  • The Weibull variate is commonly used as a lifetime distribution in reliability applications. Estimation of parameters is revisited in the two-parameter Weibull distribution. The method of product spacings, the method of quantile estimates and the method of least squares are applied to this distribution. A comparative study between a simple minded estimate, the maximum likelihood estimate, the product spacings estimate, the quantile estimate, the least squares estimate, and the adjusted least squares estimate is presented.

  • In this paper, Weibull distribution is applied to the lifetme distribution of a device. The method of Bayesian estimate used to estimate requiring parameter in order to predict lifetime of device using accelerated lifetime test data, namely failure time of device. The method of Bayesian estimate needs prior information in order to estimate parameter. But this paper proposed the method of parameter estimate without prior information. As stress is temperature, Arrhenius model is applied and the method of linear estimate is applied to predict lifetime of device at the state of normal operation.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate robot position without landmark. At first, it is studied to estimate robot state using Markov decision rule. And, a matching method is discussed for estimating current position more accurately under the estimated current state. At second, we combine or fuse the matching method with the POMDP method in order to estimate the position under a dynamically changing environment. Finally we will show that our method can estimate the position precisely and robustly of which error are not cumulated through simulation results.

  • This paper has proposed presumable method of ergonomics estimate index from evoked potential of visual stimulation for establishment a fixed ergonomics estimate index. The proposed method presumes continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using prony method. Band characteristic of alpha and beta band, and that of background and evoked potential was analyzed using FFT method. And, that were presumed continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics using porny method. As a result of that proposed method presumed band characteristic, continuance time and amplitude of ergonomics, classification of ergonomics of impatient, rage and fear were practicable.

  • The gauge-Uzawa method which has been constructed in [11] is a projection type method to solve the evolution Navier-Stokes equations. The method overcomes many shortcomings of projection methods and displays superior numerical performance [11, 12, 15, 16]. However, we have obtained only suboptimal accuracy via the energy estimate in [11]. In this paper, we study semi-discrete gauge-Uzawa method to prove optimal accuracy via energy estimate. The main key in this proof is to construct the intermediate equation which is formed to gauge-Uzawa algorithm. We will estimate velocity errors via comparing with the intermediate equation and then evaluate pressure errors via subtracting gauge-Uzawa algorithm from Navier-Stokes equations.

  • Heart rate variability (HRV) in electrocardiogram (ECG) is an important index for understanding the health status of heart and the autonomic nervous system. Most HRV analysis approaches are based on the proper heart rate (HR) data. Estimation of heart rate is thus a key process in the HRV study. In this paper, we report an innovative method to estimate the heart rate. This method is mainly based on the concept of periodicity transform (PT) and instantaneous period (IP) estimate. The method presented is accordingly called the "PT-IP method." It does not require ECG R-wave detection and thus possesses robust noise-immune capability. While the noise contamination, ECG time-varying morphology, and subjects' physiological variations make the R-wave detection a difficult task, this method can help us effectively estimate HR for medical research and clinical diagnosis. The results of estimating HR from empirical ECG data verify the efficacy and reliability of the proposed method.

  • Recently, Construction Projects are being much bigger and more complex. So the importance of Construction Planning and Management is increasing and increasing because of the Construction Projects is involved in a variety of construction-related subjects. Competitive of the Construction Industry decided Cost, Construction Duration and Productivity. But they were just focused on Cost Saving instead of Construction Duration and Productivity. However, they have to finish construction projects using minimum cost and duration with quality and function of required level for successful Construction projects. Thus, current high exchange rate and high period, it is clear to decrease construction cost and to do economic construction in huge Construction Projects and it means more advanced Construction Schedule Management needs for economic construction. But Construction Scheduling Planning, basic of Construction Schedule Management, adjusted contract period without Pre-Planning, just depending on experience and ability of Construction Engineer. Because of that, this study suggests new Duration Estimate Method using Stochastic Model in BIM Environment for advanced Construction Schedule Management. Existing Duration Estimate Methods are just modified wrong points of them or analyzed effective factors of construction schedule. However, New Duration Estimate Method is just consists of Stochastic Model and BIM Environment without existing Duration Estimate Methods. So, new method has creativity and specialty. After this research, it would be a great model in construction industry field.

  • The data observed at different positions are called the estimate of interested variable at new observation point on the Kriging utilize the space estimate technique, in which case there is correlation spatially. In this paper we provide the estimate for Variogram and Kriging methods as a field of kriging theory and dealt with actually measured data. And at the same time we forecast the amount of ozone that was not measured at this point by Kriging method and compared Ordinary Kriging method with Inverse Distance Kriging method.

  • Maximum likelihood method is utilized to estimate the two parameters of generalized exponential distribution based on grouped and censored data. This method does not give closed form for the estimates, thus numerical procedure is used. Reliability measures for the generalized exponential distribution are calculated. Testing the goodness of fit for the exponential distribution against the generalized exponential distribution is discussed. Relevant reliability measures of the generalized exponential distributions are also evaluated. A set of real data is employed to illustrate the results given in this paper.

  • We propose a method for removing interference and noise to estimate target information. In wireless channels, information signals are subject to interference and noise, making it is difficult to accurately estimate the desired signal. To estimate the desired information signal, it is essential to remove the noise and interference from the received signal, extracting only the desired signal. If the received signal noise and interference are not removed, the estimated information signal will have a large error in distance and direction, and the exact location of the target cannot be estimated. This study aims to accurately estimate the desired target in space. The objective is to achieve more presice target estimation than existing methods and enhance target resolution. An estimation method is proposed to improve the accuracy of target estimation. The proposed target estimation method obtains optimal weights using linear constraints and the minimum variance method. Through simulation, the performance of the proposed method and the existing method is analyzed. The proposed method successfully estimated all four targets, while the existing method only estimated two targets. The results show that the proposed method has better resolutiopn and superior estimation capability than the existing method.
