  • Softwares including random number generation are abundant in modern informative society. But it's hard to get directly multivariate multinomial random numbers from existing softwares. Multivariate multinomial random numbers are greatly used in social and medical sciences. In this paper, we show that desired multivariate multinomial random numbers can be easily generated by the aids of existing random number generating software. Some characteristics of multivariate multinomial distribution are surveyd. Measures of association for the generated random numbers were computed and compared with population ones via simulation study.

  • Statistically illiterate people seem to believe that there are some strategies for choosing winning numbers in lottery. One seemingly plausible strategy is to select the hot numbers which most frequently appeared in the past. In this article we investigate the existence of hot numbers in the Korean national lottery called Lotto. A numerical method is proposed to estimate the exact sampling distribution of test statistic for checking the existence of hot numbers among 45 possible numbers of choice.

  • Water inrush through the destruction of water resisting rock mass structure was divided into direct water inrush, key block water inrush and splitting water inrush. In the direct water inrush, the Reynolds numbers has a significant effect on the distribution of the water flow and vortex occurred in the large Reynolds numbers. The permeability coefficient of the fracture is much larger than the rock, and the difference is between 104 and 107 times. The traditional theory and methods are not considering the effect of inertia force. In the position of the cross fracture, the distribution of water flow can only be linearly distributed according to the fracture opening degree. With the increase of Reynolds number, the relationship between water flow distribution and fracture opening is studied by Semtex.

  • Let's say that we are given a k number of random variables following Poisson distribution that are individually dependent and which forms multivariate Poisson distribution. We particularly dealt with a method of creating random numbers that satisfies the covariance matrix, where the elements of covariance matrix are parameters forming a multivariate Poisson distribution. To create such random numbers, we propose a new algorithm based on the method reducing the number of parameter set and deal with its relationship to the Park et al.(1996) algorithm used in creating multivariate Bernoulli random numbers.

  • In this paper, we construct higher-order (p, q)-poly-tangent numbers and polynomials and give several properties, including addition formula and multiplication formula. Finally, we explore the distribution of roots of higher-order (p, q)-poly-tangent polynomials.
