As a supplier of ecotourism, local people are vital for its successful development of ecotourism in Less Favored Mountainous Area(LFMA). A survey was carried on to investigate the residents' attitudes toward ecotourism development. In addition, an Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) of resources for ecotourism was carried out. Major results are: First, cognition of residents fur environmentally friendly approach in tourism development, was very high (76.1 %). And appreciations of residents towards ecotourism were also high(more than 50%), Recently, the understanding of ecotourism is highly increasing. Second, ecotourism development was highly accepted(63%) as a desirable tourism development. And 65% of respondents showed willingness of participation to ecotourism development. Third, valleys were cognized as major ecotourism resources, and as a result of IPA, (unique) plant community, eco-villages, and habitats of wildlifes were in the category of 'Concentrate Here'.

The purposes of this study were to investigate ecotourism goals of conservation and increasing residents' benefits based on perceptions from the stakeholders of the Upo wetland. The stakeholders are residents, five villages' reprensentatives, people who were residents but now live out of the area, civil officals, and environmental NGO staffs of he Upo wetland. The results of this study were as follows: While the perceptions of environmental conservation among interviewees were positive, the residents' perceptions about residents' benefits were very negative in the Upo wetland. People who used to reside and then moves out had pride about the Upo and they wanted to return to live in the Upo wetland area. Even though the wetland is named as one of the most well known ecotourism sites by the Ministry of Environment and Korean National Ecotourism Organization(KNTO), the Upo wetland area is not an ecotourism site yet based on the definition of ecotourism goals which seek generating conservation and residents' benefits in this study. There are suggestions for this wetland area. The conservation policy with the residents' benefits are strongly recommended.

본 연구는 우포지역에 적합한 생태관광 기본계획을 수립하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 기 수행된 연구에서 제시된 생태관광계획모형의 순차적 단계에 따라 사례연구로서 수행되었다 우포지역에서의 자연환경 및 인문환경을 비롯한 제반여건을 분석한 결과, 우포지역에서의 친환경적인 생태관광지 조성의 필요성과 당위성이 인정되었다. 이에 따라 기초환경 조사 결과를 토대로 생태관광 주제를 설정하고 이에 적합한 시설 및 프로그램에 대한 공간계획안을 제시하였다. 그러나 본 연구에서 제시된 계획안은 개념적 계획안으로서 실제 적용을 위해서는 법률적, 행정적, 재정적 한계 등 공공부문의 제약요인에 대한 체계적인 검토가 요구된다.

The Influences of the Ecotourism Motive, on the Attitude, Resource Interpretation and Satisfaction of Tourist Ecotourism has been recently introduced to maintain the relation of mutual dependence between the tourism and the natural environment. However it is adversely used and creates the destruction of ecosystem. It is Important that the ecotourism is a tourism which tourists can experience and enjoy themselves on site rather than a tourism which they only see and hear, understand. It is assumed that a method should be found to maximize toursist' satisfaction and that the presentation of interpretation of the tourism resource may satisfy the tourist's satisfaction. The results offer the suggestion points as follows. 1. By providing the interpretation of tourism resource as well as the recreational object, the ecotourism can be activated with a sound recognition of nature and the reservation of environment, and furthermore, the development policy may be based on not only the area of ecotourism but also all of the tour area. 2. By providing the interpretation service of tourism resource for tourists, the satisfaction can be maximized by the high cognition of tourist. 3. By providing the information about the tourism destination and resource, it will contribute to the side of education, it will contribute the preservation of resource and the reservation of environment. As tourist are becoming increasingly environmentally conscious, government and related companies need to establish policies or strategies that encourage ecotourism. The aim of this study is to analyze individual preferences and estimate shadow prices, namely, willingness to pay for coastal wetland ecotourism. This study applies a contingent choice method to measuring marginal WTP for each attribute (tour duration, number of visitors, guide, program) of coastal wetland ecotourism. The finding herein contribute to complementing the valuation methods by estimating various attributes of coastal wetland ecotourism and providing policy-makers with useful methodological framework and quantitative information in the decision-making process related to ecotourism.

A spatial decision making process is needed when a local government tries to make polices and plans for eco-tourism in urban and regional site scale. This study aimed to suggest an assessment model to support spatial decision making on planning and making polices for eco-tourism. The model composes 6 stages of 'setting up ecogeographic territories'. 'value analysis method as ecotourism resources' 'synthetic assessing', 'grading values', 'selecting main resources for ecotourism' and 'spatial decision making support'. Applying the model to Shiheung city in Kyounggi province, validity was secured. By using the model, it was possible to make some decisions effectively such as selection of ecotourism resources, decision of the priorities of polices for ecotourism, and setting up the type of ecotourism to be introduced. In addition, by visualizing high valued resources and areas for ecotourism it w possible to support to make plans and policies effectively.

생태관광은 기존의 대량관광의 폐해와 환경문제의 갈등으로부터 탄생된 대안관광의 한 형태로서 환경, 경제, 교육, 문화 등의 요소들을 광범위하게 포함한다. 생태관광은 자연환경 지역에서 자원의 보호, 보존, 지역경제의 활성화, 수준 높은 관광서비스 제공을 통하여 지속 가능한 개발을 구현할 수 있는 환경친화적인 관광으로 정의할 수 있다. 친환경적인 관광산업으로서 생태관광은 지역환경 개선 및 소득증대 효과를 통한 농, 어촌지역의 활성화 수단으로서 또한 도시민들에게 양질의 관광, 휴양기회를 제공함으로써 국민의 여가욕구를 충족시켜줄 수 있는 공간으로서의 역할을 기대할 수 있다. 이에 본 연구는 생태관광 이론적 고찰을 통해 생태관광 개념을 정리하고 이를 바탕으로 우리 나라 농, 어촌지역의 생태관광지 개발에 적합한 계획모형을 제시하였다. 이와 함께 전라남도 완도군 정도리지역에 계획모형을 적용하는 사례연구를 수행하였다. 사례연구를 통해 본 생태관광 계획모형은 농, 어촌지역의 생태관광지 조성에 있어 실제적인 계획과정으로서 가능성을 보였다.

본 연구는 창원시 생태환경 지역 평가를 통한 지역 활성화를 위한 기초연구로, 창원시의 생태환경 6곳을 선정하여 저탄소 관광지표를 통해 평가하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구대상지는 창원시 6개 생태관광지역이며 각종 문헌자료 및 선행연구를 조사한 후 2021년 6월~7월 직접 방문한 현장조사 및 담당자 면담조사를 통해 생태관광지표를 확인하였다. 생태관광지표는 기후위기, 공기질 개선, 수자원 보전, 자연공존, 시민참여, 관광자원 관리 6가지 부문이다. 창원시 생태관광지역 6곳에 대한 점수를 살펴보면 가장 높게 나타난 것이 자연공존과 공기질 개선 부문이다. 하지만 수자원보전 부문 점수가 가장 낮아 전체 지역이 수자원 보전에 취약하였으며 관광자원 관리, 기후위기, 시민참여는 전체 지역이 비슷한 수준으로 나타났다. 저탄소 생태관광지표를 통해 평가한 결과 공통적으로 적용될 방안으로 첫 번째로, 창원시 저탄소 생태관광 인증제 운영, 자연물 또는 경관 중심의 관광지를 대상으로 인증제도 운영, 스마트 기후환경도시 선포에 따른 후속 조치로써 활용, 환경표지제도를 벤치마킹한 창원시 저탄소 생태관광 등급을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 두 번째로, 생태관광지역을 활성화하기 위해서는 이에 대한 안내 및 홍보가 매우 중요하다. 마지막으로지속 가능한 지역 생태환경 활성화를 위해서 지역 거버넌스를 활용한 운영이 무엇보다 제고되어야 한다.

Protected area based ecotourism is now the most interesting topic to the nature lover and policy maker throughout the world because of its linkage with economic benefits, protected area management and biodiversity conservation. Based on this premise our study explores the visitors' perception on the recreational potential of Kaptai National park and its potentiality in ecotourism development in Bangladesh. The field survey was carried out both in holidays and non-holidays of the week from the late winter season in 2009 to the spring season in 2010. A total of 118 visitors were interviewed with the help of a semi-structured questionnaire. Study findings revealed that about 62% male constitute the visitors group with the maximum number of visitors in the age of between 15-25 years (35.59%). The tourists were very much attracted by boat riding (93.22%) followed by scenic beauty of Rampahar-Sitapahar (85.59%). A major portion of about 57.14% tourists wished to visit the park within a year because they got a lot of pleasure from Natural and green environment (86.44%) followed by boating on Kaptai Lake (85.59%). Most of the visitors (36%) were happy about existing facilities but defined some problems such as tour guiding facility, food and drinking water supply, etc. About 71% and 66% respondents perceived that Kaptai National Park made them to be concerned and protective of nature and supports and sustains local ecosystem respectively and 43% respondents agreed that Kaptai National Park ensures the social equity and involve local people in ecotourism which are the most important elements of sustainable ecotourism. The present study results also predict that the park might be a good recreational area for enjoying with family members and group of friends through proper management and promoting the relationships among tourism, local people and biodiversity conservation.

생태관광 위주의 관광객이 빠르게 증가하면서 관광지에 대한 구체적인 정보에 대한 수요 역시 급증하고 있다. 탐방객을 대상으로 한 설문조사 결과 생태관광 자원 중에서는 역사나 문화보다는 자연생태 자원에 많은 관심을 가지고 있으며, 현재 부족하거나 보완되어야 할 내용으로는 지역에 대한 정보를 꼽고 있었다. 본 논문에서는 관광객들에게 정확하고 상세하고 표준화된 정보를 제공하기 위해 생태관광자원을 수요자 입장에서의 관광객의 활동 성격에 따른 분류와 생태자원에 의한 분류로 대분하였다. 그리고 다시 활동 성격에 따른 분류는 자연형, 교육형, 소통형, 모험형의 4가지 유형으로 세분하였다. 또한 이에 맞는 웹 기반의 홈페이지를 개발한 후 태안과 울릉도의 사례를 제시하였다. 향후 시범 운영을 통해 드러난 문제점을 보완한다면, 생태관광 분야에 있어서 모바일 기반의 디지털 스토리텔링 기술 표준을 제시할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
