Cognitive-behavioral approach can be clinically applied to coping with stress, because cognitions are playing a central mediating role in the occurances of stress and stress reactions. In other words, cognitive distortions can be associated with causing and/or maintaining psychopathology. The goal of cognitive-behavioral approach is to help the patients identify and alter cognitive distortions and maladaptive assumptions. This approach is aimed not at curing but rather at helping the patients to develop better coping strategies to deal with their life and work. The cognitive-behavioral techniques often used in this approach include problem solving, hypothesis-testing, self-monitoring, cognitive challenges, generating alternatives to automatic cognitive distortions, self-instruction, attribution and reattribution, and techniques to control or suppress thoughts. This approach is considered to be helpful for treatment and prevention of psychiatric disorders including psychosomatic disorders, in which stress can greatly affect their onset and course.

It is well known that the web design is composed of several factors which are interacting with each other. However, the current approach to web design had been focused on modifying specific factors without considering its impact on other factors. In this sense, we propose more holistic approach to the web design by using fuzzy cognitive map. For this purpose, we form an illustrative fuzzy cognitive map for the web design which is based on the literature, and analyzed and impact of change in a specific factor on other factors. Especially, to improve the output analyzability, we suggested an advanced version of fuzzy cognitive map called stratified fuzzy cognitive map. After simulating the fuzzy cognitive map for web design, we could conclude that our approach is robust and effective compared to the traditional web design approach.

Cognitive-behavioral approach to two cases with chronic headache was presented. Cognitive-behavioral interventions focus on indirectly altering symptom-related physiological activity by changing the way patients cope with headache-eliciting stressors. This treatment focuses directly on the patients' cognitive and behavioral changes. Cognitive-behavioral treatment can be divided into three phases Education, self-monitoring, and problem-solving or coping-skills training. Literature reviews on the follow-up evaluation of therapeutic effectiveness revealed that cognitive-behavioral treatment is effective in the management of chronic headache.

This study investigates the difference of the cognitive approach of Korean and Chines of the space direction that modern Chinese space phrase 'N+shang'. For this, we defined the spatial meaning of the noun 'N' and space noun 'shang' then investigate the conditions when 'N+shang' means 'the substance interior direction' and 'the substance exterior direction'. Also via 'lou+shang', we conducted the survey to Korean and Chinese students in order to see the what kind of cognitive differences be shown when they approach and translate the space direction of 'N+shang' structure. As a result of the survey, we were able to find cultural difference of spatial approach of 'N+shang' between these two countries, Korean select the cognitive inference path; from the substance external direction to internal direction while Chinese select from internal to external.

The author reviewed cognitive-behavioral approach to A type behavior pattern and hypertension which are known to be risk factors for coronary heart diseases. Those cognitive distortions frequently found in persons with A type behavior include all-nothing thinking, selective attention, personalization, and attribution of causality. Cognitive-behavioral techniques were also described, which can be applied to management of each characteristic of A type behavior pattern such as time urgency, perfectionism, achievement striving, low self-esteem, excessive work involvement, hostility, and depression. Cognitive-behavioral intervention for hypertension might help the patients to recognize and monitor anger-engendering conflicts, identify characteristic styles of responding, and experiment with alternative ways of managing conflict and anger. Since different features predominate in different individuals, it is necessary to develop treatment plan on the basis of individual characteristics and problems.

Green growth policy is essentially a dilemmatic policy, because it has two fundamental but conflicting values, environment vs. economy. In this paper, how the dilemma in the green growth policy is perceived by the policy maker is analyzed. Two approach is taken to analyze the dilemma perception by the policy maker, the president of Korea. The first approach is an analysis of policy statements by the president, and the second approach is a cognitive map analysis of his statements. This paper discusses the different findings between two approach and points out the potential power of the cognitive map in finding policy dilemmas.

The present study investigation the effect of a project approach program on children's cognitive styles. It examined closely the characteristics and processes of the project approach program to determine its impact on children's individual cognitive styles such as divergent thinking, field independence, and reflection. The subjects were 384-year-old children. Eighteen children were assigned to the experimental group and twenty to the control group. Pretest-treatment-posttest design was adopted for this study. Collected data were analyzed with SPSS Win 10.0 and processed statistically using average, standard deviation, and ANCOVA. For the children's divergent thinking, the children with the project approach program showed significant difference in fluency and flexibility, but no difference in originality and elaboration, compared to the children in the control group. Children with the project approach program showed more field independence than those in the control group. Children with the project approach program showed no difference in reflection. These results showed that the project approach pro!3ram partly influenced the children's cognitive styles.

In this study the author examines the health information seeking behavior of older adults from the perspective of cognitive load. Using a qualitative method, based on ground theory, data were collected using in-depth interviews. Twenty-eight participants were participating older adults living in G community city, South Korea who experienced seeking health information. Interview transcripts were analyzed using a qualitative thematic coding framework. Three themes describing older adults' health information seeking behaviors were focused: intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The findings are geared towards the context of older adults' information seeking to support an understanding of successful information seeking behaviors in this population and to contribute to their health and well-being. The intent is to present information on current research in the field of Library and Information Science and to demonstrate how a cognitive load approach can be used to address the problems of older adults' health information seeking behaviors.

Cognitive small cell networks, consisting of macro-cells and small cells, are foreseen as a promising candidate solution to address 5G spectrum scarcity. Recently, many technological issues (such as spectrum sensing, spectrum sharing) related to cognitive small cell networks have been studied, but the common control channel (CCC) establishment problem has been ignored. CCC is an indispensable medium for control message exchange that could have a huge significant on transmitter-receiver handshake, channel access negotiation, topology change, and routing information updates, etc. Therefore, establishing CCC in cognitive small cell networks is a challenging problem. In this paper, we propose a potential game theory-based approach for CCC establishment in cognitive radio networks. We design a utility function and demonstrate that it is an exact potential game with a pure Nash equilibrium. To maintain the common control channel list (CCL), we develop a CCC update algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach has good convergence. On the other hand, it exhibits good delay and overhead of all networks.

The researchers of this study closely looked into the methods for cognitive-scientific approach to problems of marine design at a time when the overall values of marine cultures are acknowledged in full scale. To that end, the researchers analyzed the problems and problem-solving process for the initial approach to marine design. At the same time, the researchers made the matrix of the design-developmental directions by cognitive scientific approach. After selecting the subjects, the researchers collected verbal protocol and behavior protocol which were shown in the process of a designer's thinking. This was for the sake of protocol analysis which is the representative research technique of cognitive science. Based on the collected data, the researchers empirically analyzed the behavior patterns shown in the marine design process so as to develop the design behavior-graph pattern of designers in an objective and systematic way. The behavior graph was helpful for looking into the initial developmental directions of design and for predicting cognitive structure of designers. The researchers hope that this study will become a fundamental material for predicting cognitive directions of designer for planning and designing the marine design.
