고온초전도체 $SmBa_2Cu_2O_y$ 교류자화율 (AC susceptibility of the $high-T_c$ superconductor $SmBa_2Cu_2O_y$)

  • The policrystalline$SmBa_2$$Cu_2$$O_{y}$ was synthesized by the solid state reaction method. The dependence of AC susceptibility on temperature and applied ac field was studied. The critical temperature $T_{c}$ is about 92 K. As the ac field is increased, the slope and the value of real part of susceptibility become smaller and the peak position of imaginary part $T_{P}$ was shifted to a lower temperature with peak broadening. Using Bean's model, we determined intergrain critical current density $J_{c}$ and obtained $44 A/{cm}^2$ at 75 K. From the relation of the $J_{c}$ (T)=($1-T/T_{c}$ )$^{\beta}$ we obtained $\beta$=0.8 and found that the Josephson junction type of the $SmBa_2$$Cu_2$$O_{y}$ is SIS junction. The peak of the imaginary part shifts to higher temperature with increasing frequency, f. from Arrhenius plot, we obtained the activation energy of about 0.96 eV.

  • A mutual-inductance bridge type ac magnetic susceptibility measurement system was built in our laboratory. With addition of a phase-sensitive prestage, it was simple to implement and provided a high signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio.

Association of MDR1 Gene Polymorphisms with Susceptibility to Hepatocellular Carcinoma in the Chinese Population

  • Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the association of MDR1 gene polymorphisms with susceptibility to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: A total of 689 HCC patients and 680 cancer-free subjects were enrolled. Human MDR1 gene polymorphisms were investigated by created restriction site-polymerase chain reaction (CRS-PCR) and DNA sequencing methods. Multiple logistic regression models were applied to estimate the association between MDR1 gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to HCC. Results: We detected a novel c.4125A>C polymorphism and our findings suggested that this variant was significantly associated with susceptibility to HCC. A significantly increased susceptibility to HCC was noted in the homozygote comparison (CC versus AA: OR=1.621, 95% CI 1.143-2.300, ${\chi}^2$=7.4095, P=0.0065), recessive model (CC versus AC+AA: OR=1.625, 95% CI 1.167-2.264, ${\chi}^2$=8.3544, P=0.0039) and allele contrast (C versus A: OR=1.185, 95% CI 1.011-1.389, ${\chi}^2$=4.4046, P=0.0358). However, no significant increase was observed in the heterozygote comparison (AC versus AA: OR=0.995, 95% CI 0.794-1.248, ${\chi}^2$=0.0017, P=0.9672) and dominant model (CC+AC versus AA: OR=1.106, 95% CI 0.894-1.369, ${\chi}^2$=0.8560, P=0.3549). Conclusions: These findings suggest that the c.4125A>C polymorphism of the MDR1 gene might contribute to susceptibility to HCC in the Chinese population. Further work will be necessary to clarify the relationship between the c.4125A>C polymorphism and susceptibility to HCC on larger populations of diverse ethnicity.

전류에 의한 철단결정의 교류 자기감수율 : 전류 변화에 의한 효과 (AC susceptibility of current-carrying iron whiskers : Effect of current variation)

  • {100} 철단결정에 자기장을 가해주거나 혹은 자기장 없이 전류만을 변화 시킬 때의 교류 자기감수율에 관하여 연구 하였다. 작은 자기장과 전류를 철단결정에 걸어줄때, 단결정의 단연적 중앙끈처에는 정사각형 자구가 형성된다. 실험을 통하여 이 자구의 자기화 방향으로 자장을 걸어주변 걸어주는 전류크기와 전류방향의 영향을 받음을 보인다. 이 실험 결과는 전류에의해 중앙에 형성된 자구가 전류의 증감함에따라 변화하는 자구크기로 설명할 수 있다. 실험으로 측정된 자기강수율을 설명하기 위하여 미세 자기이론을 사용하였으며, energy 값을 구히기 위하여 간단한 model을 설정하였다. 이 model로부터 교류 자기감수율을 구할 수 있었으며, 이때 계산한 교류 자기감수율은 한 안정된 구조에서 다른 안정된 구조로 변화하는 전류를 제외한 거의 대부분 전류에 대하여 정량적으로 설명할 수 있었다.

산화철 나노입자의 브라운 운동에 대한 자기장 의존성 연구 (Magnetic Field Dependence of Brownian Motion in Iron-oxide Nanoparticles)

  • 유기 용매에 고르게 분산되어 있는 26 nm 크기의 산화철 나노입자를 사용하여 주파수에 따른 교류 자화율을 측정하였다. 자기장이 없는 조건에서 측정한 나노입자의 자화율은 Debye 완화 모델로 계산한 결과와 일치하였으며, 완화 주파수(relaxation frequency)는 370 Hz였다. 나노입자의 완화 주파수는 용매의 점성에 의한 브라운 운동(Brownian motion)의 완화 시간과 일치하였다. 브라운 운동에 의한 나노입자의 완화 주파수는 자기장의 세기에 따라 선형적으로 증가하는 특성을 보였다.

  • We have studied the magnetization in fields up to 1T at 5K, the saturation magnetization dependence on temperature and the temperature dependence of AC-susceptibility at very low fields (5mOe to 50mOe) of glassy $Fe_{91-x}Zr_{7}B_{2}Ni_{x}$ (x = 0, 5, 10, 15) alloys. The temperature dependence of the magnetization follows the predictions of spin wave excitations with long wavelengths. At zero Ni concentration there is a clear competition between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic interactions giving rise to spin-glass behaviour. The addition of Ni drastically modifies the magnetic properties: the antiferromagnetic exchange coupling is reduced and finally disappears, the spin wave stiffness increases from 39.5 to $87.3\;meV{\AA}^{2}$ and To increases from 230 K to 478 K. We develop a simple model to quantify the competing interactions and to relate the antiferromagnetically coupled Fe moments to the Ni concentration. We find that the initial susceptibility increases with increasing Ni content along with a decrease of the temperature dependence.
