The core issue of ethical problem solving in engineering is to understand what exactly happened and to define its nature. Problems often arise mostly in morally complex situations. Traditional philosophical theories usually focus on extreme conflicts of interest and suggest moral theory-centered problem solving methods. However, these methods are not only difficult to specifically apply to real situations, but also are likely to fail to deal with actual moral issues in engineering fields. This study aims to develop more desirable ethical problem solving methods, based on STS (Science and Technology Studies) and engineering ethics combined. First, we have examined the engineering ethics with implications of an STS perspective, then have analyzed traditional ethical problem solving methods in a critical point of view. This study will suggest a new ethical problem solving method named Matrix Guide, based upon those analyses. Specifically, this study classifies four stages of problem definition, analysis, solving, and feedback. Here, we focus on how to combine technological and non-technological factors in each stage, when we are facing morally complex situations in engineering sectors.

In this paper, we describe the effect of information and communication ethics education to check cyber crime on teenagers. For 97 high school students, we implement the information and communication ethics education about the cyber crime and its corresponding legal knowledge during 30 minutes. And then we analyze the effect of the education focusing on the legal knowledge by comparing the students' pre- and post-questionnaire responses.

This thesis attempts to describe the basis and value system respectively selected by opinions pro and against bio engineering technology and to induce discussions on the basis of the concept called 'two culture' issue by C. P. Snow - science culture, human culture, a teleological ethical theory and a deontological ethical theory, traditional eugenics, and liberalism eugenics. In addition, it will discuss about inconvenient truth about science and bio engineering which we have wrongly understood up to now - a myth on objectivity of science, autonomy of science and a scientist, a hunger of world, science expected to be responsible for all men. Lastly, it will describe study ethics and social responsibility, openness, moral imagination, self-examination, character of a bio engineer as professionalism.

Because of the growth of internet and development of smart phone technology, peoples are able to connect the internet easily and convenient at anytime, and anywhere. The other hand, that take place many serious social side-effect and one of a typical cases is the problem of malicious replay in weaken of netizen's internet ethics. The problem of malicious replay is increasing more and more the seriousness of the problem and the victims are suffering from much the pains of the trauma by a malicious replay. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate and analyze actual on aware of internet ethics and malicious replay for university students and then we propose the improvement of the problem.

In spite of advantages to using internet, but there are many adverse effects. The most well-known negative effects include internet addiction, personal information infringement, copyright violation, spread of harmful information, cyber bullying, online fraud, hacking and virus distribution, and online prostitution. Until now, the government and public organization strived to prevent and reduce the negative effects but have faced limitations. In accordance with, one of the measures the solve the problems caused by internet is to strengthen the internet ethics education. This study aims to consider and analyze the negative effects of internet and provide measures to promote internet ethics education to prevent and reduce such effects.

Metaverse provides a simulated environment that can produce various values while conducting economic, social, and cultural activities in a digital society where the virtual and real worlds are connected. In this paper, the direction of technological progress is predicted by analyzing the characteristics of Metaverse services and their businesses. Technologies and latest researches for the realization of the Metaverse service platform are also explored. In addition, Metaverse Ethics to construct a sustainable Metaverse and Metaverse UX to increase users' service participation are also discussed. Moreover, the R&D promotion strategy for Metaverse services are presented.

The purpose of this study is to test empirically the effect of Islamic business ethics and market conditions on organizational performance in state-owned construction companies in Indonesia. Data collection in this study was conducted online and the total number of data used was 81 respondents, both directors, heads of departments, and managers (general and project). This study uses a partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) with a quantitative approach that aims to test hypotheses and relationships between variables, such as Islamic business ethics, market conditions, project management, organizational culture, competitive strategy, and organizational performance. This study shows Islamic business ethics has a significant direct effect on organizational performance. Market conditions do not have a direct significant effect on organizational performance. Meanwhile, the mediating variables of project management and competitive strategy have a significant direct effect on organizational performance. Organizational culture does not have a significant influence on organizational performance. Conversely, market conditions have a significant influence through the mediating variables of project management and competitive strategy on organizational performance. Besides, this study is an attempt to determine the impact of the criteria factors affecting the measurement of the performance of construction organizations in Indonesia in terms of the external environment and organizational structure.

This paper tries the systematic approach to risk which is a major theme in engineering ethics utilizing science and technology studies. The types of risk can be classified as technical risk, methodological risk, epistemological risk by the degree of uncertainty. The strategies for risk management can be assorted to applied science strategy, professional consultancy strategy, post-normal science strategy. These types and strategies of risk request different kinds of expertise such as technocratic expertise, interactive expertise, democratic expertise. This paper can not only contribute to complement and extend engineering ethics education but also be linked with the goals of engineering education in general.

The purpose of this study is to clarify that critical writing can be a positive stimulus factor for the cultivation of critical thinking through actual cases of writing education targeting engineering students in universities. Critical writing education is a very important way to develop critical thinking necessary for acquiring scientific knowledge, sharing social values, creativity and cultivating new production capacity. Especially, when critical writing education is performed with materials that maintain critical view of social reality such as the movie "Bowling for Columbine", it is characterized by the fact that it is naturally combined with the dimension of engineering ethics faced by engineers from the analysis and judgment of social reality. This is an example of the fact that critical thinking education for engineering students does not necessarily meet their major areas.

The main purpose of this study was to develop a program outcomes assessment tool using reflection journal. Reflection journal has recently come to gain more attention from school as an alternative assessment tool. Although numerous studies reconfirmed the educational importance and value of reflection journal as an assessment tool, research on the assessment tool of the engineering accreditation, based on education view is scarce. After literature reviews about the case studies on the program outcomes assessment, this study, to analyse the current assessment tools, and then, examined the educational implications of reflection journal as a program outcomes assessment tool. This study suggested the assessment tool using reflection journal for PO6 (teamwork) and PO11 (engineering ethics), one of the most important assessment items in engineering accreditation. In this study, we used the performance criteria, assessment criteria, rubric, and closed the loop to measure the teamwork and engineering ethics. The result of this study is significant in terms of guiding the future evaluation system development for program outcomes.
