요양시설 거주 노인의 에너지와 영양소 섭취 실태 및 식품선호도 조사 (Study on Energy and Nutrient Intake and Food Preference of the Elderly in Care Facilities)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to assess energy and nutritional intake and investigate the preference for food and cooking methods of the residents in elderly care facilities. Methods: Data were collected from 72 residents (10 males and 62 females) aged ${\geq}70$ years in elderly care facilities using questionnaires, food photographs for estimating dietary intake and records for daily physical activity. Results: Average age of the study participants was 85.0 years and 41, 36 and 8 had dementia, hypertension and diabetes mellitus, respectively. 15%, 65% and 19% of subjects were physically mobile, enervated, and immobile, respectively. Daily energy intake was 1360.2 kcal in men and 1378.0 kcal in women, which were 68.0% and 86.1% of the estimated energy requirement (EER) of dietary reference intake for Koreans (KDRI) for ${\geq}75$ year old individuals, respectively. Estimated energy expenditure (EEE) of subjects calculated using formula from KDRI was 1361.9 kcal and EER calculated using estimated daily physical activity (EDPA) was 1232.9 kcal. Energy intake and EEE from KDRI were higher than EER from EDPA. Dietary intake of dietary fiber, calcium, potassium, zinc, vitamin $B_2$, niacin, vitamin C were lower, and protein, phosphorous, iron, sodium, vitamin A, vitamin $B_1$, vitamin $B_6$, vitamin E were higher than the corresponding ones of KDRI. Subjects liked meats, fishes and shellfish, and fruits, while subjects disliked milk, seaweeds and salted fish and salted vegetables. Cooked rice, soybean paste soup, beef, cooked sliced radish strip, and yogurt were favorite foods, with steam being a favorite cooking method. Subjects considered nutrition as the most important factor for improving food service quality. Conclusions: Results of this study could be utilized for improving food-service for the residents in elderly care facilities, and provide a basis for setting reference intake of energy and nutrients of the elderly having very low activity levels.

부산지역 일부 노인들의 신체조성, 신체활동수준, 기초대사량 및 에너지소비량실태에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Body Composition, Physical Activity Level, Basal Metabolic Rate, and Daily Energy Expenditure of Elderly in Busan)

  • Objectives: The objectives of the study were to assess body composition, physical activity level (PAL), basal metabolic rate (BMR), and daily energy expenditure (DEE) and to examine associations between PAL and body composition, BMR, and DEE of elderly in Busan. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 226 elderly aged 65-93 years. Body composition was measured by Inbody 720. PAL was calculated by daily activity diary. BMR was calculated by Harris-Benedict (H-B) formula, Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI) formula, and Inbody 720 measurement. DEE was calculated by H-B formula, DRI formula, Inbody 720 measurement, and estimated energy requirements (EER) formula. Results: The mean fat free mass (FFM) in elderly men was significantly higher than that in elderly women (p<0.001). The mean percent body fat and fat mass (FM) in elderly women were significantly greater than those in elderly men (p<0.001, p<0.001). The mean PAL in elderly men (1.59) was significantly higher than that in elderly women (1.53) (p<0.001). The mean DEEs calculated by 3 methods except for H-B formula in elderly men were higher than EER for elderly men (2000kcal). The mean DEEs calculated by 4 different methods in elderly women were higher than EER for elderly women (1600kcal). Age showed significantly negative correlations with height (p<0.001, p<0.001), FFM (p<0.001, p<0.001), BMRs calculated by H-B formula (p<0.001, p<0.001), DRI formula (p<0.001, p<0.001) and Inbody 720 measurement (p<0.05 p<0.01) and DEEs calculated by H-B formula (p<0.001, p<0.001), DRI formula (p<0.001, p<0.001), Inbody 720 measurement (p<0.05, p<0.05), and EER formula (p<0.001, p<0.001) in elderly men and elderly women. PAL showed significantly positive correlations with FFM (p<0.05), BMR by Inbody 720 measurement (p<0.05) in elderly men and negative correlations with FM (p<0.05) in elderly women. Conclusions: Based on the results, PAL was associated with greater FFM in elderly men and lesser FM in elderly women. Therefore, nutritional education to increase physical activity for health promotion in late life is needed in the elderly.

대구지역 유아들의 식사 및 식생활 형태 조사 - 식품 섭취패턴 및 식사다양성 평가 - (Study of Food Intakes and Eating Patterns among Preschool Children in Daegu Area - Assessment of Dietary Pattern and Dietary Diversity -)

  • This study was conducted to assess dietary pattern and dietary diversity of preschool children by investigating their food consumption. To accomplish this, dietary intake survey (24 hour-recall food diary) was administered to 508 children aged between 4 to 6 years old from 4 kindergartens in the Daegu area (415 were completed). By using CAN pro 3.0 for professionals, the dietary patterns and dietary diversity scores of each food group were examined by age and sex. Data were analyzed with SPSS 12.0, and $\chi^2$, t-test and Anova test, and Duncan's multiple range test used for verifying significance. For 4~5-year-old group, boys had significantly more fruit and meats than girls (p < 0.05), but girls had more dairy food than boys with no significance. For 6-year-old group, boys had significantly more foods, milk and dairy foods than girls (p<0.05), and also boys had more vegetables and fruit than girls with no significance. For DDS (Dietary Diversity Score), the score of 6-year-old group was significantly higher than that of younger children (p < 0.05) and the older the age was, the higher the score was. Dietary Pattern (GMVFD) was verified by 8 types, and the ratio of taking all five food groups (GMVFD = 11111) of the 6-year-old group was 48.8%. Children with older ages had more various foods than younger ones (p < 0.05). In addition, the ratio of taking less than the minimal intake of dairy foods of girls (48.1%) was higher than that of boys (41.3%). As results, unbalanced diet, overeating and not eating unbalanced diet were revealed as the problematic dietary habits among preschool children, and those habits may change positively with knowledge on nutrition grow on. Therefore, nutritional characteristics and importance of preschool children should be taught to parents and caregivers, and it must be practical and ready to use in cooking for these children to healthy dietary habits.

삼척지역 성인 및 노인 남녀의 연령별 식행동과 식사의 질 평가 (The Evaluation Study on Eating Behavior and Dietary Quality of Elderly People Residing in Samcheok According to Age Group)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the eating behaviors and dietary quality of various aged adults. This study conducted through questionnaire and dietary survey by 24-hr recall to 850 adults residing in Samcheok. Subjects were divided into four groups according to the age in male and female, which included 20~29 yrs group (male n = 94, female n = 66), 30~49 yrs group (male n = 201, female n = 216), 50~64 yrs group (male n = 88, female n = 96), and $\geq65$ yrs group (n = 46, female n = 43). In male, 20~29 yrs group had a larger proportion of subjects who skipped breakfast, lunch and dinner compared to other groups (p < 0.001, p < 0.05, p < 0.01). The daily food and energy intakes in $\geq50$ yrs group were significantly lower than those of < 50 yrs. Protein and fat intakes of 20~29 yrs group were significantly higher than those of the other groups. But ND (Nutrient Density) of minerals as like calcium, iron and plant iron in 20~29 yrs group were significantly lower than those of other groups. The KDDS (Korean's Dietary Diversity Score) of 20~29 yrs group, 30~49 yrs group, 50~64 yrs group and $\geq65$ yrs group in male were 4.1, 3.8, 3.7 and 3.5 respectively and there was significant difference (p < 0.001). In female, skipping breakfast and dinner were significantly higher in 20~29 yrs group than in other groups (p < 0.001, p < 0.001). And the use of nutrient supplementation was higher in 30~49 yrs group than that of other groups (p < 0.05). The daily energy intakes was higher in 20~49 yrs group than that of $\geq65$ yrs group. The ND (Nutrient Density) of animal protein, vitamins A and $B_1$ in 20~29 yrs group were significantly lower than those of other groups. The KDDS of 20~29 yrs group, 30~49 yrs group, 50~64 yrs group and $\geq65$ yrs group in female were 4.0, 3.9, 3.9 and 3.6 respectively and $\geq65$ yrs group was significant lower than other groups. According to these results, $\geq65$ yrs and 20~29 yrs group had more dietary habit problems and poor nutrition status than 30~64 yrs group. The results of this study revealed that nutritional management and education for adequate meals should be emphasized in adults and elderly.

한국 성인들의 24시간 소변 분석법에 근거한 고나트륨군의 혈압과 고나트륨 섭취관련 위험인자에 관한 연구 (Blood Pressure and Dietary Related Risk Factors Associated with High Sodium Intake Assessed with 24-hour Urine Analysis for Korean Adults)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to examine blood pressure and other characteristics of a high sodium intake group assessed with 24-hr urine analysis and the dietary factors related to the risk of high sodium intake among Korean adults. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with adults aged 20-59 years. Subjects who completed 24-hr urine collection (N = 205) were divided into 3 groups (tertile) according to the sodium intake estimated with 24-hour urine analysis. We compared the blood pressure, BMI and dietary related factors of the 3 groups (low, medium, high sodium intake group) with General Linear Model (GLM) and Duncan's multiple range test (p < 0.05). The risk factors related to high sodium intake were assessed with odds ratio (p < 0.05). Results: The sodium intake (mg/day) of the 3 groups were $3359.8{\pm}627.9$, $4900.3{\pm}395.1$ and $6770.6{\pm}873.9$, respectively, corresponding to daily salt intake (g/day) 8.5, 12.4 and 17.2, respectively. High sodium group showed significantly elevated age, BMI and systolic/diastolic blood pressure. Being male gender was associated with significantly increased risk of sodium intake (OR = 1.972; 95%CI: 1.083-3.593). The other factors related to high sodium intake were higher BMI (${\leq}25$) (OR = 2.619; 95% CI: 1.368-5.015), current alcohol consumption (OR = 1.943; 95%CI: 1.060-3.564), and having salty soybean paste with salt percentage > 14% (OR = 3.99; 95% CI: 1.404-6.841). The dietary attitude related to increased risk of high sodium intake included 'enjoy dried fish and salted mackerel' (p < 0.001) and 'eat all broth of soup, stew or noodle' (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Because high sodium intake was associated with higher blood pressure, nutrition education should focus on alcohol consumption, emphasis on related dietary factors such as using low salt soybean paste, improvements in the habit of eating dried fish and salted mackerel or eating all broth of soup, stew or noodle.

브랜드농산물에 대한 소비자인식 및 만족도 연구 (A Study on Consumers' Recognition and Satisfaction to the Brand Agricultural Products)

  • Purpose - This study was conducted to present a study on the perception and satisfaction with the brand agricultural products targeted at consumers who use a lot of local products. According to the data of 2011, the total number of the brand agricultural products of Korea is 5,291 with various kinds. Research design, data and methodology - The survey shows that the brand agricultural products are being used by some specific people. However, it can be a useful idea which can help the consumption of brand agricultural products to be expanded if we understand how consumers' recognitions are different between various groups. For an empirical Analysis, the response data of 110 adult patients residing in the metropolitan area were used and conducted with a factor analysis, frequency analysis in order to ensure the validity and conducted a regression analysis and correlation analysis using SPSS statistical program. Results - According to the analysis, it showed consumers with an interest in brand agricultural products are 40-50 age housewives and the middle class of about 5 million won in monthly income more than 3 million won with a college education. As for consumers' purchasing status, all the subjects said that they had experienced buying brand agricultural products and the level of satisfaction for them was very high. Relatively, consumers' satisfaction level with high income and education is high. And recognition of the brand agricultural products was found mainly goes through word of mouth. The age and income are very important factors in customers' repurchase for brand agricultural products. The result of the analysis for the influences on brand agricultural products of customer satisfaction suggests even if the recognitions for safety, quality, and value are vital factors, the recognition of quality doesn't influence on brand agricultural products statistically and significantly. It was analysed if there were any differences between recognitions by group to brand agricultural products, that is to say recognition of safety, quality and value and the result can be summarized as follows. There are all statistical significant differences depending on their age, educational background and income. In the case of 30 or 40 aged, as they got the education level of college and graduate school and earned relatively high income, most customers have positive recognition on the brand agricultural products. This implies the group which can buy and consume the brand agricultural more easily has much more positive recognition. Conclusion - The results of this study shows consumers' brand awareness and satisfaction with brand agricultural products are affected by their age and income level. The purpose of this study is to find the information that can help brand agricultural products markets to be expanded by understanding the factors which encourage consumers to behave repurchase as well as customers' various levels of recognition to the brand agricultural products. The survey says that brand agricultural products are being used by some specific people.

초음파검사에 의한 알코올성 간질환의 위험요인 분석 (Risk Factors Analysis of Alcoholic Liver Diseases by Ultrasonography)

  • 본 연구는 2007년 3월부터 5월까지 경기도 광주시에 소재하고 있는 K영상의학과의원에서 간 초음파검사에 의한 알코올성 간질환의 위험요인을 분석하기 위하여, 연령, 성별, 음주빈도, 체질량지수, 콜레스테롤 및 GPT 등 6개의 요인을 선정하였다. 연구대상은 20세 이상 69세 미만의 353명을 대상으로 간 초음파검사에 의한 간질환과 음주양태 등과 생활습관의 관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 간질환에 걸릴 확률은 남성이 여성보다 2.12배 정도 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 주 3회 이상 술을 마시는 사람이 간질환에 걸릴 확률은 주 2회 이하로 마시거나 술을 전혀 마시지 않는 사람들에 비해 약 2.37배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 정상 체질량지수인 사람이 비정상 체질량지수인 사람보다 간질환에 걸릴 확률이 0.52배로 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 콜레스테롤 수치가 비정상인이 간질환에 걸릴 확률이 정상인보다 약 9.13배 정도 높은 것으로 나타났다. GPT 수치가 비정상인 사람은 정상인보다 간질환에 걸릴 확률이 약 4.66배 높은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구 결과 간질환을 진단하기 위하여 건강증진 프로그램에 간 초음파검사가 필수적이라고 사료된다.

청소년의 비합리적 신념과 자아존중감 간의 관계에 대한 영성의 매개효과 검증 (The Mediating Effect of Spirituality on the Relationship between Irrational Beliefs and Self-esteem)

  • 본 연구는 청소년의 비합리적 신념이 자아존중감에 미치는 영향에 대해 영성이 매개효과가 있는지를 검증하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 수도권에 거주하는 14세에서 19세 청소년 500명에게 설문지를 배포하여 419명에게 자료를 수집하였다. 연구 대상의 평균 연령은 15.8세이다. 수집된 자료는 구조방정식 모형을 통해 검증하였다. 그 결과 최초 연구 모형은 양호하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 모형수정지수를 참조하여 모형을 수정한 결과 1차 수정 모형은 ${\chi}2=222.527$, df=83,p<.000, GFI=.975, NFI=.961 그리고 RMSEA=.061로 나타나 모형이 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 이에 모형의 영향력을 분석한 결과 자아존중감에 대한 비합리적 신념의 직접 효과는 .02이며, 영성을 매개한 간접효과는 .30로 나타났다. 이에 자아존중감에 대한 비합리적 신념의 영향을 영성이 매개하는 것으로 검증되었다. 이를 볼 때 청소년들의 비합리적 신념이 자아존중감에 부적인 영향을 미치는데 영성 수준을 향상 시키면 자아존중감에 미치는 비합리적 신념의 부적인 영향을 감소시키는 것으로 판단할 수 있다.

POFA 콘크리트의 재료특성 및 부식 저항성 평가로의 적용 (Material Characteristic of POFA Concrete and Its Application to Corrosion Resistance Evaluation)

  • 이 연구에서는 전기화학적 기법을 사용하여 혼합콘크리트의 일종인 palm oil fuel ash(POFA) 콘크리트의 부식저항성을 평가하였다. POFA는 야자수로부터 야자유를 정제하고 난후 야자수 재로 추출되어진 산업 재생 폐기물을 일컫는다. POFA 콘크리트의 기본 물성 특성분석을 위해서 초기재령에서의 POFA 콘크리트의 압축강도, 슬럼프, 중량감소율, 블리딩 및 팽창비 특성 분석실험을 수행하였다. 한편, 내구성 특성분석을 위해서 염소이온침투시험 및 중성화 침투시험도 수행하였다. 마지막으로 전기화학적 균열치유기법을 사용하여, 가압전압 특성분석, 갈바닉 전류특성분석 및 선형분극저항 평가 등의 부식저항성 평가를 실시하였다. 실험 결과로부터, 장기재령의 강도, 블리딩, 슬럼프 특성, 팽창비, 염소이온 확산성, 탄산화 저항성 및 부식저항성의 향상 효과가 활성화 되어진 POFA 콘크리트의 포졸란 반응에 기인하여 이루어지고 있음을 확인하였다. 따라서 POFA 콘크리트는 그린-재생 자원으로서 시멘트계 대체 결합재로서의 이용가능성이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.

1인 가구의 인구.경제.사회학적 특성에 따른 성장패턴과 공간분포 (Growth Pattern and Spatial Distribution of One-person Households by Socio-Economic Demographic Characteristicsc)

  • 본 연구는 지난 10년(1995-2005년)동안 급증하고 있는 1인가구의 인구 경제 사회학적 특성에 따른 성장패턴을 기술하고, 1인가구의 다양한 특성에 따른 공간분포 특성을 분석하는데 목적을 두었다. 1인가구의 증가는 젊은 층의 결혼 지연과 독신, 중년층의 이혼율 증가와 노령화에 따른 독거노인의 증가가 복합적으로 작용하였다. 1인가구의 성별, 연령별, 혼인상태별, 교육수준에 따라 상당히 차별적인 1인가구의 성장 패턴을 보이고 있다. 1인가구의 연령, 학력, 주택소유 및 주택유형을 기준으로 하여 이들의 공간분포 패턴을 비교해보면 매우 대조적이고 불균등하게 나타나고 있다. 교육수준이 높고 자가 아파트에 거주하는 젊은 싱글족은 소수의 대도시에 집중해있는 반면에 교육수준이 낮고 단독주택을 소유하고 있는 독거노인들은 주로 농촌에 거주하고 있다. 또한 고학력의 젊은 연령층의 경우 경제적 상황에 따른 양극화 현상이 두드러지게 나타나고 있다. 특히 광역시나 대도시에는 아파트를 소유하면서 경제적으로 여유있는 삶을 살고 있는 그룹과 월세로 단독주택에 거주하는 그룹이 혼재되어 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 1인가구들도 상당히 이질적인 특성을 갖고 있기 때문에 어떤 그룹에 속하고 있는 1인가구가 증가하고 있으며, 또 집중분포되어 있는가에 따라서 해당 지자체가 직면하게 되는 경제 사회적 문제는 상당히 다를 것이며, 이에 따른 사회복지정책도 차별화되어야 할 것이다.
