  • In this paper, we propose an AVLS(Automatic Vehicle Location System) using the DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication) which adopts a radio communication tool between RSE(Road-Side Equipment) and OBE(On-Board Equipment) on a vehicle and uses the ISM bandwidth of 5.8GHz radio frequency. Typical AVLS uses the sensors for detecting the vehicle, but the DSRC system is developed for supporting various services such as the position of vehicle, clearance, vehicle to vehicle communication, collection and distributions of traffic and road information. Also, for fast processing, we design three-layer configuration of physical(L1), data link(L2), and application layer(L7), which simplifies the seven-layer configuration. We suggest the proposed system as a new technology for replacement of typical wireless communication system and sensors for AVLS.

  • Recently, As smart phone offers rather superior functionality and interface than normal phone, the number of user increase rapidly. for the convenience of user, there are so many case of customize the system. Simultaneously a number of smart phones which vulnerable to security increase Exponentially. The number of malware which targets smartphone increases Annually, namely Threats have intensified. In this thesis, we suggest the Techniques and countermeasures of the vulnerability which targets aviation communication system by Smart-phone RF module with frequency modulation.

  • Aviation safety is increasingly important to secure the safety of the Republic of Korea Air Force (ROKAF). A critical activity for enhancing aviation safety is to analyze an accident throughly and to identify causes that can explain it reasonably. The results of such a systematic accident investigation can be effectively used for improving information displays, task procedures, and training systems as well as for reorganizing team structure and communication control system. However, the current practice of analyzing aviation accidents in ROKAF is too superficial and simple to diagnose them systematically. Additionally, the current practice does not give a full consideration to human factors that have been identified as main causes of most of the aviation accidents. With this issue in mind, this study aims to suggest a new approach to analyzing aviation accidents related to human factors. The proposed method is developed on the basis of several models and frameworks about system safety, human error, and human-system interaction. Its application to forty-two human factors-related accidents, which have occurred in ROKAF during the last ten years, showed that the proposed method could be a useful tool for analyzing aviation accidents caused by human factors.

  • The solar storm generated by solar activity can be impact on earth in various area. If solar storm impact on Navaids system, it will be a serious problem for aviation and human safety. The impact analysis of solar strom on Navaids system are performed in three area, ILS, GPS navigation and radio communication for aviation. Analysis result show that Instrument Landing System(LLZ, GP, MB) and Navaids system(VOR, DME, Radar) are not impacted by the solar storm, but GPS system is impacted by solar storm. Also analysis result show that VHF/UHF radio system are not impacted by solar storm, but HF radio system is impacted by solar storm.

  • There are various types of foreign object debris (FOD) in the aviation industry. Tools lost by workers can act as a risk factor throughout aircraft operation, manufacturing, and maintenance fields. Accidents caused by tools lost due to workers' carelessness continue to occur throughout the aviation industry. Aviation-related institutions such as FAA and EASA have established tool control regulations and systems to prevent FOD occurrence. However, in Korea, related regulations and procedures are insufficient. A systematic and effective tool control system is required for reliable manufacturing, airworthiness, operation, and maintenance of aircraft. In this paper, tool control regulations and procedures of domestic and foreign air traffic authorities and aviation industry-related organizations were studied. A wireless communication-based tool control system was proposed based on the NAS 412's tool control regulations certified by the National Standards Association.

  • Ultra Wide Band (UWB) system uses wide band signal, which power spectral density is over all band, It likes as a noise floor, so UWB system can be used without interfering with other communication system. For the first time, we adopted Rayleigh mono pulse antipodal signal which had symmetric characteristic and zero mean. With the power spectral density using stochastic process, we knew that the antipodal signaling scheme removed discrete spectrum and concluded that this had much better spectral suppression, probability of error and data rate than PPM (Pulse Positioning Modulation).

  • As around the world, ground and underground transportation capacity is reaching its limit, centering on urban areas. As urban traffic becomes congested, time and cost are astronomical, and environmental destruction caused by urban pollution is becoming increasingly serious. As a way to solve this problem, the means of flying over the air are in the spotlight as the next generation of future transportation, and the concept of urban air mobility (UAM, Urban Air Mobility) is defined as systematic planning. The development of an electric-powered vertical take-off (eVTOL) aircraft that obtains electric power through a battery using a personal aerial vehicle (PAV) as a means of transportation has accelerated. As the aircraft development of new technology aircraft in the evtol method is actively carried out, the need to prepare systems such as aircraft certification standards, pilot qualification systems, and qualification management is emerging. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which lead international standards, announced new special technical conditions and temporary regulations SCVTOL-01, respectively. However, the pilot qualification system for operating the uam aircraft has not yet been clearly announced. Therefore, this paper analyzes the recently announced FAA regulations and EASA regulations to identify differences and directions in perspectives on UAMs and study the existing vertical take-off and landing aircraft (VTOL) pilot qualification system to present directions for qualification classification.

  • In oceanic flight routes, HF radio and satellite data links have been used for air-to-ground communication, but these systems have long propagation delay and low data throughput. In this paper, we propose a reliable system to overcome the weakness of current HF radio and satellite communication systems for oceanic aeronautical flight routes. The proposed scheme uses only one aeronautical VHF channel in multi-hop oceanic communication environments and supports a hybrid type of multiple access, which consists of random access and TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) scheme. The proposed system improves performance on delay and throughput as an effective solution to communicate end-to-end on the oceanic flight routes and strengthens the reliability of oceanic aeronautical communication.
