Analysis of Factors Driving the Participation of Small Scale Renewable Power Providers in the Power Brokerage Market (소규모 재생발전사업자의 중개시장참여 촉진요인 분석)

  • Rapid spread of intermittent renewable energy has amplified the instability and uncertainty of power systems. The Korea Power Exchange (KPX) promoted efficient management by opening the power brokerage market in 2019. By combining small-scale intermittent renewable energy with a flexible facility through the power brokerage market, the KPX aims to develop a virtual power plant system that will allow the conversion of existing intermittent renewable energy into collective power plants. However, the participation rate of renewable power owners in the power brokerage market is relatively low because other markets such as the small solar power contract market or the Korea Electric Power Corporation power purchase agreement are more profitable. In this study, we used a choice experiment to determine the attributes affecting the participation rate in the power brokerage market for 113 renewable power owners and estimate the value of the power brokerage market. According to the estimation results, a low smart meter installation cost, low profit variations, long contract periods, and few clearances increased the probability of participation. Moreover, the average value of the power brokerage market was estimated to be 2.63 million KRW per power owner.

  • For this study, real estate brokerage services to customers how to evaluate quality factors and quality factors important for studying about what is preferred. Real estate brokerage service quality factors, the expertise of brokers, dealers sales skills, a sense of responsibility of traders, brokerage firm's position, whether or not participating were chosen franchise. Looking at the findings, and customer service quality factors, the five kinds of real estate brokers a sense of responsibility to be the most important quality factors were analyzed as a favorite, followed by the expertise of brokers, sales skills brokers, brokerage firm's presence, a franchise analysis of whether the order has been participating. As the results of this study, the traders as traders sense of responsibility and expertise and strive to improve, friendly servece and act as an active intermediarv will need to improve sales skills. A Study on Relations of Real Estate Brokerage Service Quality, Credibility, and Request Intention (부동산중개서비스품질과 신뢰와 재이용의도간의 관련성 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out key factors(specialized knowledge, manner, interaction) of real estate brokerage service quality derived from previous researches and to identify degrees of relations among the key factors and request intention. To do this, first of all, this study makes surveys including variables of estate brokerage service quality, credibility, and request intention. Second, it collects the data from respondents who have visited real estate brokerage firms. Finally, the data are analyzed by applying an exploratory factor analysis and a confirmatory factor analysis which is based on a structural equation modeling. The result of these surveys describes that only the interaction affects the credibility positively and the credibility has positive effects on the request intention. At the same time, the interaction impacts on the request intention directly. Therefore, these analysis results suggest that managers of real estate brokerage firm focus on the interaction of the real estate brokerage service quality factors in order to improve the customers' request intention.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient internet-based logistics brokerage concept which can overcome the weakness of the traditional off-line method to intermediate between vehicle owners and shippers for matching empty vehicles and freights. For defining a business model based on the new concept and implementing an information system, it is necessary to analyze the business process for the internet-based logistics brokerage using a modeling methodology. In this paper, we analyze the logistics brokerage process using the UN/CEFACT Modeling Methodology (UMM) being utilized as a standard modeling methodology in the area of electronic commerce. After analyzing the business process, we can expect that the UMM can be used as a useful tool for modeling the business process of electronic commerce in which the description of the collaborative work is very important.

Multi-Criteria Decision Making Based Logistics Brokerage Agents (다기준 의사결정 기반의 물류중개 에이전트)

  • In this paper we deal with the logistics brokerage process in which a logistics agent intermediates between vehicle owners and shippers for matching empty vehicles and freights. Based on the Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methodology, the proposed agent system matches the most preferred empty vehicle to the shipper and the most preferred freight to the vehicle owner. In the proposed agent system, an MCDM based sensitivity analysis is also used for supporting decision makers under negotiations. Among various MCDM methodologies, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is utilized in this paper. Although AHP is one of the most popular MCDM methodologies, AHP needs a number of pair-wise comparisons for assessing alternatives and hence may give excessive decision making burden to the decision makers. In this paper, in order to reduce the decision making burden, a preference function based estimation method is proposed. We can expect that the MCDM based logistics brokerage agent can be used as an efficient and effective tool for e-logistics marketplaces on the internet.

Intangible Cost Influence on Business Performance of Wholesale and Retail Brokerage in Korea: Focusing on HRM, Marketing and CSR

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the Cost-Effectiveness Analysis (CEA) of wholesale and retail brokerage businesses in Korea. And give managerial implications and contribute to academics. Research design, data and methodology: This research empirically analyzes the relationship between expenses and business performance. As for business performance, this research considered two financial performances; sales and profit. As for antecedent variables, this research measured three cost investment expenses; human resource management (HRM), marketing (MKT) and corporate social responsibility (CSR). This research used frequency analysis, correlation analysis, stepwise regression analysis and curve estimation analysis. Results: The result shows that HRM and CSR positive significant influence on sales yet marketing negatively significant influence on sales. And for profit, HRM and CSR give a positive significant influence. However, marketing's influence was not significant. According to curve estimation analysis, the relation between individual cost and performance, best functional relation was all quadratic functions. Some results show ∩ shape and others show shape. Conclusions: Based on this study result, implications for practical management to Wholesale and Retail Brokerage companies in Korea. And the contribution to academics is expected. Also, based on the limitation of this study, future research is suggested.

Job Analysis of Real Estate Brokerage Business based on the AHP Method (AHP 기법에 의한 부동산중개업의 직무분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest the way of effective management of real estate brokerage business by establishing the Job Model in real estate brokerage business in Korea. The AHP method, designed for professionals in a field, is used to establish the Job Model. The main result and implication of the study are as follows. The study found that real estate brokers recognize the importance of getting knowledge and information about the patterns and changes of the real estate market and economy, for the effective management of real estate brokerage business. The study therefore suggest that it is necessary to provide the brokers with education chance for the knowledge about the real estate market and economy.

Analysis of Brokerage Commission Policy based on the Potential Customer Value (고객의 잠재가치에 기반한 증권사 수수료 정책 연구)

  • In this paper, we use three cluster algorithms (K-means, Self-Organizing Map, and Fuzzy K-means) to find proper graded stock market brokerage commission rates based on the cumulative transactions on both stock exchange market and HTS (Home Trading System). Stock trading investors for both modes are classified in terms of the total transaction as well as the corresponding mode of investment, respectively. Empirical analysis results indicated that fuzzy K-means cluster analysis is the best fit for the segmentation of customers of both transaction modes in terms of robustness. We then propose the rules for three grouping of customers based on decision tree and apply different brokerage commission to be 0.4%, 0.45%, and 0.5% for exchange market while 0.06%, 0.1%, 0.18% for HTS.

  • Knowledge transfer among employees integrates individual knowledge scattered within a firm, thus increases organizational effectiveness. In particular, the role of knowledge broker, which enables knowledge sharing across multiple teams or subunits, is critical for the success of knowledge management. This study classified the types of knowledge broker that facilitates knowledge flows among team, and examined the influences of various intra- and inter-team social networks. Survey responses from 128 employees of four R&D teams were gathered and analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling. The results of analysis showed that all types of inter-team networks(i.e., emotional closeness network, frequency of interaction network, and perceived expertise network) had significant influences on related knowledge brokerage behaviors. In case of intra-team networks, only the emotional closeness network showed significant influence. These results proved the necessity of managing various types of intra- and inter-team networks to encourage knowledge brokerage behaviors within a firm.

Soft Dollars and Conflicts of Interest in Equity Funds in Korea (소프트달러와 주식형 펀드의 이해상충)

  • This study analyzes the relationships between soft dollar(brokerage commission) and characteristics of funds, and between brokerage commission and return on funds, using the data on equity funds of Korea from June 2008 to November 2011. The result confirms a statistically significant negative relationship between management & sales fees and brokerage commission, meaning that rather than raising management & sales fees, which could be easily recognized by investors, it is through brokerage commission, a hidden cost, which asset management firms indirectly compensate for their services. Meanwhile, the analysis on the relationship between brokerage commission and return on funds reveals that higher brokerage commissions lead to lower return on funds, meaning at least in short-term no contribution to increasing returns in the future. These results suggest the need for streamlining the system to alleviate conflicts of interest between investors and management firms in addition to effectively controlling for principal-agent problems.
