우리나라 남녀 성인의 폭음 및 문제음주 영향 요인 (Associated Factors of Binge Drinking and Problem Drinking among Korean Men and Women)

  • Objectives: This study firstly examined the pattern and prevalence of drinking. Secondly, we examined the sociodemographic and health factors associated with binge drinking and problem drinking among Korean men and women. Methods: Secondary analysis of the 2005 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey was conducted for 6,613 respondents aged 19 to 64. Results: Prevalence for binge drinking was 59.7% of men and 15.2% of women. Overall, 45.0% of men and 7.1% of women reported problem drinking. For both men and women, being divorced/separated/widowed was associated with binge drinking (OR=1.51 for men, OR=1.91 for women) and problem drinking (OR=1.43 for men, OR=2.12 for women), and smoking was associated with binge drinking (OR=3.20 for men, OR=3.96 for women) and problem drinking (OR=2.39 for men, OR=4.93 for women). Among women, unmarried and less educated increased the risk of binge drinking and problem drinking but being single and education level were not associated with binge drinking and problem drinking in men. Conclusion: There might be sex difference in the relationships between sociodemographic, and health factors and binge drinking, and problem drinking. Our finding suggest that the need to develop appropriate binge drinking prevention and intervention strategies for sex specified groups at greater risk.

대학생 문제음주 관련요인 (Factors Related to College Student's Problem Drinking)

  • This study conducted multiple logistic regression to investigate what factors and how much they influence problem drinking. In this study, problem drinking was defined by AUDIT and NAST. Most of the studies on problem drinking focused on socio-demographic factors even though problem drinking is caused by bio-psycho- socio-cultural factors. The current study tried to estimate a logistric regression models including socio-demographic, environmental, psychological, economical, emotional, values, and MMPI factors. The best fit model suggested that problem drinking, which was determined by AUDIT, of college students were related to sociodemographic, environmental, psychological, and emotional factors. Students who were male, whose father, brother or sister had been abused alcohol or drug, students thought that his/her mother had not trusted him/her, who worried about his/her health, smokers, who had strong impulsivity, who had three or more feelings among the sorts of feelings, such as sadness, loneliness, boring making him/her feel to drink alcohol were more likely to had drinking problem. Students who were indulgers-who could not help buying things immediately after they saw goods they like, who were smokers, who had low ego-control, who had three or more feelings among the sorts of feelings, such as become excited, anxiousness, healthy were more likely to be dependent on alcohol. The study suggested intervention programs for college students to prevent problem alcohol drinking and alcohol dependency.

일부 지역 응급구조학과 학생들의 음주행태와 그 영향 요인 (Drinking Behaviors and Affecting Factors of Emergency Medical Technology Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify drinking form and analyze affecting factors of emergency medical technology students. Methods: Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 18.0 and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. Results: In factors of the monthly drinking frequency, start drinking(middle school), smoking, pocket money, education level of mother were statistically profitable(p<.05). In factors of the monthly drinking too much frequency, gender, education level of mother, start drinking(high school), economical level were statistically profitable(p<.05). In factors of subjective model of drinking, discord with parents, education level of mother, age were statistically profitable(p<0.05). Conclusion: Teacher and the authorities of school and government must know seriousness and importance of drinking and endeavor to solve the problem and prepare the political plan and solution.

대학생 위험음주자의 특성 및 결정요인에 관한 분석 (Analysis on Characteristics and Determination Factors of Risky Drinking of University Students)

  • This study examined drinking status, knowledge regarding drinking, and drinking behaviors between non-risky drinking and risky drinking groups and found out the factors determining risky drinking. Data were collected from 355 college students in Gyeongbuk region by a self-administered questionnaire. T tests, ${\chi}^2$ tests and logistic regression analysis were conducted by SPSS Windows V.20.0. Almost 30% of the respondents were categorized as the risky drinking group. The respondents in the risky drinking group showed greater drinking frequency per month, subjective drinking quantity, frequency of resolution not to drinking per month, and drinking expenditure than the non-risky drinking group. There was no statistically significant difference in the percentage of correct answers for knowledge regarding drinking between non-risky drinking group and risky drinking group. However, the respondents in the risky drinking group showed more undesirable drinking behaviors than the non-risky drinking group. Finally, according to the result of logistic regression analysis of the factors determining risky drinking, monthly allowance, major, circle activity status, drinking frequency per month, drinking motive and drinking behaviors were significant.

만성 간 질환자의 음주행위에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Drinking Behavior of Chronic Liver Disease)

  • The purpose of this study is a chronic liver disease that affects the drinking behavior is to identify the factors. The subjects of the study was diagnosed with chronic liver disease outpatient visit were studied in 120 patients. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS WIN 18.0. Drinking behavior of chronic liver disease to determine the factors influencing the results of the multiple regression analysis, the regression model was found to be significant(F=8.58, p<.001), drinking behavior of chronic liver disease a major contributor to the drinking habits(${\beta}$ = -.29, p = .004)was found in, followed by drinking motives(${\beta}$ = .20, p = .044), drinking refusal self-efficacy(${\beta}$ = -.17, p = .037), after which the diagnosis of the disease(${\beta}$ = .15, p = .041), respectively. These variables showed explanatory power of 44.1%. Drinking behavior is a serious health problem in patients with chronic liver disease. The factors that influence drinking behavior by considering the management of chronic liver disease drinking continued to provide information and education is needed abstinence.

남성근로자의 음주동기, 음주거절 효능감, 직무 스트레스가 문제음주에 미치는 영향 (Factors associated with Problem Drinking in Korean Male Employees for Drinking Motivation, Job Stress, and Drinking Refusal Self-efficacy)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine relationships between drinking motivation, drinking refusal self-efficacy, job stress and problem drinking, and identify contributing factors on employees' problem drinking. Methods: A total of 191 employees recruited from two worksites. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: A 65.5% of employees has shown as hazardous drinking. Employees' problem drinking was significantly influenced by coping motives as a sub-factors of drinking motives (${\beta}$=.25) and social pressure as a sub-factors of drinking refusal self-efficacy(${\beta}$=-.57), explained 51.2% of the total variance. Conclusion: Considering the results of this study, healthy workplace culture for preventing employees' problem drinking should be builded. In addition, alcohol education program and effective employee assistance program need to be developed.

여대생의 음주행위에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing the Drinking Behavior in Female University Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing the alcohol drinking behavior in female university students. Methods: The subjects were 298 female university students at three universities in J Province and G city. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed by SPSS/PC+ 15.0. Results: The variables that affected the drinking behavior of female university students were smoking status, pocket money, coping strategy of problem solving, positive expectancy of alcohol drinking and negative expectancy of alcohol drinking. These factors could explain 30.4% of the drinking behavior. Stress did not affect the drinking behavior of subjects. Conclusion: Drinking behavior of the subjects was slightly higher than average for all women. In order to decrease the drinking behavior, the development of drinking reduction programs is needed and it can lead healthy life for female university students.

초등학교 6학년 아동의 음주 영향요인 (Factors Affecting Alcohol Drinking of Sixth-grade Children in South Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing 6th graders' alcohol drinking. Methods: Data were collected by questionnaires from 524 6th-graders in G City. The data were analyzed using SAS 9.1.3 programme. Results: Of the children, 63.7% had no education about drinking, implying that drinking prevention education is not done properly in elementary schools. In addition, 70.6% of the children experienced drinking. Among those who had drinking experience, 24.9% experienced the first drinking before entrance into elementary school and this was the highest percentage. Logistic regression analysis showed that the predictors are religion, family type, mother's drinking frequency, and alcohol attitude. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that complementing home environment and parenting education would be effective for reducing children's drinking. Also, it is recommended that drinking prevention programs for children should be developed in consideration of various factors affecting children's drinking including the factors identified in the present study, and the effectiveness of those programs should be assessed.

Sociodemographic and Health Related Factors Influencing Problem Drinking of the Echo Generation Using Data of the 2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

  • The aim of this study was to identify factors influencing problem drinking among the Echo Generation in South Korea and provide basic data for early intervention and mediation of problem drinking among the Echo Generation. This descriptive study performed a secondary analysis of raw data from the 2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey and used responses for problem drinking items from 999 Echo Generation participants born between 1979 and 1992. This study comprehensively investigated sociodemographic and health-related factors influencing problem drinking among the Echo Generation. SPSS WIN program (version 26.0) was used for data analysis. Gender (β=-.32, p<.001), education level (β=.10, p=.002), white-collar workers out of job (β=-.09, p=.041), and depression (β=.11, p<.001) were identified as factors that influenced problem drinking among the Echo Generation. Results of this study suggest that in order to prevent problem drinking among the Echo Generation, there should be user-customized prevention education and intervention programs.

고등학생의 음주행동 영향요인 (Factors Associated with Drinking Behavior in High School Students)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors affecting the drinking behavior in high school students. Methods: There were 620 subjects who were first and second graders of seven high schools in Daegu. This study used Sinhaengwoo (1998)'s drinking behavior scale, Rowlison and Felner (1988)'s stress scale, Kovacs (1981)'s children's depression inventory, Rosenberg (1965)'s self-esteem scale. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/win 18.0 program. This study was approved by the Institutional Review Boards (IRB) of the Keimyung university hospital(No. 12-112). Results: The mean score for drinking behavior in high school students was 23.1points. Factors influencing drinking behavior in high school students were identified as self-esteem(t=-3.67, p<.001), stress(t=6.79, p<.001), school types(t=4.02, p<.001), sex(t=-3.67, p<.001). These factors explained 27% of drinking behavior reported by high school students. Conclusion: The results indicate which factors are majors influencing drinking behavior in high school students. Therefore, self-esteem enhancement could be considered as an effective strategy to reduce the drinking behavior in high school students.
