This research also tries to find practical strategies and principles for the cruise line industry by reviewing the current itinerary in the cruise line industry. Research design, data, and methodology: Because this study is exploratory research, it first reviews trends in global tourism, ocean tourism, and the cruise line industry. Then, this study compares the current status of cruise line industry in South Korea with those in Japan. Lastly, existing cruise itineraries are reviewed for practical strategies and principles. Results: Based on reviewing the example of a cruise ship itinerary from the cruise ship company, possible cruise line programs at stopover places are suggested for the Port of Incheon and if the program is planted, it will boost Incheon's economy and tourism industry. Conclusion: Basic data about tourism in coastal regions and data analyses are lacking. Therefore, this study not only recommends further research in itinerary development or evaluation of cruise stopover programs, but also future research should explore the impact of the cruise industry from many different perspectives.

The data analysis period was from January $1^{st}$, 2015 to August $15^{th}$, 2017, meanwhile, "cruise tour, china", "cruise tour, usa" were conducted to be as keywords to collet related data and packaged Netdraw along with UCINET 6.0 were utilized for data analysis. Currently, Chinese cruisers concern on the cruising destinations while American cruisers pay more attention on the onboard experience and cruising expenditure. After performing CONCOR (convergence of iterated correlation) analysis, for Chinese cruise tour, there were three clusters created with domestic destinations, international destinations and hospitality tourism. As for American cruise tour, four groups have been segmented with cruise expenditure, onboard experience, cruise brand and destinations. Since the cruise tourism of America was greatly developed, this study also was supposed to provide significant and social network-oriented suggestions for Chinese cruise tourism.

  • Tourism is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in the world, and is a major industry in many developed and developing countries. It is an increasingly important source of income, employment and wealth in many countries. However, its rapid expansion has also had detrimental environmental and socio-cultural impacts over many regions. Like tourism, the rapid growth in cruise tourism has also put greater pressures on environmental and cultural resources in cruise-ship ports of call. Through this paper, we would like to argue that more emphasis should be given to minimize national and international environmental impacts originated from cruise tourism with preparing infrastructures for sustainable tourism.

  • Along with a general growth in living standards there has been a corresponding increase in the demand for tourism. Cruise based tourism, in particular, has become one of the most dynamic and dramatic growth sectors in the tourism industry over the last 20 years, including in the Northeast Asian region. In line with the growth of passenger numbers, the number of cruise ships and their berth capacities has increased significantly since the late 1970s. Korea, as a peninsular nation, has also experienced a rapid growth in cruise passenger numbers. The national economy has greatly benefited from this as the industry acts as an income generator, creating new jobs and potential investments and in developing local tourism. Ports play an important role in the development of any national cruise industry, providing not only ship berths but supply and bunkering facilities and a gateway to local tourism opportunities. The selection of the optimal cruise port location is an important and complex problem because the decision makers have to consider a large number of criteria which have a significant effect on the economy, environment, human life, and society. This paper investigates those criteria that are significant in developing a successful cruise port by employing a questionnaire survey of major cruise port users - shipping companies and tourism companies. The ports, surveyed in this study are Busan, Incheon, Yeosu and Jeju. All have been identified as important potential cruise ports in the Korean Government's 'The 3rd Port Basic Plan (2011-2020)'.

  • As the transfer of cargo functions to Gwangyang Port is completed, Yeosu Port has established a vision to become a hub for maritime tourism in Korea. Revitalization of the marine tourism industry through cruise development is recognized as a major strategy. Major domestic cruise tourism ports (Busan Port, Jeju Port, Incheon Port) have established a basic plan for fostering port cruises in response to the "Basic Plan for the Promotion of the Cruise Industry" established in 2016. However, the plan for Yeosu Port is insufficient. The cruise tourism industry, which is in recession due to Corona 19, is expected to recover due to with-Corona and Post-Corona. Therefore, Yeosu Port needs to take the lead in promoting the cruise industry to prepare for this. Accordingly, this study intends to derive evaluation items for the fostering of the Yeosu Port cruise industry through prior research and the gathering of expert opinions. An IPA (Importance Performance Analysis) analysis is conducted to identify problems and suggest promoting policies for the Yeosu Port cruise industry. According to the IPA analysis results, in the major categories, the creation of cruise infrastructure, and the establishment of a support system were evaluated as weak items (high importance but low satisfaction), and sub-categories corresponding to the two major categories were identified as weak points. Based on the results of this analysis, measures to promote the cruise industry in Yeosu Port were presented as cruise infrastructure, route expansion, tourism product development, and support system. This study is expected to be utilized when establishing policies for constructing Yeosu Port as the hub port of maritime tourism in Korea.

To achieve the research aim, the A'WOT (SWOT-AHP) method was adopted in this study focusing on Jeju cruise industry. As a result of analysis, the strength factor (0.421) was the most important thing among the proposed factors. And, opportunity (0.348), weakness (0.135), and threat (0.096) factors were calculated in turn. Based on the A'WOT analysis, the most urgent thing among the strategy alternatives was 'Installation of dedicated department for Jeju cruise industry'. Accordingly, this result can be utilized as the fundamental data in order to make an optimal decision following by the environmental changes in Jeju cruise industry.
