A Study on the Mixed Usage of Logical Block and Moving Block in CBTC System (CBTC 시스템에서 논리 폐색과 이동 폐색의 혼용에 관한 연구)

  • This paper proposes a CBTC wayside signaling system, which redeems existing track-circuit-based ones by using movement authorities mixed with logical block and moving block. Only one train can be entered into the logical block or the route for existing wayside signaling system. Applying moving block for CBTC system enables the train to get nearer to the preceding one, because its protection mechanism uses train's safe boundary, not fixed block unit. By narrowing the existing route set to switch machine and applying the moving block beyond that area, more than one train can enter into one route area. This paper shows that the efficient train control, i.e. shortening the headway, is possible using the moving block mixed with logical block in wayside signaling system.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the formation and change of road-block-lot of the old inner city in cheongju The result of this study are as follows; (I)Among others a system roads of in around the old castle in cheongju city is most of feature north and south direction of road. Lot system is organic relations of north and south direction of road. Therefore, urban tissue in around the old castle in cheongju city is established order road system keep on the change of expansion urban tissue. (2) Block type classified into non-division, 2division and over 3division. (3) The square block remains mostly in Cheongju old castle, two-division block was around south of castle. And block of the grid-form street system divided into over 3 division. Through the guideline about characteristic of block type, residential area should be developed as a characteristics area in the urban area.

  • This study aims at the new design system development of landscape architecture structures, as soundproof wall using reinforced soil block. This structures, that is new soundproof wall system, have to be maintained stability on acting critical wind load, which is combined exist soundproof wall system and soundproof wall system using environmental green stone block. To the harmony of this system, the post block, so-called landscape block or cast block, is manufactured. It's possible to stand of the post bearing system combined with post-pile and post block. Through the comparison with a serious code for the acting wind load on the soundproof wall, the reasonable wind load could be calculated. Also, the mechanical stability on the green stone block was checked by the Lab. tests based on the UBC (Uniformed Building Code). Because the critical height of soundproof wall system using green stone generally was restricted, the new system demands to combination of the exist system and the new system. For the stability analysis of them, the utility program, SAP2000, was used. And, a semi-auto program on the design system of the new soundproof wall using green stone was developed, which can be easily use because of the simplification.

  • Developed is a new environment-friendly concrete-block retaining wall system. The conventional analysis methods are not directly applicable because the proposed concrete-block wall system is made of by interlocking the blocks with shear keys. Therefore, the shear analysis as well as stability analysis have been conducted to secure the safety of block-wall system. Overall slope stability analysis was also performed. An appropriate strengthening method was developed to ensure the safety when the block-wall system is relatively high. The method of analysis for strengthening the concrete-block wall system was also proposed. The proposed environment-friendly concrete block retaining wall system shows reasonable safety and can be a good construction method for retaining walls and river bank walls.

  • This paper proposes an image based method for arranging ship blocks in a dockyard. The problem of appropriately arranging numerous blocks has to be carefully planned because it has close relation to the effectiveness of the whole working process. To implement the system, the block shape and feature points have to be obtained from block image. The block arrangement system can be implemented by the fusion of the block shape extraction and image matching technology.

  • This paper develops a flow control block for a hydraulic system of a tunnel boring machine. The flow control block is a necessary component to ensure stability in the operation of the hydraulic system. In order to know the pressure distribution of the flow control block, the flow analysis was performed using the ANSYS-CFX. It was confirmed that the pressure and flow rate were normally supplied to the hydraulic system even if one of the four ports of the flow control block was not operated. In order to evaluate the structural stability of the flow control block, structural analysis was performed using the ANSYS WORKBENCH. As a result, the safety factor of the flow control block is 1.54 and the structural stability is secured.

  • Linux environment that is commonly used at embedded systems supports various file systems as Ext2, FAT, NTFS, etc. The file system that is equiped on the embedded system is mostly implemented on mini hard disk or flash memory. The types of the file system of the system make an effect on the performance of a application programs. The factors of file system performance on a same media are block read, block write and block free time. On these factors, block read and block free time are not so different according to the type of file systems. This paper evaluates the performance benchmark of file systems supported by linux about block allocation and write performance. The results obtained from various experiments shows the characteristics of each file system.

  • The co-efficient matrix of linear second-order partial differential equations in the general form is partitioned with (n-1)x(n-1) submartices and is transformed into the block tridiagonal system. Then the cyclic odd-even reduction technique is applied to this system with the large-grain data granularity and the block cyclic reduction algorithm to solve unknown vectors of this system is created. But this block cyclic reduction technique is not suitable for the parallel processing system because of its parallelism chanigng at every computing stages. So a new algorithm for solving linear second-order partical differential equations is presentes by the block cyclic reduction technique which is modified in order to keep its parallelism constant, and to reduce gteatly its execution time. Both of these algoriths are compared and studied.

  • A comprehensive extension of functions and efficiency of the software system, DS/Block, developed earlier for the purpose of simulation of the motion of a ship block during lifting and turnover operation. A viewpoint change used in 3D-CAD is utilized and saves the time for displays of a series of configurations for the motion. The Euler parameters are adopted to convert 3 rotational degrees of freedom about global coordinate system to those about local coordinate system defined in Pro/ENGINEER. DS/Block provides FEM input data for stress and strain analyses. Several functions are incorporated for user-friendliness. DS/Block is to be tested and installed in a shipyard.

  • A numerical method on multi-block technique by Bi-CGSTAB(Bi-Conjugate Gradient STABilized) solver has been proposed. The present multi-block technique can reduce the numerical manipulation greatly because the common regions at the interface of each block are not necessary. In order to test the computational performance of present multi-block technique, the flow characteristics in a T type duct system and a N type duct system have been investigated by three kinds of methods such as the single-block method, the previous multi-block technique and the multi-block technique with Bi-CGSTAB solver. The results indicated that the required CPU time by present multi block technique was shorter than that of other two numerical methods and the convergency history was shown very stable at the present multi-block technique.
