  • In this paper, we implemented memristor emulator circuit on Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and observed the inherent pinched hysteresis characteristic of memristors by measuring the emulator circuit on PCB. The memristor emulator circuit implemented on PCB is composed of simple discrete devices not using any complicated circuit blocks thus we can integrate the memristor emulator circuits in very small layout area on Silicon substrate. The programmable gain amplifier is designed using the proposed memristor emulator circuit and verified that the amplifier's voltage gain can be controlled by programming memristance of the emulator circuit by circuit simulation. Threshold switching is also realized in the proposed emulator circuit thus memristance can remain unchanged when the input voltage applied to the emulator circuit is lower than VREF. The memristor emulator circuit and the programmable gain amplifier using the proposed circuit can be useful in teaching the device operation, functions, characteristics, and applications of memristors to students when thet cannot access to device and fabrication technologies of real memristors.

  • In this study, we suggest an emulator for generating multiple heterogeneous interference signals in the Korean radio frequency identification/ubiquitous sensor network (RFID/USN) frequency band. The proposed emulator uses only one universal software radio peripheral to generate multiple heterogeneous interference signals more economically. Moreover, the physical and media access control parameters can be adjusted in real time using the LabVIEW program, thereby making it possible to create various time-varying interference environments easily. As an example showing the capability of the proposed emulator, multiple interference signals consisting of a frequency-hopping RFID signal and two LoRa signals with different spreading factors were generated. The generated signals were confirmed in both frequency and time domains. From the experimental results, we verified that our emulator could successfully generate multiple heterogeneous interference signals with different frequency and time domain characteristics.

  • This paper describes the development of an open source motion sensor emulator. It helps developers to understand the motion sensor and its data better. Through this emulator, the realtime or stored motion sensor data can be applied to the applications that utilize motion sensors. The data of motion sensors which include accelerometer sensor, magnetic field sensor, gyro sensor, GPS, and so on, can be collected by using smart phones or motion sensors. We also describe a visualizer which shows various graphs, video and 3D animations based on the data sent by the emulator. It helps developers to understand motion sensors and how to use the sensors. The developed emulator is compatible with Android sensor simulator.

  • This paper presents a new concept to implement and to control of tactile reproduction simulator by implementation of compliance emulator system. Compliance emulator system is a kind of levitation system using magnetic force. In the compliance emulator system, a floated plate moves vertically. When an external force is applied to the plate, the system produces a controlled reaction force by using 6 electromagnet. For the control, a LVDT displacement sensor and PD control method is used.

  • During the development of flight software, the processor emulator and satellite simulator are essential tools for software development and verification, which can be substituted for the actual hardware. LEO satellites being developed by KARI recently use the MCM-ERC32SC processor for on-board computer (OBC). For the flight software (FSW) development and testing, the software-based spacecraft simulator was developed using TSIM-ERC32 processor emulator from Aeroflex Gaisler. It is needed to get rid of the constraints and dependencies of TSIM-ERC32 processor emulator and to obtain high performance processor emulator to develop full satellite simulator. This paper presents the development of the ERC32 emulator based on open source dynamic translator, QEMU, as the first step. And it describes the software development and testing/debugging on the developed emulator.

  • In this study, we propose a software-defined radio-based frequency interference emulator in the space-time domain. This emulator can easily model actual interference environments because of the versatile programming capability of the universal software radio peripheral and LabVIEW. As an example of an interfering network using the contention-based multiple access scheme in the time domain, we emulate a coordinated Wi-Fi network that consists of one access point and two Wi-Fi nodes. Results show that our emulator can successfully model multiple interfering signals in the Wi-Fi network and easily adjust various space-time domain parameters.

  • Emulations of memristor-family elements are very important, since their physical realizations are very difficult to achieve with recent technologies. Although some previous studies succeeded in designing memristor and memcapacitor emulators, no significant contribution towards meminductor emulator has been presented so far. The implementation of a meminductor emulator is very important, since real meminductors are not expected to appear in near future. We designed the first meminductor emulator whose inductance can be varied by an external current source without employing any memrisitve system. The principle of our architecture and its feasibility have been verified using SPICE simulation.

  • In this paper, a wayside signaling emulator systems developed for testing to carbone ATC/ATO/TWC systems adopted in SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Coperation) line 7, 8 is presented. Informations that are required to train movement with driverless, such as stations status, destination station, restriction speed and train modes are provided through the wayside signaling emulator. The developed emulator systems can be constructed to 1.5km testing tracks and the end points of track, are emulated to the arbitrary stations in SMRT line 7, 8.
