nanotube composite has a core-shell nanotubular structure, where the TNT surrounds the CNT core. The photocatalytic activity investigated based on the methylene blue degradation test is superior to that of with pure TNT. The CNTs play two important roles in enhancing the photocatalytic activity. One is to act as a template to form the core-shell structure while titanate nanosheets are converted into nanotubes. The other is to act as an electron reservoir that facilitates charge separation and electron transfer from the TNT, thus decreasing the electron-hole recombination efficiency.
Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCN) were integrated in $TiO_2$ film and the beneficial influence on the dyesensitized solar cells in terms of improved photocurrent was studied in the light of static J-V characteristics obtained both under illumination and in the dark, photocurrent transients, IPCE spectra and impedance spectra. Compared with a solar cell without SWCN, it is established that the photocurrent density of the modified cell increases at all applied potentials. The enhanced photocurrent density is correlated with the augmented concentration of electrons in the conduction band of $TiO_2$ and with increased electrical conductivity. Explanations are additionally corroborated with the help of SEM, Raman spectra and dye-desorption measurements.

TiO₂nanoparticles were synthesized using the metallorganic chemical vapor deposition process. Particles with and without metal ion dopants were obtained. X-ray photoelectron and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopic measurements confirmed the stoichiometry of the TiO₂nanoparticles. X-ray diffraction patterns showed a polycrystalline anatase structure of TiO₂. Transmission electron microscopy revealed that these particles are of nanoscale dimensions. Exact particle size and size distribution analyses were carried out by dynamic light scattering. The average particle size was determined to be 22 nm. The nanosize particles provided large surface area for photocatalysis and a large number of free surface-charge carriers, which are crucial for the enhancement of photocatalytic activity. To improve the photocatalytic activity, metal ions, including transition metal ions $(Pd^{2+},\;Pt^{4+},\;Fe^{3+})$ and lanthanide ion $(Nd^{3+})$ were added to pure TiO₂nanoparticles. The effects of dopants on photocatalytic kinetics were investigated by the degradation of 2-chlorophenol under an ultraviolet light source. The results showed that the TiO₂nanoparticles with the metal ion dopants have higher photocatalytic activity than undoped TiO₂. The $Nd^{3+}$ ion of these dopant metal ions showed the highest catalytic activity. The difference in the photocatalytic activity with different dopants is related to the different ionic radii of the dopants.
