U-City related researches and development have been actively conducted in Korea since 2002. According to the Act on Ubiquitous City Construction, "U-City" is defined as "the city to provide ubiquitous service anytime anywhere through the existing ubiquitous backbone systems and ubiquitous technologies, ultimately for the purpose of improving urban competitiveness and quality of life. This research explains the plan to develop collective management technology for integrated operation of U-Space which makes up U-City. Specifically, this report is intended to suggest basic approach of identifying collective management elements of each U-Space type, developing integrated management system and creating interface module to link the system with urban integrated operation center.

Because many scientific applications require large data processing, the importance of parallel I/O has been increasingly recognized. Collective I/O is one of the considerable features of parallel I/O and enables application programmers to easily handle their large data volume. In this paper we measure and analyze the performance of original collective I/Os and the subgroup method, the way of using collective I/O of MPI effectively. From the experimental results, we found that the two kinds of subgroup method showed different performance. In terms of collective write operation, the subgroup method caused the performance degradation. However, the subgroup method for collective read showed good performance with small data size.

IBM developed the MPI-IO, we call it MPI-2, on the General Parallel File System. We designed and implemented various Matrix Multiplication Benchmarks to evaluate its performances. The MPI-IO on the General Parallel File System shows four kinds of data access methods : the non-collective and blocking, the collective and blocking, the non-collective and non-blocking, and the split collective operation. In this paper, we propose benchmarks to measure the IO time and the computation time for the data access methods. We describe not only its implementation but also the performance evaluation results.

Why the National Assembly of Korea shows the serious disagreements or arguments in its operation? Regarding the question, this study pays attention to the perceptual differences among the parties for the structure of collective decision-making in the National Assembly of Korea. In addition, this study asserts that deepens the conflicts and the distrust in it. To be more specific, this study discusses about the optimal model for collective decision-making in legislative politics based on Buchanan and Tullock's opinion about it. And then, the trust in legislature forms the basis that makes it possible to respect the will of majority and protect the right of minority. The main reason that can't make the collective decision-making optimally in the National Assembly of Korea is to fight each other without the consensus about it. In this vein, making the collective decision-making optimally and recovering the trust among the parties are necessary to adopt a more consensual system. It will be helpful to prevent the use of noninstitutional means like the outside struggles or physical resistances in the National Assembly of Korea.

This study is the analysis of causes of printed circuit board (PCB) in collective protection equipment failure and quality improvement. The equipment is a component of the weapon system currently in operation and serves to defend against enemy chemical and biological attack as well as heating and cooling functions. However, during operation in the military, fans of condensate assembly failed to operate. The cause of the failure is the burning of PCB. It was found that the parts were heated according to the continuous cooling operation under the high temperature environmental conditions. Accordingly, the electronic components exposed to high temperature were deteriorated and destroyed. To solve this problem, PCB apply to heatsink. The performance test of improved PCB has been completed. Futhermore system compatibility, positive pressure maintenance and noise test were performed. This improvement confirmed that no faults have occurred in PCB so far. Therefore, the quality of the equipment has improved.

The purpose of this study was to examine dental hygienists' knowledge of implant operation, which is recently emerging as one of the important medical services in the dental treatment sector. It's ultimately intended to serve as a basis for the preparation of more effective, appropriate implant-education programs for dental hygienists and to help them, who take a crucial part in implant operation, provide better dental services to patients who are in need of implant operation. The subjects in this study were 368 selected dental hygienists who were working in the dental institutions in the region of Taegu. The results of this study were as below: 1. The largest number of the dental hygienists investigated, 34.1%, were at age 25 to 27. The second most common age was 24 and under, and the third most common age group was 28 to 30. For educational level, most of them, 91.0%, were junior-college graduates, and 9.0% were being in or graduated from four-year-course university. Concerning career, 52.7%, the greatest percentage, had worked for one to three years, and 41.3% had a four-year or higher career. 812%, most of them, were working in dental clinics, and 18.3% were serving in dental hospital or general hospital. 2. Many of the dental institutions were providing implant operation services, as the dental institutions where 64.9% of the subjects were working conducted implant operation. In relation to the necessity of implant operation, the dominant opinion, 73.0%, was thai it's needed to make oral slate healthier. So there was a strong tendency to ad mit implant as one of the necessary treatments in the dental treatment sector. 3. Their collective mean implant knowledge got $57.02{\pm}14.11$. And the collective average of 21 items was $2.7153{\pm}0.6720$ on the basis of 5 points, which was below the average(3 points of Likert scale). This meant that the dental hygienists didn't have a good knowledge or understanding of implant. When it's taken into account what role should be performed by dental hygienists, their implant knowledge should be increased. 4. As a result of examining the effect of the general characteristics on their implant knowledge, the educational level(t=-3.481, P=0.001) and the type of dental institution where they were working(F=16.476, P=0.001) made a significant difference. 5. Their implant knowledge was significantly different according to whether or not the dental institution they were serving conducted implant operation (t=7.199, P=0.001). And, whether or not they agreed to the necessity of implant operation also generated a significant difference to their implant knowledge(F=8.610, P=0.000).

The road traffic noise becomes aggravated due to the rapid increase of motor vehicles. It has a great effect on the dwelling environment. Therefore we investigate the characteristics and sources of the motor vehicle noise through grasping the status of the motor vehicle noise. Traffic noise results from the collective contribution of the noise produced by individual motor vehicles. The motor vehicle noise varies enormously depending upon its type and mode of operation.

In this paper, we introduce IEC 60300(Dependability program management) into urban transit system, and propose effective method to apply IEC 60300 to Subway Corporation. The dependability is the collective term used to describe the availability performance and its influencing factors such as reliability performance, maintainability performance and maintenance support performance. A dependability program covers all phases of a system's life cycle from planning to operation and possibly disposal, and is composed of program elements divided into tasks.
