  • As COVID-19 has led to a surge in e-commerce Buy Now Pay Later(BNPL) has become preferred choice among millennials. In Korea Coupang followed by Naver Pay offers a deferred payment, aiming to create customer lock-in effect, save credit card processing fee and lay the groundwork for entering into new financial services. However the literature related to the influential factors of customers' usage intention toward a deferred payment is scarce. For the study, a multi-group analysis was carried out to find differences between Naver shopping and Coupang. The results revealed that the important factors that affect a deferred payment adoption were compatibility, impulsive buying tendency in Naver shopping, whereas compatibility, relative advantage, additional value in Coupang(listed in order of most important). In addition, impulsive buying tendency had a positive effect on adoption intention in Naver shopping and on perceived risk in Coupang. The results imply that Naver shopping need to focus on managing delinquency while Coupang should provide sufficient information on how late fees and credit rating downgrade work and try not to make a deferred payment option stand out. In order to increase adoption rate it is recommendable to narrow down target segment of a deferred payment and expand it to a specialized vertical such as travel.

  • Logistics centers, distribution centers, or warehouse facilities increasingly dominate urban and suburban landscapes, their enormous but blank, repetitive facades completely overshadowing adjacent buildings. Mostly ignored by architects, this new building type symbolically represents the arrival of post-anthropocene, or post-urbicene era of architecture, in which an increasing portion of our built environment will not be intended for human occupancy, but rather for use by machines and artificial intelligence. As a new wave of logistics centers are becoming more automated, and more supersized, it is important to deepen architects' understanding of the organizational logic and programming factors that inform the overall design decisions for these facilities. With a particular focus on three case studies--Coupang, E-Mart, and Amazon Fulfillment Centers, this research examines the current trends in automation and expansion of logistics centers, and offers an analysis and forecast for future facilities in South Korea.

  • In a recent study, the phenomena of attention being drawn to the media business, particularly over-the-top (OTT) services, was the focus. Particularly, after the Squid Game was broadcast in September 2021, the total number of Netflix users had topped 213.6 million since the company first entered the domestic market. Domestic companies have also introduced OTT services like 'Wave', 'Tving', and 'Watcha Play' to capitalize on this market trend. However, questions persist about how Korea's native OTT providers, both large and small, are being harmed by Netflix's strong financial position and massive content quantity. In order to offer realistic performance metrics, we analyze Coupang Play among domestic OTT service providers after reviewing the business model and management strategy of representative OTT service firms.

Structural model verification reveals that discount benefit, delivery benefit, and opportunity loss significantly impact the perceived value in Coupang Rocket Wow, while discount benefit, point benefit, and fee significantly influence the perceived value in Naver Plus membership. The perceived value of both memberships positively influences the intention to continue using the respective e-commerce platforms. A comparison highlights a significant difference in the impact of opportunity loss on perceived value between Coupang Rocket Wow and Naver Plus memberships.

We utilize a balanced random-forest algorithm to develop an efficient bike insurance fraud detection model. As a result, while the predictive performance of balanced random-forest model is superior than it of non-balanced model. There is no significant difference between the variables used by the experts and the confirmatory models. • Given to the prevalence of social commerce such as Groupon, Ticketmonster, and Coupang, it has become critical to understand customer purchasing behavior in social commerce environments. When consumers make purchasing decisions in social commerce, they often act impulsively. This is because social commerce is a deal-of-the-day website that features discounted gift certificates usable at local companies. However, the vast majority of social commerce research has viewed consumer decision-making as a rational process. This study develops a theoretical framework to investigate key drivers of customer's impulsive purchasing in social commerce. This study identifies flow, positive emotion, negative emotion, social commerce attractiveness, and discounted price as the key antecedents of impulsive purchasing. Data collected from 164 users who had prior purchasing experiences with social commerce were empirically tested against the research model using partial least squares analysis. The analysis results indicate that flow plays an important role in facilitating customers' impulsive purchasing in social commerce environments. Moreover, the findings show the exact roles of positive emotion, negative emotion, social commerce attractiveness, and discounted price on consumer's impulsive purchasing.
