Liquid film Thickness Measurement for a Swirl Injector (스월 인젝터에서의 액막두께 측정에 관한 연구)

  • A specially designed in;ector using electric conductivity was used to measure the liquid film thickness exactly, The measurement conducted through the precise calibration, accuracy is demonstrated in comparison with the previous theory and the results using other measurement method. The variation of internal flow and stability are examined through the variation of liquid film thickness by the time. The tendency of liquid film thickness for geometric parameters was examined by the precise measurement.

  • By using liquid film thickness measurement the spray characteristics of swirl injector according to the geometric parameters were investigated in this paper. A specially designed injector having a variable backhole length, swirl chamber length, orifice length was used to measure the liquid film thickness. The spray characteristics of the injector were represented by mass flow rate according to the injection pressure, liquid film thickness in the lower orifice, spray cone angle.

  • This study aim to investigate the internal mixing flow characteristics by recess length of swirl coaxial injector for gas generator has propellant of Kerosene-LOx. Recess length is a very important element, have influence in spray stability and LOx post damage. The influence of recess length was analyzed by visualizing internal flow and measuring liquid film thickness and manifold pressures. Also, frequency characteristics were analyzed by liquid film thickness measurement with mixing time.

  • 본 연구에서는 회전체 표면상에 형성되는 액막의 두께를 측정하는 회전체 표 면상에 형성되는 액막의 두께를 측정하는 기술을 개발하고, 회전수와 유량변화에 따른 회전원판상의 액막거동 및 액막두께의 변동과 분열구조와의 관계를 규명함을 그 목적 으로 한다.

  • Many theoretical and experimental studies have been conducted to investigate elements of swirl injector hydrodynamics, such as variations in liquid film thickness or air core diameter. From these studies, some theoretical relationships have been established through an approximate analytical solution of flow hydrodynamics in a swirl nozzle. However, experimental studies on elements such as the stability of internal flow have not produced conclusive results. In this study, the stability of the internal flow under tangential entry conditions was examined by visualizing the formation of the air core in the swirl chamber and measuring the liquid film thickness in the orifice.

  • 실제의 흡기관에서는 단면이 일정한 직관이 아니며, 피스톤기관의 흡기관은 단면변화가 불가피하여 액적은 소성으로 인한 관벽과의 충돌로 부착하게 되고 액적부유율은 더욱 작게 된다는 D.A. Trayser, W.E. Ranz등의 보고가 있다. 또 보제행남들은 액막류의 발생이 유해배기 가스를 증가시키고 액막류의 감소는 기통사이의 연료분배의 불균일도를 저하시키므로 NOx, HC, CO가 크게 감소된다고 보고하였다. 이와같이 액막유의 존재는 각 실린더에 유입하는 연료의 질적차이를 가져오기 때문에 액막유를 분리제거하는 방법의 연구도 많이 이루어지고 있으나 아직 실용상에 문제가 많은 것으로 남아있다. 따라서 본 고에서는 이와같이 문제되고 있는 흡기관내 액막유동의 거동을 고찰하기 위하여 액막두께 변동을 측정하는 방법에 대하여 저자들이 사용하였던 방법과 그외 초음파를 이용한 액막두께 측정법을 소개하고자 한다.

Measurement and Analysis of Liquid Film Thickness of Pressure-Swirl Spray for Direct-Injection Gasoline-Engines (직접분사식 가솔린엔진용 고압 스월분무의 액막두께 측정 및 해석)

  • The liquid film thickness inside a pressure-swirl nozzle was measured, and then the measured liquid film thickness was compared with the results from previous empirical equations. The liquid film inside the nozzle was visualized using extended transparent nozzles and a microscopic imaging system, and then the measurement error was evaluated using optical geometry analysis. The high injection pressures up to 7MPa were adopted to simulate the injection conditions of the direct-injection spark-ignition engines. The totally different two injectors with different fuels, nozzle lengths, nozzle diameters and swirlers were utilized to obtain the comprehensive equations. The results showed that the liquid film thickness very slightly decreased at high injection pressures and the empirical equations overestimated the effect of injection pressure. Most of empirical equations did not include the effect of nozzle length and swirler angle, although it caused significant change in liquid film thickness. A new empirical equation was suggested based on the experimental results with the effects of fuel properties, injection pressure, nozzle diameter, nozzle length and swirler angle.
