  • In this paper, We send DDoS(Distributed Denial of Service) attack traffic to real homepages in real networks. We analyze the results of DDoS attack and propose mitigation method against DDoS Attacks. In order to analyze the results of DDoS Attacks, We group three defense level by administrative subjects: Top level defense, Middle level defense, Bottom level defense. Also We group four attack methods by feature. We describe the results that average of attack success rate on defense level and average of attack success rate on attack categories about 48ea homepages and 2ea exceptional cases. Finally, We propose mitigation method against DDoS attack.

  • Traditional DDoS defence methods are performed at server side which was attacked. If servers detect DDoS attack, they use some methods for defending the attack such as increasing the bandwidth, bypassing the traffic, blocking the IP addresses or blocking the ports by the firewall. But as lots of people use smart-phones, it is possible a smart-phone to be a zombie and DDoS attack could be much more a huge and powerful forms than now. Victims are not only a server but also a host which becomes a zombie. While it performs DDoS attack, zombie smart-phone users have to pay the extra charge. After finish the attack, DDoS try to destroy hard drives of zombie hosts. Therefore the situation is changed rather than to defend DDoS server side only, we should protect a client side who needs to prevent DDoS attacks. In this paper, we study a defence method that we terminates a process which perform the attack, send the information to different hosts when a zombie PC or smart-phone perform DDoS attacks.

  • DDoS attacks have became as a social threat since 2009 7.7 DDoS turmoil. Even though defence techniques have been developing to provide against those threats, they become much more sophisticate. In recent years, the attack form of DDoS is changing from high amount of traffic attack of network layers to highly sophisticate small amount of application layers. To make matters worse, attack agent for the attack has became very intelligent so that it is difficult to be blocked since it can't be distinguished from normal PCs. In the user authentication system(such as CAPTCHA) User intervention is required to distinguish normal PCs and intelligent attack agents and in particular, in a NAT environment, IP-based blocking method can be cut off the normal users traffic at the same time. This research examined defense techniques which are able to distinguish between agent and normal PC and effectively block ways the HTTP DDoS offense applying one-time session key based authentication method using Cookie which is used in HTTP protocol to protect web sever from sophisticate application layer of DDoS.

  • DDoS attacks is upgrade of DoS attacks. Botnet is being used by DDoS attack, so it is able to attack a millions of PCs at one time. DDoS attacks find the root the cause of the attack because it is hard to find sources for it, even after the treatment wavelength serious social problem in this study, the analysis and countermeasures for DDoS attack is presented.

  • DDoS (Distributed Denial Service, Distributed Service) attacks are being generated for a constant threat on the Internet, countermeasures for this have been proposed. However, the problem has become an increasingly effective instruction in any Measures are a variety of attacks and sophisticated attacks. Attackers can change a steady attack tools to respond to these, the experts as a countermeasure to this constantly research for a fresh attack. This paper is to introduce countermeasures to DDoS recent representative examples of 7.7DDoS and look for 3.3DDoS existing types of DDoS attacks increased PPS attacks, high traffic sent, web service delay and router and firewall settings, applications and to describe the DDoS countermeasures research by certification, is so that you can plan effectively for the future DDoS attacks proposed method.

  • MANET composed wireless nodes without fixed infrastructure provides high flexibility, but it has weak disadvantage to various attack. It has big weakness to DDoS attack because every node perform packet forwarding especially. In this paper, packet transmission information control technique is proposed to reduce damage of DDoS attack in MANET and search location of attacker when DDoS attacks occur. Hierarchical structure using gateway node is adopted for protect a target of attack in this study. Gateway node in cluster is included like destination nodes surely when source nodes route path to destination nodes and it protects destination nodes. We confirmed efficiency by comparing proposed method in this study with CUSUM and measured the quantity consumed memory of cluster head to evaluate efficiency of information control using to location tracing.

  • DDoS is an attack type that interfere with normal service by running out network bandwidth, process throughput, and system resource. It can be recognized intuitively by network slowdown and connection impossibility state, but it is necessary to detect DDoS attack by exact and quantitative analysis. In this paper, the exact and efficient DDoS attack detection system which is able to detect traffic flooding by MIB information, and attack traffic by packet analysis is proposed and realized.

  • Distributed Denial-of-Service(DDoS) attack prevent users from accessing services on the target network by spoofing its origin source address with a large volume of traffic. The objective of IP Traceback is to determine the real attack sources, as well as the full path taken by the attack packets. Existing IP Traceback methods can be categorized as proactive or reactive tracing. Existing PPM based tracing scheme(such as router node appending, sampling and edge sampling) insert traceback information in IP packet header for IP Traceback. But, these schemes did not provide enhanced performance in DDoS attack. In this paper, we propose a 'TTL based advanced Packet Marking' mechanism for IP Traceback. Proposed mechanism can detect and control DDoS traffic on router and can generate marked packet for reconstructing origin DDoS attack source, by which we can diminish network overload and enhance traceback performance.

  • MANET has a weak construction in security more because it is consisted of only moving nodes and doesn't have central management system. The DDoS attack is a serious attack among these attacks which threaten wireless network. The DDoS attack has various object and trick and become intelligent. In this paper, we propose the technique to raise DDoS detection rate by classifying abnormal traffic pattern. Cluster head performs sentinel agent after nodes which compose MANET are made into cluster. The decision tree is applied to detect abnormal traffic pattern after the sentinel agent collects all traffics and it judges traffic pattern and detects attack also. We confirm high attack detection rate of proposed detection technique in this study through experimentation.

The objective of IP Traceback is to determine the real attack sources, as well as the full path taken by the attack packets. Existing IP Traceback methods can be categorized as proactive or reactive tracing. Proactive tracing(such as packet marking and messaging) prepares information for tracing when packets are in transit. Reactive tracing starts tracing after an attack is detected. In this paper, we propose a "advanced ICMP Traceback" mechanism. which is based on the modified push back system. Proposed mechanism can detect and control DDoS traffic on router and can generate ICMP Traceback message for reconstructing origin attack source.ck source.
