An Empirical Study of Two-Way Effects on Country Image of KOREA and Corporate Image - A Focus on Chinese Consumer of SAMSUNG Electronics - (한국 국가이미지와 기업이미지간의 상호효과에 대한 실증연구 -삼성전자의 중국소비자를 중심으로-)

  • IThis research meets with empirical results in pursuit of aim as below mentioned. Firstly, it gets a line on two-way effects which have an effect on both (the country image and corporate image) by using the corporate image for the study of the country image. After making an analysis of the empirical test, found out that the corporate image has influence upon the country image significantly. Also found out that the country image has an effect on the corporate image powerfully. Therefore, it effects an inspection of evidence that the country image and corporate image have significantly positive concern, each other. Secondly, it is offering the way to use the culture marketing as grasping the mediating effects, which culture difference has influence upon the country image and the corporate image. The mediating effects show that the country image has influence on the corporate image more as culture difference is bigger.

  • This research paper studied the effect of corporate CEO's image on brand value. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the change in corporate value following the legal arrest of Samsung Electronics CEO. To demonstrate the legal restraint of Samsung Electronics CEO and change in brand value, the argument was made based on analysis data evaluated by the Korea Industrial Policy Institute and Interbrand. In the case of Samsung Electronics, even in 2017 after CEO Lee Jae-yong was arrested, the brand value of Samsung Electronics rose 9% from the previous year to reach $56.2 billion. In 2020, it ranked fifth, and in the first half of 2021, while CEO Lee Jae-yong was arrested, Samsung Electronics ranked fifth in value. In this study, Samsung Electronics' production and brand value continued to rise after the 2000s regardless of the CEO's legal restraint. As a result of this study, Samsung Electronics revealed that the company's management and brand value have been established regardless of the legal restraint of the CEO.

  • Recently the trade show is a massive marketing effort of a particular industry and introduces new products to potential customers, as well as the ability to elevate the brand's image and corporate identity. It is increasing its importance as a venue of communication. In these changes, the exhibition is required to have the emotional approach to enhance the dynamic and creative image of companies. Therefore, the product itself as well as the importance of various visual contents of the exhibition is increasing positive effect of the image and marketing on their products. In this sense, this study analyzes video contents of the exhibition that was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Europe's largest display show 'ISE (Integrated Systems Europe)' in 2013, focusing on the domestic company, Samsung, LG Electronics and other four foreign companies. The analysis is based on the Herbert Zettl's applied media aesthetics related to the video contents, through which we can find the way to the development of exhibition video contents making for Trade show.

  • Recently, the amount of image and audio data has been increasing dramatically for high performance. According to this trend, a high-density magnetic recording system is necessitated and the tracks of magnetic tapes are getting narrower. This, in turn, requires the capstan servo system of the magnetic recording system such as DVCR to control precisely the speed and position of the capstan motor. Especially, in case of play-back, the capstan servo system should be able to position and maintain the head on the desired place of the track. To meet this requirement, digital camcorders use ATF (Automatic Track Following). In this paper, a new ATF block using discrete Fourier transform is proposed. The proposed ATF block was designed and implemented in ALTERA FPGA chips and fully tested in a real DVCR system. It is shown through experiments that the new ATF block is more cost-effective than other existing ATF blocks using digital lowpass filters. In particular, the number of logic gates can be reduced by 20% in average, compared to the existing ATF's.

  • In the past, companies concentrated their efforts on developing new technologies and producing new products. But new technologies in this information age do not make difference any more comparing to other companies. In this marketing environment, a company must appeal strongly their own image to the customers' brains to make better difference than other companies do. One of the best way to make their own image in the customer's brains might be outgrowing themselves of the one-way communication such as the printed-media or broadcast-media and preparing some space such as advertisement halls or pavilions where customers and companies meet each other and make mutual communications between both of them. Therefore, we need to study systematically on the design elements in the advertisement halls or pavilions. To begin with, we should lully understand the basic idea by looking up the reference literature. We case-studied on the basic of constructive elements of advertise halls of both SAMSUNG and LG Electronics Co. The purpose of this study is to realize that we can transfer effectively the company's image to the customers only if we fully understand company's business philosophy and vision in advance to start design the advertisement hails. We should also realize that it is also important to manage systematically the company's design strategic elements' to achieve its changing goals in more logical and scientifically way.

  • This study is about what process and methodology could make UI designer be able to achieve the interface which considers user's mental model through implementing corporate line-up model, when people design an interface between product of multi-function printer and user. The most important concern of UI designers who are dealing with an interface between product and user is how they can make product system image match user's mental model so that users can utilize products without any confusion and discomfort. If concept model which designers bring up and mental model which users expect and recognize could be of one accord, then users can feel ease of use toward products. The understanding and observation for user behavior and use pattern is prerequisite to develop user-centered interface between product and user. However, UI designers do design interface from their own perspective and assumption in many business areas, and users do not react as designers assumed and intended in many cases or examples. This study is to find inappropriate system images against users' mental model on basic function of multi-function printer, and the relationship of system image and user's mental model is diagramed to build up a hypothesis. The hypothesis from this study is validated through evaluation of domestic and international users. In addition, two suggestions to improve usability problems revealed from user test are proposed. The optimal solution is designed based on the result of user evaluation and consideration of many user environments, and then it is implemented to line-up product. In conclusion, this study considers how UI designers can create system image which is close to user's mental model.

  • 본 논문에서는 영상의 텍스쳐 정보를 이용하여 일반 영상에 대한 내용기반 영상 검색을 수행할 수 있는 알고리듬을 제안한다. Gabor 웨이브렛 변환을 이용하여 Gabor 필터 뱅크 내의 각 필터에 의해 필터링된 대역의 평균과 표준편차를 영상의 특징 벡터(Gabor Texture Feature)로 추출하여 영상들간의 유사성을 계산하는데 사용한다. 논문의 목적이 영상에 가해진 외적 변형, 즉 잡음 첨가, 블러링, 샤프닝 등과 같은 변형에 강인하게 동작할 수 있는 텍스쳐 특징 기반 영상 검색 기법을 제안하는 것이므로, 기존의 Gabor 필터만을 사용하여 텍스쳐 특징을 추출하여 검색의 기준으로 삼을 경우에 발생할 수 있는 주파수 성분의 변화에 대한 민감성을 Daubechies의 웨이브렛 필터를 사용하여 낮은 해상도에서 영상을 해석함으로써, 외적 변형에 대하여도 강인하게 동작할 수 있는 알고리듬을 제시하였다. 기존의 텍스쳐를 이용한 검색이 주로 텍스쳐 영역(textured region)에 대한 해석만을 하였지만, 본 논문에서는 이를 일반 영상에 적용하였으며, 일반 영상에 대해서도 효율적인 검색을 수행할 수 있음을 보였다.
