인공점등에 의한 조기 산란유도 꿩집단의 산란능력과 난형 (Egg Production and Egg Shape of Early Egg Laying Group Induced by Artificial Light in Korean Ring-Necked Pheasant)

  • To investigate the response of egg production to the artificial light to induce early egg laying. and the changes of egg weight and egg shape during the egg laying cycle, 30 Korean ring-necked pullets and their 1,284 eggs layed under artificial light control were used in this study. The first egg was ohserved at the age of 31 wk, after 4 wk of stimulating light(16 hour light: 8 hour dark). Egg production rate during seven 2-wk periods from the begining of the first egg was 43.7% and a clear peak egg production(61.7%) was shown at the 4th 2-wk period. The effects of egg production period and pullet on the egg weight, egg length, egg width and egg shape index(width/length) were significant(P<0.01). In the egg production cycle. egg weight, egg length and egg width increased steadly with time. but the value of egg shape index increased up to the 3rd 2-wk period and then decreased. Repeatabilities from intraclass correlation for the egg weight, egg length. egg width and egg shape index were 0.61. 0.53, 0.49 and 0.48, respectively.

일반란 및 기능란의 난황속의 지방산 조성 및 함량 비교 (Comparison of Composition and Content of Fatty Acid in Egg Yolk Oil among General and Functional Eggs)

  • This study was designed to compare content and composition of fatty acid in egg yolk oil among general eggs from chicken, quail, duck. We also compared those of general and functional chicken egg. Fatty acids were determined by GC method and the results were as follows: Palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid and timnodonic acid were identified in egg of chicken, quail and duck. The major fatty acid was oleic acid and palmitic acid in three kinds of eggs. Arachidonic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were analyzed in egg of quail , but no in chicken. Monounsaturaterd fatty acid (MUFA) was higher in egg yolk oil of chicken and quail. Polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) was higher in duck egg. Ginseng egg had significantly higher palmitic acid and oleic acid lower than general chicken egg. Gamgoal egg had lower palmitic acid and oleic acid, and higher palmitoleic acid and stearic acid than general chiekcn egg. The content of oleic acid was lower in DHA egg than in general chiecken egg, but arachidonic acid was detected only in DHA egg. Ginseng egg had the highest content of saturated fatty acid among chicken eggs. The content of MUFA acid was the highest in gamgoal egg and general chicken egg. DHA egg had the most amount of PUFA among all chicken egg.

EFFECT OF FEEDING A LATHYRUS TOXIN ON EGG WEIGHT, EGG PRODUCTION AND EGG MALFORMITY IN LAYING CHICKEN

  • Beta-aminopropionitrile (BAPN)-a Lathyrus toxin was fed to laying chicken to investigate effects on egg weight, production and malformity. Two feeding trials were conducted where the levels of BAPN varied from 0.1 to 0.6 g per kg diet. The responses with regard to egg weight, egg production and the incidence of malformed eggs due to varying concentrations of the toxin were recorded and the results on weekly changes in these important variables were evaluated by plotting graphs. The results showed that there were increasing trends in egg weight and egg shell abnormalities and a decreasing trend in egg production as the dietary level of BAPN was increased indicating that the responses of layers were dose dependent. The effects on egg weight, egg production and egg malformity disappeared following withdrawal of the toxin from the diets.

누에 백란 계통의 유전적 특성구명을 위한 유전.생화적 연구 (Genetical and Biochemical Studies on White Egg Strains of Silkworm, Bombyx mori)

  • To elucidate genetical and biochemical characters of the white egg strains preserved in National Sericultural and Entomology Research Institute(NSERI), RDA of Korea, the genetic segregation ratios in egg colours were investigated by crossing test, and egg pigment precursors were also analyzed by paper chromatography and UV-spectrophotometer scanning. The result obtained by crossing test between the white egg strains and normal one illustrated that the most of white egg strains showed typical segregation ratio of white egg-2(w-2), while maternal inheritance which can be seen in white egg-1(w-1) was not found in any white egg strains. Paper chromatographic analysis showed that egg extracts of all the white egg strains contained 3OH-kynurenine, while kynurenine which is known to existed in white egg-1(w-1) could not be detected at all. From the results of these experiments, it was found that all the white egg strains preserved in NSERI were classified as the white egg-2(w-2) strain.

산란형질에 대한 한국 재래닭 계통간 교배종의 잡종강세 및 결합능력 추정

  • 순수계통으로 유지되는 한국 재래닭 계통간 교배종의 산란형질에 대하여 일반능력과 잡종강세 및 결합능력을 추정한 결과 일반능력은 시산일령, 산란수 및 난중 등 모든 형질에서 순종에 비해 향상을 보였으며, 시산일령, 산란수, 난중 및 난각강도 등에서 접종강세효과가 높았다. 일반결합능력은 시산일령, 산란수, 난형지수 및 난각두께에서, 특수 결합능력은 산란수, 난중 및 난각 두께에서, 상반교잡효과는 산란수, 난형지수 및 난각두께에서 중요하게 나타났다. 형질에 따라 차이가 있었으나 순종에서는 Y계통, 교배종에서는 $Y\times$B조합이 결합능력효과가 높은 편으로 재래닭 개량의 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

An Analysis of the Egg Distribution Industry in Korea and Developed Countries in the Post COVID-19

  • Purpose: This study aims to set desirable directions for Korea's egg industry by comparing and analyzing the egg distribution structure and policies between Korea and other countries. Research design, data and methodology: We analyzed the current state of egg distribution in Korea, and based on this analysis, we derived problems. In addition, by comprehensively analyzing the egg distribution structure and policy issues in the US, EU, and Japan. Results: As a result of the analysis of the egg distribution status and policy in the country to be analyzed, it was found that for the development of the egg industry in Korea, it is necessary to unify the distribution system for transparent and stable management of the egg distribution process. It was found that detailed and clear information creation and management of egg production and distribution processes were required. Conclusions: We need to establish a regional egg distribution facility base and stipulate that eggs produced in Korea must be compulsorily traded through the regional facility base. Seemingly, scaling-up of the industry is the priority, but the government is promoting various policies to expand small and medium-sized egg joint markets, with limitations in improving the problems of the existing egg distribution structure.

난용계의 초산일령이 산란능력과 란중에 미치는 영향 (Effects of the first egg day on egg production and egg weight in layer)

  • For the purpose of identifing the reationship between the first egg day and other economic traits; egg production and egg weight, this experiment was divided 200 birds into four first egg day groups and observed egg number and egg weight every day during 11 months from 2nd December, 1979 to 31st October, 1980 at Animal farm, Yeungnam University. Birds showing 148∼155day in first egg day layed the most eggs among four groups and they produced not only 1.5g heavier eggs than the earlist first egg day group but also similar eggs compared with later matured birds. In egg production above 55g, 148∼155day group showed the best record as a 83.72% of total eggs and also the most egg mass during 11 months.

미생물 발효 당밀을 산란계 사료에 첨가 시 계란생산성과 특성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Effects of Dietary Microbial-Fermented Molasses on Egg Production and Egg Quality in Laying Hens)

  • This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary microbial-fermented molasses on egg production and egg quality in laying hens.In total, 90 Hy-line Brown laying hens were divided into two treatment groups (control and 1% microbial-fermented molasses)with three replicates of 15 birds each. During the experimental period, supplementation of hen diets with 1% microbial-fermented molassesdid not influence egg weight, hen-day egg production, egg mass, and feed conversion ratio (p > 0.05), except for feed intake. Regarding egg quality, diets containing 1% microbial-fermented molasses significantly affected eggshell thickness, Haugh unit, and albumen height (p < 0.05). However, there were no remarkable differences between control and 1% microbial-fermented molasses in eggshell color and egg yolk color (p > 0.05). These results indicate that supplementing 1% microbial-fermented molasses to the diet of laying hens improved egg quality parameters such as eggshell thickness, Haugh unit, and albumen height rather than egg production.

사료내 고추(Capsicum annum)씨가 채란계 생산성과 난질에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Dietary Hot Pepper(Cap8icum annum) Seed on Performance and Egg Quality in Layers)

  • The effects of dietary levels and feeding period of Korean hot pepper (Capsicum annum) seed on the performance and egg quality were investigated. Rhode Island Red layers of 84 wk of age were fed the experimental diets containing O.O(Control), 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0% of HPS, respectively, in individual cages during 10 wk of the feeding period. The dietary hot pepper seed significantly(P<0.05) improved hen-day egg production and daily egg rnass, but reduced egg weight(P<0.05). During the 10 wk of the feeding period, the egg production and daily egg mass improved after 6 or 7 wk of feeding 0.5, 1.0 or 2.0% hot pepper seed diets. When the layers were fed the 3.0% HPS diet, it only took 1 wk to improve the egg production and daily egg mass. In addition, the birds fed 3.0% hot pepper seed diet showed relatively constant egg weight while those of the Control increased gradually as the feeding period passed. The dietary hot pepper seed significantly improved the eggshell thickness, and redness and whole color of egg yolk. The results indicate that dietary hot pepper seed( $\geq$2.0%) may improve the egg production and egg shell thickness, and increase the redness of egg yolk in layers.

우리 나라 농장 사육 타조 알의 난질 조사 (Investigation on the Egg Quality of the Ostrich Farming in Korea)

  • 이 실험은 우리나라 농가에서 사육되고 있는 타조(African ostrich) 신선란의 내 외부적인 품질 특성을 구명하고자 하였다. 타조의 난형은 장경 15.1~16.1cm, 단경 12.1~13.6cm로, 난형지수는 평균 81.0의 값을 나타내었고, 난각색은 계란보다 광택이 좋은 백색을 나타내었다. 계산식에 의한 난각강도와 난표면적 은 각각 $41.155kg/cm^3$$804.7cm^2$이었다. 타조 난의 난각두께는 난각막을 포함하여 1.89mm로, 각 부위별 난각두께는 거의 비슷한 값을 나타내었으며, 난각막 두께는 0.10mm로, 적도부가 두껍고 둔단부가 상대적으로 얇은 것으로 나타났다. 난각 기공수는 19.77개/$cm^2$으로, 첨단부의 기공수가 대체로 많은 것으로 나타났으며, 1개 알의 총기공수는 약 15241개 정도로 측정되었다. 타조 알의 각 부위의 난중에 대한 비율은 난황 25.1%, 난백 58.2% 그리고 난각은 16.7%이었고, 난백에 대한 난황의 비율(Y/W)은 0.43을 나타내었다. 타조의 알에 대한 난백과 난황의 품질을 조사한 결과 난액에 있어 직경과 높이는 각각 19.7cm 와 13.2mm로 난백지수는 0.07 이며, H.U는 -69.7, pH는 8.3이었으며, 난황에 있어서는 직경이 14.4 cm, 높이 29.4 mm로 난황지수는 0.20으로 나타났고, pH는 6.6 이었다. 또한 난황색은 두터운 난황막으로 인하여 계란보다는 엽은 황색을 보였다.
