  • The rapid growth of economy improves not only the life quality of people in this modern society but also standards of value in connection with how those people would spend money as they engage in various leisure and cultural activities. That being the case, hotels are currently changing into places of new concepts depending on those new lifestyles of these people, and in those new places, people can entertain and experience as enjoying cultures. The marketing collaboration of the hotels with brands can be used as a more inclusive way to enhance brand images. In addition, as having infinite possibilities of the collaboration's being able to create a new-concept space with an identity of a brand included, this collaboration makes it possible for the design hotels to decorate their interior spaces differently from those of other hotels. In the light of that, the brand collaboration is basically divided into three groups which are the fashion collaboration, the technique collaboration and the designer collaboration, and the brand collaboration is also able to express the interior spaces of the design hotels as working on those six components, such as reproduction, events, alteration, messages, culture and image. After all, through the brand collaboration marketing, this thesis expects an interior design of a new-concept design hotel which would play a role as a complex cultural space.

  • In a construction project, collaboration amongst the project participants is a critical factor for high-quality results and successful completion of the project. Owing to the advance of information technologies, web-based systems have become more common in the construction industry, but research and development has been made for only limited areas. For organized and systematic collaboration in various fields, collaboration systems have to be developed in a holistic manner based on diverse needs from the whole construction industry. This study aims to investigate the current status of web-based collaboration systems from structural engineers' perspectives and propose an improvement plan. For a systematic analysis of selected cases, we apply a classification of three developmental stages depending on interoperability and organizational levels: structural design and analysis, collaborative design, and integrated design management. Thereafter, the characteristics of each stage are extracted and comparatively analyzed. Lastly, three functional factors were proposed for the improvement of web-based collaboration systems for structural design.

  • The objectives of this study are to define the fundamental notions of collaboration in design field. The results of this study are summarized as follows: Firstly, collaboration means a cooperative work which are cooperatively done by collabarator and collaboratee on the equal status within a certain period of time, based on core ability of each of them. This cooperative work is presented with a visual image based on the identity of participants, and it creates an added value. Collaboration is different from convergence and hybrid in the methodological aspects and from brand alliance and strategic alliance in the aspects of the subject of project. Secondly, collaboration has been developing through step of using the specific ability, step of sharing each core abilities, and step of fusing their identities, in a view of the sphere of cooperative work and the intimate relations in reciprocity. Thirdly, according to strategic purpose, collaboration can be classified into value ascending collaboration, image changing collaboration, business-field extension collaboration, and event collaboration. Fourthly, production methods of collaboration consist of limited edition method, premium line method, common line method, producing a collaborative product, and so on. Fifthly, differentiation effect, image upgrade effect, production of higher value-added products, sale increase, diversification of business, sharing the targets, and promotion effect are achievable through collaboration. Sixthly, to make progress in collaboration successfully, the compatibility of combination between collaborator and collaboratee, the superiority of collaboratee, definitude of collaboration, the fit method of collaboration, the novelty of collatoration, possibility of issuing of collaboration, and perfection of collabo-product must be the points which deserve our attention.

  • Social and cultural impact of postmodernism in the seek for diversity and to respect the individual's personality and character was the center of human-centered thinking. This also affects the design area, as well as architecture, interior design. It is because of interactive interior design that reflects the lives and relationships with people. Thus, in modern society, people to meet the diverse needs have created a third space. Today's commercial space in the flow to a variety of users and is trying to provide comfort. To go to stores often offer lifestyle and proceeding to the next stage of life. Space for the creative force is trying to become getting better space. Collaboration is refer to phenomenon that two or more objects meet to collaborate. Collaboration is can be classified of space, art, low/high, high concept and star collaboration. And this study has been studied mainly collaboration. Space collaboration is can be classified of experiential, the third space, brand passes and landmark. Space collaboration elements rearranged to the standards of interior design theory, analysis, and marketing of space, commercial space, with previous studies of the spatial elements were extracted. The purpose of this study in the field of interior design space analysis method for the verification of collaboration theory is that to develop. Thus, the space collaboration has been developed to fit the field of interior design, and commercial interior spaces will be helpful for applying.

  • While previous studies argue that BIM-based assembling collaboration promotes the communication and process management among participants in architectural design projects, it is still unknown which communication and socio-psychological factors are more and less activated in use of BIM-based collaboration. To investigate this research aim, in authentic BIM-used architectural retrofitting projects, the participants (N=36) collaborated and assessed the communication factors on (1) perceiving design results, (2)understanding partners'design intention, (3) proposing and converging opinions, the interpersonal design process management factors on (1) managing design process, (2) managing collaboration schedule, and the complementedness factors on (1) understanding partners' expertise, and comradeship. Statistical analyses reveal that the factor relevant to perceiving design results is better activated than the other factors (p<0.05), but all other factors are not much activated compared to perceiving design results. Deduced from the previous BIM studies and interviews, a reason roots in the shared forms and semantics of BIM. The shared semantics represent collaborators' information and allow the participants to perceive design changes explicitly. Meanwhile, BIM-based assembling collaboration is limited to represent observable, experience-able processes of design, and thus, several key socio-psychological factors, such as proposing and converging opinions and managing design process, are less activated.

  • The use of computers in architectural professions has grown with the power of easy data management, increased sophistication of standalone applications, inexpensive hardware, improved speed of processing, use of standard library and tools for communication and collaboration. Recently, there has been a growing interest in distributed CAAD (Computer-Aided Architectural Design) integration due to the needs of direct collaboration among project participants in different locations, and Internet is becoming the optimal tool for collaboration among participants in architectural design and construction projects. The aim of this research is to provide a new paradigm for a CAAD system by combining research on integrated CAAD applications with recent collaboration technologies. To accomplish this research objective, interactive three-dimensional (3D) design tools and applications running on the Web have been developed for an Internet-based distributed CAAD application system, specifically designed to meet the requirements of the architectural design process. To this end, two different scopes of implementation are evaluated: first, global architecture and the functionality of a distributed CAAD system; and, second, the association of an architectural application to the system.

  • Architectural design works are proceeded by the collaboration of experts working in many fields, but the traditional method of collaboration, so to speak offline collaboration, has limitation on time and space. The meeting agenda is not well organized in the meeting. Often there are so many items to discuss, that some get left out, and remain unaddressed. The knowledge relying on people's memory is not always accurate. To solve the above problems, we would like to suggest web-based collaboration system in architectural design and provide contents which are called checklists and knowledge database for collaboration.
