  • Purpose: The recent trends of multiple births (MBs) conceived by assisted reproductive technology (ART) in Korea were analyzed as well as the relationship with maternal age, especially advanced maternal age. Methods: Data were obtained from the Korean Statistical Information Service and annual ART reports from the ART committee of the Korean Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Results: MBs increased from the early 1990s; there was a 275% increase by 2008. The number of total live births was 448,153 and MBs accounted for 10,767; the MB rate was 24.0% in 2006. Among 2,326 deliveries conceived by ART, multiple deliveries accounted for 786 (33.8%). The total number of live births with ART was 3,125 and 1,585 (50.7%) of them were MBs. During 2006, 14.7% of the entire MBs in Korea were associated with ART. The proportion of women of advanced maternal age was much higher in the ART group than in the total live birth group. Conclusion: MBs in women of advanced maternal age have been increasing in Korea with the use of ART. The results of this study showed that ART was a significant factor associated with the increase in MBs in Korea.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the interior characteristics of the Yale center for British art by Louis I. Kahn. As his last realized project, the Yale center for British art shows Kahn's latter architectural thoughts about exterior/interior, space/structure and theory/practice. Kahn arranged unit space(room) around two interior courts and laminated them vertically. This spatial configuration is the result of solving the urban context which needed the continuity of street and complicated program including art museum, retail shop, studio and library. Although Kahn adpted severe formal configuration, he added changes to spatial relation. The visualization of architectural system is realized by revealing the relation of the unit space and structure. And this emphasized the presence of the center. The emphasis of tectonic expression is also the characteristics of interior in that structure is the logical part of whole building system rather than concealing object for the exterior of buildings. In the Yale center for British art, interior characteristics are summarized as spatial configuration based on the relation between unit space and two courts, the visualization of structural order, and the relationship between structure and light.

  • NFT art is a new art formed based on NFT technology. This is attracting great attention in the existing art world and art market. Therefore, it is required to analyze whether NFT art can establish itself as a new area of art. Therefore, the formation and development process of NFT art is analyzed from the perspective of Actor-Network Theory of Science and Technology and Studies, and the case of NFT artist 'beeple' is a representative example. It also discusses the artistic value of NFT art and its relationship with traditional art networks based on the aesthetics of science and technology researcher Graham Harman. In particular, it analyzes the future and genre sustainability of NFT art through the case of NFT project "Cryptopunks" and "PUNKISM" advocating a new art genre. By analyzing NFT art with ANT, I would like to raise a technical, aesthetic, and philosophical questions and propose a positive prospect as a new art genre.

  • Purpose: The study explored the meaning of experiences within a family art therapy process among terminal cancer patients and their families. Methods: Ten participants, including four terminal cancer patients currently admitted to the hospice ward at an inpatient hospice facility in S City and four caregiving family members, engaged in four cycles of family art therapy sessions. The sessions were conducted weekly or bi-weekly, and each lasted approximately 50 minutes. Results: Nine cross-case themes emerged: "feeling unfamiliar and intimidated by the idea of expressing my thoughts through art," "trying to accept the present and positively overcome sadness," "expressing hope through emotional bonds during the process of parting," "conveying and preserving personal and family beliefs," "feeling upset about family imbalances caused by deteriorating health," "valuing togetherness and striving for stability amidst the current challenges," "art as a medium of empowerment for patients and facilitator of family conversations, even amidst difficulties," "sharing a range of emotions-not just joy, but concerns and sorrow-through art," and "gratitude for art' s role in improving family communication and connection through artwork. Conclusion: The findings of this study lead to several conclusions. First, patients and their families faced psychological challenges when confronted with impending death, yet they strove to remain optimistic by seeking meaning in their struggles. Second, families practiced open and expressive communication, sharing a spectrum of complex emotions with one another. Third, even as the patient's condition worsened, resulting in family fatigue, their support and cohesion strengthened.

  • Through the previous studies(I,II), it was observed that human follicular fluid(HFF) was more effective than human fetal cord serum(HFCS) on promoting meiotic resumption of oocytes and improving embryonic development of mouse in vitro. On the basis of these results, we have gradually exchanged HFCS with HFF as protein supplement in human ART. This study was performed to investigate the efficiency of HFF on improving the pregnancy rate in ART. Oocytes were retrieved transvaginally from patients treated with pituitary suppression with GnRH-agonist and ovarian stimulation with human menopausal gonadotro-pin(HMG) and pure follicle stimulating hormone(FSH). Aspirated oocytes were rinsed and cultured in TCM-199 containing HFF, and the concentrations of HFF were adjusted to 10, 20, and 30% according to the use for insemination, embryo growth and embryo transfer, respectively. As possible as, we tried to do embryo transfer into fallopian tube to mimic the coincidence of the cell stage with the place of sojourn in vivo, so we performed various ART programs(IVF & ET; in vitro fertilization, ZIFT; zygote intra fallopian-tube transfer, ZIFT & ET) according to the tubal conditions of patients. On the while, intra cytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI) was used to assist IVF of the patients who had shown poor standard IVF results by immunological or severe male factor. Of the 255 cycles of ART programs using HFF as protein supplement, 118 cycles were turn out to be succeeded in pregnancy(46.2%, per cycle, p<0.05), while 21 pregnancies were achieved in the 69 cycles using HFCS(30.4%). The 255 cycles using HFF were subdivided into cycles with the type of ART programs, and each pregnancy rate of the ART programs were 44.7% (IVF & ET, 76/170 cycles), 53.4%(ZIFT, 31/58 cycles) and 40.7% (ZIFT & ET, 11/27 cycles), respectively. In the 61 ICSI cycles using HFF, 28 cycles succeed in pregnancy(45.9%), while 7 pregnancies were obtained in the 17 ICSI cycles using HFCS. Also the ongoing pregnancy rate in the group using HFF(78.8%, 93/118 cycles) was higher than that in the group using HFCS(61.9%). Therefore, we found that the use of HFF as protein supplement was more suitable and effective than the use of HFCS to improve the pregnancy rate in ART.

The data was collected from classification and bisection kind, subdivision kind, and great classification composed to 17 items. User satisfaction side and Variable that is looked below satisfaction than average appeared to bench, pergola, sculpture facilities, pavement facilities, border facilities. And these facilities were analyzed dissatisfaction. When see satisfaction model, when make up culture art center or similar facilities in local government hereafter because parking facilities and rest area cause big effect in satisfaction, is judged that is item to consider most preferentially. In most case, parking lot security from outdoors space, resting place security, security of field performance facilities etc. taking a serious view because tendency that users see performance or use most vehicles except neighborhood walking area for a rest, a walk etc.. is trend. But, is judged that physical side so that can feel satisfaction as space security of quantitative side is important but users utilize substantially and side that is the program are more important in hereafter.

  • Background: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder defined by impairments in social interaction and verbal and nonverbal communication. Purpose: Determine the association between use of assisted reproduction technology (ART) and the risk of ASD among children. Methods: This case-control study included 300 participants (100 cases, 200 controls). The control group included women with a child aged 2-10 years without ASD, while the cases were women with a child aged 2-10 years with ASD. We used a researcher-made questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Stata ver. 14 at the 0.05 significance level. Results: In the univariate analysis, there was significant association between child sex, delivery mode, history of preterm delivery, history of using ART, and maternal age at child's birth and the risk of ASD. After the adjustment for other variables, this association was significant for male sex (2.66; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.11-4.31; P=0.001) and history of using ART (4.03; 95% CI, 1.76-9.21; P=0.001). Therefore, after the adjustment for confounder variables, there was no significant association between ART and the risk of ASD among children (4.98; 95% CI, 0.91-27.30; P=0.065). Conclusion: After the adjustment for other variables, risk factors for ASD were male sex and history preterm delivery. Thus, there was no significant association between ART and the risk of ASD among children.

  • We are developing large arrays of X-ray microcalorimeters for applications in X-ray astronomy. X-ray microcalorimeters can detect the energy of X-rays with extremely high resolution. High-resolution Imaging spectroscopy enabled by these arrays will allow us to study the hot and energetic nature of the Universe through the detection of X-rays from astronomical objects such as neutron stars or black holes. I will introduce the state-of-the-art X-ray microcalorimeters being developed at NASA/GSFC and the future X-ray observatory missions based on microcalorimeters.

  • This paper is a study of culture and identity expressed in textile art works of the age of globalization, centering on the Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale. This study began with the idea that globalism would develop regional cultural diversity as well as contribute to the field of art. In 2000, the Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale held its first large exhibition, and a total of 10 biennales were held from then until 2018. Get an understanding of the Beijing International fiber art Biennale, and select award-winning works from one to ten times to learn about cultural characteristics and identity. The analysis was based on the works of awards from China and Japan, including Korea, which are the center of East Asian culture. The Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale has steadily increased the number of participating countries, writers and works, and once again opened the stage for the revival of textile art following the Lausanne International Tapestry Biennale. Through the Beijing International Fiber Art Biennale, textile artists hope to promote world harmony in textile art, respect cultural diversity and conduct equal dialogue between East and West cultures.
