However, there is lack of data in the case for wood cutting, such as cutting conditions and wood cutting. So this article is to establish furniture design processing using CNC. The researchers investigated the processed products using CNC, the data of the web site and CNC relevant articles, then organized its impact on the furniture industry today. History and definition of CNC have studied for a discussion of the advantages and disadvantages. Then, the researchers analyzed the cases to investigate the wood cutting conditions, was applied to the fabrication of furniture domestic and foreign. CNC organized systematically design information through the computer So, it allowed to reduce the repetitive behavior that has to work hand in the furniture manufacture existing. CNC has made it possible to design a fine complex in furniture design industry. So it became possible to make a new representation and production of various forms. Material about CNC are mostly for milling machine and shelves for metal processing. So, the researchers investigated and precautions general content of wood cutting. The enhanced understanding to investigate an example that is applied outside the country, is used to analyze the expression various techniques CNC. It is difficult to obtain accurate data processing, it has various characteristics in the same timber, Future research is about analyzing type applications and CNC machining range at the time of processing the various wood.

  • Research that reconstructs a 3D model from a freehand 2D sketch has gained attention since 1990s, when data integration in the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain was an important issue. However, 2D sketches in the conceptual design phase have not been integrated with the downstream CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC chain. In this paper, we present a method to interface a freehand sketch modeling to commercial CAD systems by mapping a sketch modeling history to the macro parametric history. We use an extended ISO10303-112 standard to represent the modeling history in a gestural modeling system and translate sketch files to neutral macro files. Macro parametric translators are used to translate netural macro files to commercial CAD files.

  • In ship building industry, CNC and CAM are mostly applied to NC cutting and manufacturing of propeller and prototype ship model. Herein, prototype ship model is producted by CAD/CAM process. Hull form data is obtained from the ship drawing and used for 3D modeling by CAD software Pro/Engineer. CAD data is transferred into CAM s/w SPEEDplus to perform CNC process and the prototype small ship model is manufactured by CNC machine. To solve data transfer among different systems. IGES and STEP neutral formats are currently used. Herein IGES format is adopted for data transfer between CAD/CAM softwares.

  • Seamless data integration in the CAx chain of the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC has been achieved to a high degree, but research concerning the transfer of data from conceptual sketches to a CAD system should be carried out further. This paper presents a method for reconstructing a 3D model from a freehand sketch. Sketch-based modeling research can be classified into gestural modeling methods and reconstructional modeling methods. This research involves the reconstructional modeling method. Here, Mitani's seminal work, designed for box-shaped 3D model using a predefined template, is improved by leveraging a relational template and specialized for automotive design. Matching between edge graphs of the relational template and the sketch is formulated and solved as the assignment problem using the feature vectors of the edges. Including the stroke preprocessing method required to generate an edge graph from a sketch, necessary procedures and relevant techniques for implementing the template-based modeling method are described. Examples from a working implementation are given.

  • Recently, there is a great demand for artificial teeth prostheses made of the materials which are sintered at $1500^{\circ}C$ such as zirconia ceramic. Since degree of strength of the materials is very high, however, it is very difficult for technicians to manually fabricate the prostheses for these ceramics. So the prostheses have been fabricated by using CNC(computer numerical control) machines. In doing them by using CNC, it is very important that the prostheses satisfying dentists's requirements are accurately modeled into 3D objects. In this paper, we propose an effective method for modeling single cores such as single caps and Conus cores, which are the main those of artificial teeth prostheses. And we also present the visual examples of 3D models for these single cores modeled by the proposed methods. In special, the method has used Minkowski sum and ZMap for modeling the single cores.

  • This study established the scope of the main contents and interpretation of wooden product design using the CNC manufacturing technology as well as the basic concepts of which were defined, accordingly. After coming up with the definition of the CNC wood manufacturing technology from the academic point of view, a design study, using the practical CNC manufacturing technology, was conducted by analyzing and summarizing the contents of each process. In addition, data research and analysis including review on literatures and case studies of existing products were promoted besides design development through application of the design concepts, ergonomics, principle of molding, etc. Ultimately, this study suggested the step-by-step procedure in design drawing, 3D modeling, CAD/CAM data production, CNC manufacturing, and prototype completion together with figures. Through this, the study proposed a standard manufacturing guideline for wood product design using digital manufacturing technology. Base on such efforts, the advantages and points for improvement in product design using CNC manufacturing technology and the future direction of development were forwarded. Meanwhile, a prototype image that was developed through collaborative efforts between the academic circle and field workers was presented to help the case study on the wooden product design technique using CNC.

  • In this paper, the CNC cutting planning module for product with three dimensional solid shape is realized to develop a smart CAD/CAM system which performs systematically from the shape design of procuct by the B-Rep solid modeler to the CNC cutting of product by a machining center. The three dimensional solid shape of product can be easily designed and constructed by the Euler operators and Boolean operators of the solid modeler. And the various functions such as the automatic generation of tool path for the rough and finish cutting processes, the automatic elimination of overcut, the automatic generation of CNC code for the machining center and do on, are established. Especially, the overcut-free tool paths are obtained by splitting the CL solid which is composed of the offset surfaces of the solid shape of product.

  • A performance of CNC 3-axis pipe profile-cutting machine we developed was evaluated by measuring and verifying a positioning accuracy of its feeding unit and a cutting shape accuracy of pipe workpiece. The positioning accuracy was verified by comparing moving distance actuated by PLC motion controller with actual one measured by a laser interferometer. The cutting shape accuracy was also verified by comparing a cutting shape obtained through scanning and 3D modeling the pipe workpiece with that through CL data.

  • Ever since the local interior and architecture design industry adopted Digital fabrication modeling tool for its design operation in early 1990's, working environment has been changing. The Purpose of study is to analyze the digital Architecture fabrication modeling for digital design education in academy course. Digital Design Tools, Digital Space and Form, Digital Materiality and Digital Production. The Digital fabrication modeling is and important role in a traditional design process and digital design process. It is comprised of digital input devices(3D digitizer, 3D design tools) and digital output devices(cutting plotters, laser cut, CNC machines, 3D printers). Digital input devices can be shift a traditional design process to digital design process. Digital output devices are the principle of digital fabrication by CAD/CAM. Also, the result of this study provide the fundamental data for physical resources and digital design curriculum in KAAB.
