The electrical safety and efficiency is the most important thing of the electric vehicle charging system. The prior system is contact charging system that is contacted directly by human. So, it has riskiness such as electric shock in the case of poor insulation or contact problems. To solve these safety issues and the convenience problems, a wireless power transmission system has been developed and is currently in trial operation. However, because high frequency is used in wireless power transmission system instead of commercial frequency, we need to apply protection measures concerning electric shock and equipment protection. Also, it should be accompanied by measuring efficiency for the effective operation of the wireless power transmission system. Therefore, we structured monitoring system in trial operation area of wireless power transmission system and applied decision algorithm for protection of human and equipment and economic operation of it.

The design of a battery package and a BMS module for applications using seawater rechargeable batteries, which are known as next-generation energy storage devices, is proposed herein. Seawater rechargeable batteries, which are currently in the initial stage of research, comprise primarily components such as anode and cathode materials. Their application is challenging owing to their low charge capacity and limited charge/discharge voltage and current. Therefore, we design a method for packaging multiple cells and a BMS module for the safe charging and discharging of seawater rechargeable batteries. In addition, a prototype seawater rechargeable battery package and BMS module are manufactured, and their performances are verified by evaluating the prevention of overcharge, overdischarge, overcurrent, and short circuit during charging and discharging.

This study compares the criteria of earth leakage breakers (ELB) and analyzes the characteristics of an Igc-free ELB operated by an active component which is not misoperated by capacitive current. Even for the same ELB, the earth leakage current flowing through the human body is estimated to be differ greatly depending on the power source, voltage, location and status of contact, contact time duration, etc. Earth leakage breakers are classified based on the rated voltage, rated sensing current, rated operating time etc. Mounting and demounting of the existing equipment can be performed easily since an $I_{gc}$-free ELB is manufactured with the same structure as a conventional ELB. The rated operating current of a conventional and an $I_{gc}$-free ELB is 30mA, the sensing current is 25mA and the rated non-operating current is 15mA. In the analysis of non-operating current characteristics, the rated non-operating current of 15mA was satisfied up to a 20mA charging current in the conventional ELB, but does not satisfy the rated non-operating current as it operates when the resistive leakage current is lower than 15mA for a charging current exceeding 20mA. Also, the ELB is misoperated without a resistive leakage current when the charging current exceeded 25mA. However, the newly developed $I_{gc}$-free ELB satisfied the rated non-operating current even when the charging current was 60mA. Also, in comparison to the interrupting characteristics, it was confirmed that the charging current satisfying the rated non-operating current of the $I_{gc}$-free ELB was three times higher than that of the conventional ELB.

Industrial machines have constraints on movement due to its wire for power supply. Recently, the research on wireless power supply for industrial machine which is required to move freely is receiving a lot of attention. In this paper, we suggest a magnetic induction system which can charge a equipment's battery with wireless at a close range. The system was designed to operate at 13.56 MHz and a distance of 20~30 mm between the transmitting and the receiving power module. From experiment, it was found that it takes about 135 minutes for charging the battery with about 15 V using the proposed system.

Restricted by finite battery energy, traditional wireless sensor networks (WSNs) can only maintain for a limited period of time, resulting in serious performance bottleneck in long-term deployment of WSN. Fortunately, the advancement in the wireless energy transfer technology provides a potential to free WSNs from limited energy supply and remain perpetual operational. A mobile charger called wireless charging vehicle (WCV) is employed to periodically charge each sensor node and keep its energy level above the minimum threshold. Aiming at maximizing the ratio of the WCV's vocation time over the cycle time as well as guaranteeing the perpetual operation of networks, we propose a feasible and optimal solution to this issue within the context of a real-time large-scale deployed WSN. First, we develop two different types of charging cycles: initialization cycles and renewable cycles and give relevant algorithms to construct these two cycles for each sensor node. We then formulate the optimization problem into an optimal construction algorithm and prove its correctness through theoretical analysis. Finally, we conduct extensive simulations to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms.

Many generating units can be in parallel connection to one battery and inverter. However, one of the biggest problems we encountered is that wind speed is fluctuated sharply in accordance with the unstable weather conditions. To solve this problem, we need energy storage equipment such as storage lead-acid battery. We design a system and analyze its modeling so that it supplies a stable power to the load through DC-AC inverter part. In this paper, we applied dual step-up/down buck-boost converter and dual high-frequency half-bridge converter to the proposed system. These converters are used to store energy in the battery regardless of the change of the wind speed. The operation process of two proposed types of converters for high-power battery charging is discussed along with simulation and experimental result. We design a charging circuit which is applicable in the actual wind power generation system for 30kw and confirm the circuit's validity.
Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment(EVSE) is a system or an equipment to supply electric power for charging the traction batteries on the electric vehicle. Control Pilot is an electric signal generated by EVSE and is transmitted to the electric vehicle by a vehicle coupler and a contact. The duty cycle of control pilot determines the maximum current to be drawn by electric vehicle. When the duty cycle is 5%, it is indicated that digital communication is needed. This paper deals with the data format and definition about communication scheduling through the inband signal on the control pilot of EVSE.
As electric power systems have been moving from vertically integrated utilities to a deregulated environment, the charging of reactive power management is a new challenging theme for market operators. This paper proposes a new methodology to compute the costs of providing reactive power management service in a competitive electrical power market. The proposed formulation, which is basically different from those shown in the literature, consists of two parts. One is to recover investment capital costs of reactive power supporting equipment based on a reactive power flow tracing algorithm. The other is to recover operational costs based on variable spot prices using the optimal power flow algorithm. The charging shapes resulted from the proposed approach exhibit a quite good meaning viewed from a practical sense. It turns out that reactive power charges are mostly due to recovery of capital costs and slightly due to recovery of operational costs. The method can be useful in providing additional insight into power system operation and can be used to determine tariffs of a reactive power management service.
This study was developed through the secondary battery module charging/discharger possible utilization in the production process equipment circuit. The developed module is ensuring construction of efficient and productive charging and discharger through this research a limit on the yield and the price of existing single -channel charge and discharger circuit as a 5V 70A grade secondary battery Formation charge and discharger for up to 1 board 4 channels. In order to improve the sensing accuracy, through a robust differential amplifier circuit described using 16bit Analog-Digital Converter and noise was secured 16bit resolution sensing. The configuration also made demands for property Rise / Fall Time. Data Acquisition, discharge efficiency and also to fit the sink circuit temperature level for mass production.

In this paper, we investigated the surface degradation of HTV silicone rubber used for a polymeric insulator by UV irradiation. To study the surface ageing properties by W irradiation, we used the corona discharge charging and contact angle. Therefore, we observed the change of surface charge retention and decrease of surface hydrophobicity. Also, we discussed the chemical change in the surface range using the analytic equipment such as SEM, ATR-FTIR, ESCA. Therefore, it is found that the scissor of characteristic bonding and the reattachment of oxidant bonding was developed by UV rays radiation. As discussing the corona ischarge charging and the change of contact angle, it is found the effect of UV irradiation and the mechanism of chemical reaction
