A study of DISC Behaviour Patterns on the satisfaction difference of Comic-Animation Department students : Focusing on satisfaction in the major and satisfaction of the university life (DISC 행동유형에 따른 만화애니메이션학과 대학생들의 만족도 차이 연구 - 전공만족도와 대학생활만족도를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this research is to maximize the core competencies by objectively measuring the Behaviour Patterns of students in Comic-Animation major to understand the difference between individuals and to maximize one's merits which will improve the efficiency in education. Also through this research we could understand which aspects would be affected in both the satisfaction about the major based on Behaviour Patterns and the satisfaction of university life. According to the DISC Patterns, 41.7% of the students in Comic-Animation department shows that they were in Patterns I (Influence). And Patterns S (Steadiness) were 10% which was the lowest percentage in this survey. In the average of the subject's satisfaction aspect, the satisfaction of the professors' suggestion was 3.68 which was the highest. While the satisfaction of the administration service and welfare facility was 2.56 which was the lowest. The satisfaction rate based on DISC Behaviour Patterns shows a significant difference among the satisfaction of the department, the satisfaction of atmosphere in university and the satisfaction of the admin and welfare. Patterns I (Influence) was the highest the satisfaction in the major and the satisfaction of the university life while Patterns C(Criticalness) was the lowest. In particular, the importance of the I (Influence) is the most important factor, but it is essential that there is a slight decrease in the precision and accuracy of the work, and C(Criticalness) is shy and stressed, so they need to give positive communication and accurate advice. It is required to Comic-Animation department professor to analyse students' character based on Behaviour Patterns and a person's pros and cons for the career exploration and the employment consultation in order to have positive affect on employment rate. Also if the department's Behaviour Patterns construction were well utilized, it can improve the success rate of useful leadership and fellowship. it will improve the atmosphere in the department which will decrease the drop-out rate but increase the cohesion in the department which will lead to providing better result in the work and the project.

  • This study was designed to understand the Education recognition, satisfaction, and job preferences of college students majoring in beauty through the DISC behavior type, and to be used as customized career and beauty education data considering individual tendencies through the DISC behaviour type. From September 20 to October 11, 2017, the final questionnaire was analyzed for students of beauty education who lived in South Chungnam Province and Gyeonggi Province. Significant differences in the Education recognition and job preferences of the study participants were shown, followed by D, I, S, and C, and were found to be satisfactory for their majors. Through this study, it is believed that it will be possible to identify the Education recognition, satisfaction and job preferences of college students in beauty education and use them as basic data that can help them decide their career path after beauty education.

A Study on the Characteristics of Flow through a Valve using Exhaust System Engine Simulator (기관 배기계 모의실험장치를 이용한 밸브를 통과하는 유동특성에 관한 연구)

  • Flow characteristics of a compressible gas flow through a rotating disc-type rotary valve are investigated experimentally under various conditions. It is known that the mass flow rate through poppet valves of 4-stroke cycle engines and through piston valves of 2-stoke cycle engines decrease with increase in engine speed. Rotary valve is one means by which air may be made to flow inter-mittently through a pipe. In this paper an exhaust system simulator of engine was used to experi-mentally analyze the decrease in flow rate at high rotation speeds and to determine what variables other than rotational speed give rise to the observed behaviour. These variables have been included in an empirical equation which is representative of the measured flow characteristics.

  • Though a micro pump is a crucial element in miniaturized bio-fluidic systems or drug delivery systems, it has some intrinsic disadvantages such as backward flow, pulsation of flow, low repeatability and producibility, and high cost. To overcome these limitation, a PZT disc actuated micro pump including a novel ring-shaped multi-flap check valve is introduced. To enhance the performance of the micro pump, the static behaviour of flap valve module and the micro fluidic behavior of fluids are numerically modelled and analyzed. As results of the numerical analysis, the optimal dimension and configuration of the ring-shaped multi flap valve are $1{\times}0.05$ mm and 2 (inlet side)${\times}1$ (outlet side) type. The obtained maximum flow rates and flow resolution are about 90 ml/min and 30 ${\mu}l$/stroke respectively.

Modelling of timber joints made with steel dowels and locally reinforced by DVW discs

  • Local reinforcement in dowel type timber joints is essential to improve ductility, to increase load carrying capacity and to reduce the risk of brittle failure, especially in the case of using solid dowel. In many types of reinforcing materials available today, DVW (densified veneer wood) has been demonstrated to be the most advantages in terms of compatibility, embedding performance and ductility. Preliminary studies show that using appropriately sized DVW discs bonded into the timber interfaces may be an effective way to reinforce the connection. In this paper, non-linear 3-dimensional finite element models, incorporating orthotropic and non-linear material behaviour, have been developed to simulate structural performance of the timber joints locally reinforced by DVW discs. Different contact algorithms were applied to simulate contact conditions in the joints. The models were validated by the corresponding structural tests. Correlation between the experimental results and the finite element simulations is reasonably good. Using validated finite element models, parametric studies were undertaken to investigate effects of the DVW disc sizes and the end distances on shear stresses and normal stresses in a possible failure plane in the joint.
