  • 본 연구에서는 제일원리 계산을 이용하여 $Si(100)/SiO_2$ 계면 내부에서 발생하는 point defect들의 거동에 대해 살펴보았다. Defect 계산에 앞서 안정한 $Si/SiO_2$ 계면을 찾아보았고 찾은 계면을 바탕으로 계면에서 point defect의 formation energy를 계산해 보았고 이를 통해 Si defect의 경우 Si층 쪽 보다는 $SiO_2$ 층에서, 그리고 계면 내부 보다는 계면 경계 근처에서 발생할 가능성이 높음을 보였다.

  • 고형오구의 분산안정화 작용은 고체 입자의 계면에 흡착한 계면활성제에 의한 전기적 반발력과 입체적 보호작용에 영향을 받게 된다. 특히 현재 시판세제의 조성에서 비이온계 계면활성제의 혼합이 점차 중요시되는 이때 입체적 보호작용에 의한 고형오구의 분산안정성은 의류제품의 세척성 제고에 좋은 정보가 되리라 생각된다. 따라서 본 연구는 시판되고 있는 세제 대부분이 음-비이온계 계면활성제의 혼합으로 되어 있는 점을 고려하여 음이온 계면활성제로서 D5S(sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate), 비이온계 계면활성계 NPE(nonyl phenol polyoxyethylene ether, EO$_{10}$) 혼합용액에서 음이온과 비이온계 계면활성제의 입자에의 흡착과 고형오구의 안정성을 관련시켜 고찰하였다.   • 이종재료의 열전달문제 수치해석시 추가적으로 만족시켜야 하는 계면경계조건들의 존재와 계면경계로 인한 불연속면의 처리는 근사함수의 구성 뿐만 아니라 수치기법의 개발 자체를 어렵게 만든다. 본 논문에서는 계면경계의 불연속성을 모델링하는 특수한 함수를 포함하고 계면경계조건을 항상 만족시킬 수 있는 근사함수를 구성하고, 계면경계문제의 강형식을 직접 이산화하며 고속으로 해를 계산할 수 있는 이동최소제곱 차분법을 제시한다. 계면경계조건이 매입된 이동최소제곱 차분법으로 이종재료의 열전달문제를 해석한 결과, 높은 정확성과 효율성을 갖는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

The Interface Adhesion of Diamond Thin Film Grown on Si by EACVD (EACVD로 Si 위에 성장한 다이아몬드 박막의 계면 접합강도)

  • 필라멘트와 Si 기판 사이의 기전력을 20, 80, 140, 200V로 증가시키면서 EACVD에 의하여 성장된 다이아몬드 박막에 대하여 다이아몬드/Si 계면분석 및 계면강도를 측정하였다. 주사형전자현미경(SEM), 고분해능투과형전자현미경(HRTEM), 오제이전자분석기(AES)에 의해 계면상태를 분석한 결과, 기전력 증가에 따라 활성탄화수소 이온(CmHn-)에너지가 증가되어져 CmHn-이 Siso로 침투(Impringement)가 증가되고 침투된 높은 에너지의 CmHn-이 Si과 화학결합하여 생성되는 SiC층 깊이 및 농도 분포도 증가된다. 풀 시험(Pull test)에 의한 계면강도 측정 결과, SiC층 깊이 및 농도분포가 증가할수록 계면강도가 증가하였다. 관찰된 파면과 파면의 X-선 메핑 결과 및 HRTEM과 AES에 의한 분석 결과, 기전력 증가에 따라 공극율이 적고 치밀한 다이아몬드 박막이 성장된다. 그리고 생성되는 SiC층 농도 및 깊이 분포가 증가함에 따라 다이아몬드/Si 계면이 강화되고, 상대적으로 파괴는 다이아몬드/Si 계면이 아닌 SiC층이나 Si 내부에서 발생된다. 결국, 기전력을 증가하여 활성탄화수소이온의 에너지를 증가함으로써 계면강도가 우수하며 공극율이 매우 적고 치밀한 다이아몬드 박막을 성장할 수 있다.

Measurement of Isoelectric Point of Betaine Zwitterionic Surfactant by QCM(Quartz Crystal Microbalance) (QCM(Quartz Crystal Microbalance)을 이용한 Betaine 양쪽성 계면활성제의 등전점 측정)

  • A zwitterionic surfactant shows not only detergency but also mildness effect since it shows characteristics of a nonionic or an anionic surfactant above an isoelectric point, while showing characteristics of a cationic surfactant below an isoelectric point. Therefore, a zwitterionic surfactant can serve as a dual function surfactant by a single molecule through the interconversion of cleaning and softening effects depending on pH variations of the aqueous solution. In this study, physical properties of betaine surfactant such as CMC, surface tension, interfacial tension, contact angle and viscosity were measured and phase behavior study was performed. Also dual function characteristics of betaine zwitterionic surfactant were investigated by measuring an isoelectric point using QCM(quartz crystal microbalance) and zeta potential measurement. The CMC of betaine surfactant was near $10^{-4}mol/L$ and the surface tension at CMC was about 32 mN/m. The interfacial tension between 1 wt% aqueous solution and n-decane measured by spinning drop tensiometer at pH 2~10 resulted in an increase in interfacial tension until pH 5 and a decrease with pH after 5 and equilibration time showed the similar trend with an increase in pH. The isoelectric point of betaine surfactant measured by QCM experiment was found to exist between 3.0 and 3.3, which is the same as the result determined by zeta potential measurement.

Synthesis and Properties of N-Acyl Glycine Used Triglyceride (트리글리세라이드를 이용한 N-아실 글리신의 합성 및 물성)

  • Amino acid based surfactants as protein-surfactants is eco-friendly compound. So, amino acid based surfactants is expected as next generation surfactants. Amino acid based surfactants has high biodegradability, low toxicity and surface active properties. In this experiment, amino acid based surfactants, cocoyl glycine, was synthesized by glycine and triglyceride such as coconut oil and palm oil. And it was tested the surface tension, emulsifying properties, foam stability and HLB value. The synthesized surfactants was confirmed by FT-IR. Surface tension of surfactants synthesized by coconut oil on diluted aqueous solutions of surfactants was 31.2 dyne/cm at $1.0{\times}10^{-4}mol/L$. Surface tension of surfactants synthesized by palm oil on the diluted aqueous solutions of surfactants was 42.1 dyne/cm at $3.2{\times}10^{-5}mol/L$. Foam stability measured the foam height as time passed. Initial foam height of surfactants synthesized by coconut oil is 14.5 cm, and 10.7 cm after five minutes. Initial foam height of surfactants synthesized by palm oil is 3.0 cm, and 2.8 cm after five minutes. Foam height of surfactants synthesized by coconut oil was higher than surfactants synthesized by palm oil. But foam stability of surfactants synthesized by palm oil was better than surfactants synthesized by coconut oil. The emulsifying properties of synthesized surfactants are observed in benzene and soybean oil and emulsifying properties in organic solvent is better than in soybean oil.

Relationship between Interfacial Tension and Solubility of Diesel Fuel in Surfactant Solutions (계면활성제용액-경유 간 계면장력과 용해도 상관관계 연구)

  • Solubility of oil contaminants in surfactant solutions plays an important role in selecting a suitable surfactant type for soil remediation. Solubility measurement procedures consist of making an equilibrium between surfactant solution and oil, solvent extraction using dichloromethane, and condensation for gas chromatography analysis. Solubility measurement requires time consumption and lots of materials. Interfacial tension is the contracting force between two immiscible liquids, surfactant solution and oil, and also closely related to solubility of oil. This study established a relationship between the interfacial tension and solubility of diesel fuel in surfactant solution and suggested a quick method to estimate solubility of oil in a surfactant solution by measuring its interfacial tension. The results of this study showed that the solubility of diesel fuel in surfactant solution was exponentially increased by decreasing the interfacial tension between two immiscible liquids. The solubility of diesel fuel was significantly increased under the interfacial tension conditions below 1 dyne/cm, while the solubility change was not apparent under the interfacial tension conditions beyond 5 dyne/cm. Interfacial tension measurements may allow us to quickly select an efficient surfactant and its concentration for soil remediation.

Interfacial Reaction between seal and metal interconnect and effets of protecting layer in planar type SOFC stack (평판형 SOFC 스택의 밀봉재와 금속 분리판의 계면반응 및 보호층 효과)

  • 평판형 고체산화물 연료전지 스택의 고온 밀봉 구조에 대하여 설명하고 스택 운전 후 사후 분석을 통하여 밀봉재와 금속 분리판의 계면반응에 대하여 고찰하였다. 대표적인 고온 밀봉재인 Barium-Silicate 계 결정화 유리와 Fe-Cr 계 금속 분리판은 스택의 작동온도인 $700{\sim}850^{\circ}C$ 에서 고온 반응을 통하여 계면에 반응생성물을 형성하는 것이 확인되었다. 이러한 계면반응은 장기 운전시 SOFC 스택 성능 저하의 원인이 되고, 열 싸이클(작동온도${\leftrightarrow}$상온)을 가하면 계면반응 생성물이 delamination 되어 밀봉구조가 파괴되어 수명을 단축시키게 된다. 계면반응은 Fe-Cr 계 금속 분리판의 산화물인 Cr 산화물, Fe 산화물이 밀봉유리 소재와 반응을 일으키는 것이 주요 원인으로 판명되었다. SOFC 스택에서 열 싸이클시 계면반응에 의하여 기밀도가 감소하는 현상이 확인되었으며, 밀봉 구조의 어느 부분에서 계면반응이 진행되는지 관찰하였다. 이러한 계면반응을 막기 위해서는 금속 분리판과 밀봉유리 사이에 계면반응을 억제하는 보호층을 형성하는 방법이 효과적이다. 본 연구에서는 보호층으로서 밀봉유리 및 Fe-Cr 계 금속 분리판과의 계면반응성이 낮고 열팽창 계수가 비슷한 Yttria Stabilized Zirconia 층을 APS(Atmospheric Plasma Spray) 공정을 이용하여 형성하였다. 밀봉유리/YSZ 보호층/금속분리판은 gas-tight 한 밀봉 구조를 형성하였으며, YSZ 보호층은 밀봉유리와 Fe-Cr 계 금속 분리판 소재와 계면반응을 효과적으로 억제하는 것이 확인되었다.

Electronic Structures and Magnetism at the Interfaces of Rocksalt Structured Half-metallic NaN and CaN (암염구조를 가지는 반쪽금속 CaN과 NaN의 계면 전자구조에 관한 연구)

  • Magnetism at the interfaces of rocksalt structured half-metals, NaN and CaN were investigated by use of the first-principles band calculations. The electronic structures for the simple interface and mixed interface systems were calculated by the FLAPW (full-potential linearized augmented plane wave) method. From the calculated number of electrons in muffin-tin spheres of each atom, we found, for the simple interface system, that the magnetic moment of the N atom in the CaN (NaN) side is increased (decreased) compared to those of inner N atoms. For the mixed interface system, the magnetic moments of the interface N atoms are similar to the averaged value for the inner N atoms in CaN and NaN side. Among four interface N atoms, the N atom connected to Na atoms in the upper and down layers has the largest magnetic moment and that connected to Ca atoms has the smallest. The number of p electrons in each N atom and the calculated density of states explain well the above situation.

Effect of Additives on Solubilization of Sulfur Compounds in the Crude Oil by Tergitol Series Nonionic Surfactants (Tergitol 계열 비이온 계면활성제 시스템에서 첨가제가 원유의 황화합물 가용화에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the effects of additives such as ionic surfactant and cosurfactant were studied on the solubilization of sulfur compounds contained in the crude oil by Tergitol series nonionic surfactants. It was found that the addition of an ionic surfactant such as sodium oleate, potassium oleate, CTAB and DTAB did not enhance solubilization capacity of Tergitol series nonionic surfactant. On the other hand, the addition of a long-chain alcohol as a cosurfactant increased the solubilization of sulfur compounds in the crude oil. The effect of alcohol was found to become reduced with an increase in the amount of crude oil used mainly due to partitioning phenomena of an nonionic surfactant. The enhancement of solubilizing capacity of Tergitol series nonionic surfactant with addition of a cosurfactant was associated with a decrease in interfacial tension between crude oil and surfactant solution. The pH of Tergitol nonionic surfactant solution did not affect the solubilization of sulfur compounds. Finally, it was found that the growth of sulfur reducing microoganisms was not greatly affected by both addition of nonionic surfactant and cosurfactant.
