Although there are many old school buildings that is more than 40 years in Korea, it is difficult to rebuild all of them due to limitations in budget management. Therefore, objective feasibility evaluation criteria are necessary to determine which school buildings should be rebuilt preferentially among the numerous old school buildings. One of the rebuilding feasibility evaluation items, economic evaluation generally requires documents such as construction statements and facility drawings. However, because most buildings older than 40 years do not have these documents, an economic analysis model that requires only basic building information should be developed. In this study, the economic analysis model that can be used for evaluating the rebuilding feasibility only with the number of years, total floor area, and structural information of school buildings was established. This model can contribute to the objective feasibility evaluation of old school buildings because it can evaluate numerous buildings on the same criteria based on basic building information.

This paper provides an economic evaluation model for public web services which are mainly operated by government agencies. Though there are various services, this paper focus on services for bottleneck problem solving and management information providing. This paper suggests quantitative and qualitative effects of public web services and evaluates them with I-NET users using e-mail surveys. This Paper mv provide a guideline for the future investment on public web services.

The paper examines the cost analysis and economic evaluation for manufacturing system installation in a metal industry. The evaluation procedure is consist of four steps. 1) Attribute determination of manufacturing system 2) Cost Estimating 3) Alternative and Model determination of manufacturing system 4) Economic Analysis. The impact of manufacturing system installations on employment displacement and strategic benefit is discussed and suggested to make a coherent determination of company's objective.

Recently, the high-rise apartment housings have become a prototype of the urban residential dwelling in Korea and the numbers of one have steadily been increasing. According to this trend, the strength of the construction materials is also fortified to assure the stability and durability of the buildings. Specially, Re-bar of SD500 type is largely used at the construction sites of high-rise building. This study analyzes the current usage of SD500 high-strength re-bar at domestic construction sites. Through the result of this analysis, we develop Economic Evaluation Model that measure economic efficiency of lap splice and coupler splice, which are most commonly used in connection SD500. The evaluation method was applied to construction sites in Seoul in December 2006, and the result revealed that coupler splice is relatively superior in terms of cost efficiency when the re-bar diameter is longer and the concrete strength is lower.

With an increase in the penetration of offshore wind farm, the need of an accurate economic evaluation of offshore wind farm has become crucial. This paper presents an economic evaluation method of offshore wind farm in Korea reflecting the cost of offshore wind farm infrastructure (offshore substation, submarine cable and foundation) in its cost model. Each cost of offshore substation, submarine cable, and foundation is represented as a function of installed capacity, distance to shore, and water level, respectively. We have applied the method to the case study of offshore in Jeju Island and analyzed the economics under various conditions. The results show that the distance to shore is of importance in economics of offshore wind farm.

Recently, interests in renewable energy have gradually increased. Of various renewable energy, Photovoltaic system has the properties affected by weather. This paper discusses the economic evaluation based on insolation data analysis. Real insolation data were obtained by radiation measurement device installed in projected photovoltaic system site during 20 months. Obtained real insolation data were standardized using clear day analysis. Standardized data are greater than obtained real insolation data and were used as parameters of RETScreen for the economic evaluation. In results, capacity(30[kW]) of soon cheon is shown the most B/C(1.20). Applied methods have effectively done to develop photovoltaic system.

As development of battery technologies, the installation of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) increased. The BESS can be used for various purposes such like frequency response, load leveling, and fluctuation mitigation of renewable energy generators. In this paper, three state BESS model is proposed. the BESS model considering charge, discharge and keeping efficiency, and life cycle according to depth of discharge (DOD). Then, the benefit and cost of BESS installed at substation for load leveling are summarized. The economic evaluation of BESS is analyzed using net present values (NPV) analysis. In case study, the NPV analysis of NaS battery system is carried out using the proposed BESS model. Because the result of economic evaluation of BESS using nowadays cost data is not positive, the sensitivity analysis of BESS is conducted by changing the capital cost and energy cost.

The importance of ecosystem service such as green spaces has risen due to restrictions on outdoor activities amid the climate crisis and COVID-19. While gardens significantly impact economic development, quality of life, and social well-being, comprehensive studies on their multidimensional values are lacking. This research categorizes garden values into social, cultural, environmental, and health dimensions and proposes an integrated assessment framework that introduces detailed elements and evaluation methods. An empirical assessment of carbon storage index in two Korean gardens, Semiwon and Juknokwon, reveals Semiwon's higher carbon storage per unit area. The proposed framework, emphasizing a quantitative approach, enables cross-national and regional comparisons, contributing to a broader understanding and evaluation of garden values beyond specific facilities.

This study made an economic evaluation of duck using Houttuynia cordata (H. cordata) powder as feed additives after 6 weeks. A total of 300 ducks (Pekins) were randomly assigned to one of the three treatments (0%, 0.5% and 1% H. cordata powder), with 5 replicates of 20 ducks each. After 6-week feeding trial, an economic improvement in all the treatments was found in following order: T2 (1% H. cordata powder) > T1 (0.5% H. cordata powder) > control. The results suggested that the addition of H. cordata powder to duck diets provided significantly greater economic benefits, indicating sustainable environmental management of the duck industry.
