The purpose of this study was to provide basic information on the propriety of the ready to wear garment sizes of Tween Generation(ages from 5th grade to 8th grade) who has different clothing preferences in color, styles, and design and also different body sizes and shapes from younger and older students. The objectives of the study were to ascertain (a) the body figure changes occurring during Tween Generation; (b) the coverage of manufactures'garment sizes. The body measurements of elementary school students(5th & 6th grades) and junior high school students(7th & 8th grades) provide the basic statistics for this study. The mean differences of each size within each figure type are compared by using t-teats. The differences in various manufacturers'apparel sizing and figure size are investigated. Also the body measurements and the apparel sizes of the manufacturers are compared in order to evaluate the suitability of the garment size. Results indicate that the body type factors are different in each age group. And manufactures'sizes come out to be much smaller than the actual body measurements. Young casual wear can cover junior high school students satisfactorily but for elementary school students, because of low drop-value, the overall satisfaction with filling is low.

This study aims at the development of office desk system considering variability to realize various typed desks. The opened and variable workstation for good communications and team work between team members has maintained since 2000. Recently, owing to the growth of knowledge industry and the promotion of office environment, the differentiated workstations are being organized by the type of business. Such a trend reflects that users are requiring a variety of office desks. Therefore, this study focuses on systematic variability to solve a variety of workstations required for office space. The object of this study also includes the basic typed-desks and the other desks realized from variable work. This study also aims at the practical variability to feel all the users and manufactures by realizing 6 kinds of desks with the smallest parts. Consequently, it verifies that the systematization can get a designed unity, it is easy for users or manufactures to assemble and disassemble the systematized desks in office space, where the users can often change the workstation with their compatible parts. It is also thought interior designers should carry out a variety of studies on system workstaion, based on the advanced variability.

This paper is to study about paisley shawl and paisley motif to focus on Kashmir shawl. Kashmir shawl and paisley shawl of Europe can be identified by the use of 'pine cone' motif. Early 19th Europe textile manufactures began imitating the Kashmir shawl, the motif began to be called 'paisley', after Paisley, Scotland, one of the largest producers of imitation Karshmir shawls. This study is to analyze on origin of shawl and paisley motif at the theoretical background. And main issues are to study on organization of the Kashmir shawl indusry, weaving technic and producing process, development of motif, change of size and border design of shawl, difference of Woven Kashmir shawl, Patchwork shawl and hml shawl, causes of decline to shawl industry, differences of between Kashmir and European shawl etc. The result of this study can help to understand correct and accurate information, knowledge of paisley motif and paisley shawl.

The primary objective of this research is to provide the basis of total quality management policies by reviewing previous studies which investigated effective ways to reduce product liability exposure. Specifically, the present study intends (1) to examine recent patterns and trends of product liability law in OECD countries, (2) to propose quality management policies for preventing product liability litigations, and (3) to guide the proper implementation process of ISO 9000 certification programs. The survey results show that the shift from a negligence law theory to strict liability is evident in most countries. The trend has led to make it easier for consumers to bring product liability lawsuits. Furthermore, the damage awards won by consumers have been drastically increasing. To minimize product liability exposure, manufactures should reflect comprehensive product safety concepts in establishing total quality management policies. Cooperative activities are also required between departments in companies to reach safe and satisfactory quality level. These quality management activities should be performed consistently during the total product life cycle. Failure to comply with the ISO 9000 certifications might be used as an evidence of negligence or as evidence of a design defect in court. Previous lawsuit cases, however, reveal that ISO 9001-9003 registration process alone is not sufficient in terms of product liability pervention perspectives. Therefore, manufactures should take into account ISO 9004 before implementing any other section of ISO 9000 standards.

This paper is about the implementation of Passive RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tag system using a capacitive method, and explains the design and circuit's structure of this system. Fundamentally the capacitive RFID tag system consists of a tag reader, a passive tag and a host computer. And then this paper shows the system's prototype which analyzes a specification, and suggests the passive RFID system as a new method which manufactures a low cost tag system easily

The shear flow properties have been reported in many cases by manufactures and fabricators. Only this characteristic is sometimes insufficient for the processings to provide a complete picture of the relationship between the processability and the flow behavior when underwent free-surface processes in which the shape and thickness of the extrudate are determined by the rheological properties of the melt, the die dimensions etc. In this paper the methodology of control of elongational flow is discussed in terms of relaxation time control of the polymer melts.

Today, FPD manufactures are eager to develop larger and larger glass to become the prime market leader. To follow this need, larger AMHS(Automated Material Handling System) development is essential. The radical increase of glass/cassette weight puts a lot of pressure on stocker robot's dual arms, which can cause a damage of expensive glasses and contaminate a clean room facility. In this paper the axiomatic design method is used to institute a design guideline to evenly distribute a pressure throughout the stocker robot structure.

Nowadays, customers have increasing needs, so more and more enterprises are selling their products with additional services and or contents. The emergence of service added to the product leads to the emergence of the Product-Service Systems(PSS). Many researches related to PSS are mainly concerned with general PSS and PSS modeling, which can not readily assist manufactures of consumer products to implement and realize PSS solution. We have wondered whether customers can distinguish service functions from product functions. Through the case studies on Apple and Nintendo and the survey on the representative 5 IT products, we propose the design factors of products and services for PSS.

The aims of this research were to suppose the basic data to the producer for more useful manufactures production. 700 pieces of questionnaire were made and 552 pieces of questionnaire were used for this study. The results of this research are as follows ; Many consumers feel uncomfortable to using the unfinished clothing and by the point we could expect the shape retention finish has great possibilities. Just half percent of the people knew about the shape retention finish. So the producer have to do more advertisement for the shape retention finishing and functions. Generally the consumers are satisfied with the shape retention finished clothing.
