  • This study examines the wear behavior of mild steel pins mated against alloyed tool steel discs in a pin-on-disc type sliding test machine and provides specific clarification regarding the effects of disc hardness on the wear behavior of a mating mild steel pin. The analysis confirms these effects through the observation of differences in the wear rates of the mild steel pins at low sliding speed ranges. These differences occur even though the hardness of the mating disc does not affect the wear characteristic curve patterns for the sliding speeds, regardless of the wear regime. In the running-in wear regime, increasing the hardness of the mating disc results in a decrease in the wear rates of the mild steel pins at low sliding speed ranges. However, in the steady-state wear region, the wear rate of a pin mated against the 42DISC is greater than the wear rate of a pin mated against the 30DISC, which has a lower hardness value. This means that the tribochemical reactivity of the mating disc, which is based on hardness value, influences the wear behavior of mild steel at low sliding speed ranges. In particular, oxides with higher oxygen contents, such as $Fe_2O_3$ oxides, form predominantly on the worn surface of the 42DISC. On the contrary, the wear behavior of mild steel pins at high sliding speed ranges is nearly unaffected by the hardness of the mating disc.

As a result, the following conclusion was obtained. Methods: The data was collected From November 1, 2018 to November 14, 2018, 218 dental hygiene students. Data was collected using self-reported questionnaires. Statistical analysis was performed with IBM SPSS ver. 21.0. Mean (standard deviation) and one-way ANOVA & pearson correlation were performed. Results: The most frequent DISC behavior patterns of dental hygiene students was steadiness types (49.0%) followed by influence types (34.5%), conscientiousness types (9.0%), and dominance types (7.5%). There were no significant difference in professionalism and major satisfaction according to DISC behavior patterns in dental hygiene students. There was a correlation between major satisfaction and professionalism of dental hygiene students. Conclusion: In conclusion, in order for dental hygiene students to establish positive professionalism through increased major satisfaction, it is necessary to make various efforts such as providing consultation and education that corresponds to each student's DISC behavior patterns. These efforts will provide the students career vision and encourage them to improve their academic achievement and find employment that fits their vocational aptitude.

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the relationship between university major satisfaction and job preference according to DISC behavior patterns. Methods: To conduct our evaluation, we surveyed a group of 118 students from the Department of Dental Laboratory Technology at the college of Jinju city from August 31 to September 11, 2020. The collected data was evaluated through frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, one-way ANOVA, and regression analysis. Results: The analysis revealed that the steadiness type had the highest and the dominance type had the lowest major satisfaction level by DISC behavior type. The job preference was different for each DISC behavior type, and higher the preference for stability and development, the higher the degree of satisfaction with the major. Conclusion: These results suggest that DISC behavior type, major satisfaction, and job preference are all related. Therefore, these factors should be considered when implementing career guidance and educational programs for college students.

  • In this paper, experimental methods about the flow behavior of thin polymer film by various edge patterns in the spin coating process for stable cover layer coating of a blu-ray disc is described. The blu-ray disc, a next-generation optical disc format over 25GB, consists of a 1.1m thick substrate and a 0.1mm tick cover layer. Generally, cover layer on the blu-ray disc is made by the polymer spin coating process. However, it is hard to secure sufficient coating uniformity around the rim on the cover layer. In order to get the uniform thickness deviation and to minimize the bead around the rim, the edge of the disc substrate can be modified into various patterns, such as normal plain, trench, step and chamfer pattern, etc, around the rim on the disc and experimented with various parameters, such as surface tension, viscosity, coating time, temperature and rotation speed, etc. And the optimal shape of the rim was tried to get by 3 dimensional computer simulation of the polymer expulsion process.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between behavior patterns(DISC) and direct indirect of social support from dental hygienists. The data used in this study were obtained from 171 dental hygienists who have been working on dental hospital or clinic in Pusan and Gyeongsangnam-do from 1st July to 30th August in 2011. In the level of direct indirect of social support according to subjects' general characteristics, higher educational level and non-religion was related with higher in direct of social support(p<0.05), and hygienists who worked in general hospital was related with higher indirect of social support(p<0.01). According to between behavior patterns(DISC) and indirect social support, these score were that I-type 3.55, D-type 3.53, C-type 3.41, and S-type 3.36. All behavior patterns(DISC) were similar with the indirect support. In direct support these score were that S-type 2.98 I-type 2.95, D-type and C-type 2.91. In frequency of behavior patterns(DISC), these were that I-type 56.7%, S-type 16.4%, C-type 14%, and D-type 12.9%. In correlation between factors, direction social support was correlated with I-type(p<.01) and C-type(p<.01) of behavior patterns(DISC). On based on these results, if the change of working environment, working condition will improve social support of dental hygienists. And education program have to developed for dental hygienists.

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of disc thickness on the normal behavior of the temporomandibular joint. Based on a specific patient case, CT scan images showing accentuated wear in the right disc were reconstructed and the geometrical and finite element model of the temporomandibular joint structures (cranium, mandible, articular cartilages and articular discs) was developed. The loads applied in this study were referent to the five most relevant muscular forces acting on the temporomandibular joint during daily tasks such as talking or eating. We observed that the left side structures of the temporomandibular joint (cranium, mandible and articular disc) were the most affected as a consequence of the wear on the opposite articular disc (right side). From these results, it was possible to evaluate the differences in the two sides of the joint and understand how a damaged articular disc influences the behavior of this joint and the possible consequences that can arise without treatment.

  • The wear behavior as the hardness of the sliding elements on the dry wear has been investigated using a disc on disc configuration. The materials of the specimens are used as ten kinds along their hardness. In this study, both upper and lower specimens have been used the same materials. Using experimental data, we figured the relationship between wear coefficient and friction coefficient, and the relationship between wear coefficient and friction temperature. Also we combined friction temperature and friction coefficient instead of wear coefficient. We substituted this into wear equation of Archard. The result had been derived a newly wear equation in disc on disc wear system.

  • While braking cars, a large amount of energy is taken into the brake system in a short period of time. This leads to some problems ; cracking of the disc, non-uniform wear of pad and disc, fade. Thus it is important to measure the contact thermal behaviour precisely between disc and pad. The measurements must be considered to design the brake system. The paper describes methods to analysis the problem of the thermal behavior on the ventilated disc with ANSYS-a program of FEA and a brake dynamometer. According to this way, the paper can present the error between the data by the dynamometer and the results of analysis by ANSYS.

  • Disc brakes and brake linings are part of the braking system in automobiles; this system works due to the braking power between the disc and pad. Vehicle braking systems have complex environments due to the geometry of the disk and pad, the material properties, the braking conditions, etc. Braking energy is converted into thermal energy during the braking process, due to the frictional heat between the disc brake and pad. This heat is changed to a heat flux, which affects the thermal stress of the disc. The purpose of this study was to use the fluid dynamics software ANSYS CFX to investigate the inner flow characteristics of the air and the heat transfer of the disc, and to analyze the effects on the thermal stress of the disc brake.
