Development of Expertise-based Safety Performance Evaluation Model

  • Construction projects have become increasingly complex in recent years, resulting in substantial safety hazards and frequent fall accidents. In an attempt to prevent fall accidents, various safety management systems have been developed. These systems have mainly been evaluated qualitatively and subjectively by practitioners or supervisors, and there are few tools that can be used to quantitatively evaluate the performance of safety management systems. We propose an expertise-based safety performance evaluation model (EXSPEM), which integrates a fuzzy approach-based analytic hierarchy process and a regression approach. The proposed model uses S-shaped curves to represent the degree of contribution by subjective expertise and is verified by a genetic algorithm. To illustrate its practical application, EXSPEM was applied to evaluate the safety performance of a newly developed real-time mobile detector monitoring system. It is expected that this model will be a helpful tool for systematically evaluating the application of a robust safety control and management system in a complex construction environment.

  • In this paper will be presented an algorithm for designing of a railway interlocking table which is a document describing the functional specification of the interlocking device. The ability to produce an interlocking table has been handed down in the signalling engineers society. And the signalling engineer makes the most of his expertise to produce an interlocking table. But, the expertise has not yet been organized into technical system, the core of the expertise is a hard nut to crack. Therefore, we analyze into signal engineering expertise, and propose a generalization of interlocking notion. Also, an algorithm is drawn up based on a train route setting principle to solve practical and general problems by computer And the performance of the algorithm is evaluated for test program based on AutoCAD technology. The evaluation result shows that it can be utilized as the effective algorithm for computer control of the signalling system as interlocking device, that it improved in safety

A Study on the Deriving Factors of Professionalism for the Analysis of Architectural Professionalism in Korea (한국 건축분야 전문가주의 분석을 위한 전문가주의 구성요소 도출에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to derive the factors of professionalism through the literature review about professionalism to analyze the architectural field of professionalism in Korea. Factors of professionalism are defined through definition and characteristics of professionalism, historical progress of professionalism formation and development in Western nations and Korea, and various arguments and attributes by sociologists and other educational experts. Derived factors of professionalism are expertise, systemicity, exclusiveness, autonomy, and publicness. Expertise and systemicity are related with basic aspect, exclusiveness and autonomy are related with structural aspect, and publicness is related with attitude aspect of professionalism. The synchronic structure and diachronic change of architectural professionalism in Korea can be analyzed through derived five factors-expertise, systemicity, exclusiveness, autonomy, and publicness.

Changes of Pre-service Teachers' Teaching Expertise through Lesson Plan Analysis

  • This study analyzed the change of teaching expertise of pre-service teachers through TPACK education. In this study, we applied a programming-based TPACK education program developed by Kim and Lee (2019) to 20 prospective teachers. To analyze the pre-service teachers' teaching expertise analyzed the lesson plan prepared before, during and after applying the educational program. As a result, Few teachers use technology in lesson plan, and the design of the instructor-led or experiment to confirmed content in curriculum or textbook. The use of technology has increased in the second Teaching Plan, but the technology was not used depending on the educational context. In the third lesson plan, all pre-service teachers were able to use technology in an educational context. Moreover, the teaching expertise of the pre-service teacher showed a statistically significant improvement in the lesson plan. This study founded that the programming-based TPACK education program was effective in enhancing the teaching expertise of the pre-service teacher.

Enhancing Expertise as Math Academic Counselor : Self-study for Math Teacher (수학학습 상담 전문성 신장을 위한 자기연구)

  • This study focuses on enhancing expertise as a study advisor for mathematic teacher in field based on self-study method. By advising math study with students in school, the research was carried out 'process & content of mathematic study method advisement', 'process & content of the self-questioning by the math study adviser', and 'enhancing expertise as a math study counsellor by self-study method'. Overall process has been proceeded through preparation, experiment, result & analysis. Experiment has been done based on consultation modeling for academic high school which ran five times. During consultation, based on analysis & result, researcher has recorded 'self-questioning' report. This report is utilized for 'self-examination' for the researcher along the discussion with counselor for enhancing expertise as a study advisor. By above process, practitioner identifies each own's pros & cons as a mathematic study advisor and strengthens the skill while understanding the subject: student. by 'self-studying' method, advisor enhances its own expertise as a teacher with the achieving student and learns practical knowledge for a math study advisor.

Study on the Influence of Online WOM Information Characteristics on the Intention of Information Acceptance and also Re-WOM: Focused on the Receiver's Expertis (온라인 구전정보특성이 정보수용의도와 재구전 의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구: 수신자의 전문성을 중심으로)

  • An actual analysis was made regarding how different the effect of the online WOM information characteristics on the expansion of the WOM information characteristics was depending on the level of the receiver's expertise in consideration of the sender's expertise, the vividness and Consensus of WOM information which can affect the acceptance of WOM information in this study. To begin with, the analysis results showed that the online WOM information characteristics had the positive effect on the information acceptance intention in proportion to the sender's expertise and the vividness and Consensus of WOM information. Secondly, the information acceptance intention was found to have a positive effect on the re-WOM intention. Finally, the level of receiver's expertise was found to control the effect of the online WOM information characteristics on the information acceptance intention.

Elements and Changes of Teacher Expertise for the Science Gifted : Focused on Mathematics and Science Teachers in Science High Schools (고등학교급 과학영재 지도교사의 전문성 요소와 차이: 과학고 수학·과학 교사를 중심으로)

  • In this study, we identified the elements of teachers'expertise for the science gifted in science high school, and examined teacher perceptions of expertise. Through previous studies and expert consultations, 5 categories such as subject knowledge, inquiry teaching, pedagogical knowledge, student guidance and school work were derived. Based on these 5 categories and sub-element, a questionnaire was constructed. Total 284 mathematics and science teachers from 19 science high schools across the country responded to the survey. The desirable level of expertise and current level of responding teachers' own expertise were examined and compared to each other, and group comparisons were accomplished according to teacher career, type of degree and final degree. Some implications are suggested for the professional development for teachers of the science gifted.

Tutors' Content Expertise and Experience on Student Satisfaction in Problem-Based Learning Nursing Curriculum (간호학 교육에서의 문제중심학습에서 튜터의 내용전문성과 튜터경험에 따른 학습자 만족도)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the differences of student satisfaction depending on tutor's content expertise and experience in PBL of nursing. Nursing department, the subject of this study, is operating Hybrid PBL Curriculum that integrates the courses in nursing for all grades. Tutor's expertise was categorized based on their final dissertations and the clinical fields for which they worked. Tutor's experience in PBL is less than one year for beginners and more than 10 years for experts. After the PBL class for 6 weeks, the 3rd grade students were surveyed. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the student satisfaction according to the content expertise, however, the student satisfaction depending on tutor's experience and the interaction effect between tutor's content expertise and experience were not significant. This study has raised the importance of the role of tutor as content expert in PBL. It is suggested that future studies be repeated for more tutors with diverse subject areas and majors to examine the differences between diverse variables other than student satisfaction.

Developments of Evaluation Expertise of Technology Innovation Program for Knowledge Economy by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy: The Case of the National IT Promotion Agency (지식경제 기술혁신사업의 평가 전문성 발전 방향: 정보통신산업진흥원 사례)

  • This work aims firstly to analyse the evaluation expertise in the National IT Industry Promotion Agency(NIPA) which is charge of funding and promoting R&D programs in the field of IT industry, a main part of 'Technology Innovation Program for Knowledge Economy' supported by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. It will also discuss the policy means for improvement of the evaluation expertise of the NIPA. The results show that the evaluation system of the NIPA has been fair in stage of the selection of evaluators and the career management system of evaluators. But it will be necessary for improvement in stage of the surroundings supporting the expertise during evaluation practise. Therefore, in order to improve the evaluation expertise of the NIPA, I suggested and discussed 12 policy means in accordance with the short term perspective and long term one.

Changes in citizens' trust about '4 Rivers Project' and the Prospect of the Scientific-Tecnnological Citizenship (4대강 사업에서 시민의 신뢰 변화와 과학기술 시민자격의 전망)

  • In this article, I try to understand the changing patterns of 'politics of expertise' by looking at the change of the citizens' opinion on '4 Rivers Project', particularly the change of citizens' trust in expert, through data analysis on 'Citizen Opinion Survey on Science and Technology'. Findings are as follows: The reliability of government and the pros side experts downed, on the other hand, the reliability of the opposite side experts and environmental groups have maintained or slightly increased. This shows the fact that '4 Rivers Project' is the field of political confrontation surrounding the expertise. The government decision-making process on '4 Rivers Project' can be examined from the perspective of 'the politics of expertise', in the sense that the process is related to the utilization of scientific and technological expertise-power surrounding the project feasibility. The facts that citizens are interested in scientific-technological and ecological issues which are largely affected by expertise, and they think that the 4 Rivers Project affects the their daily lives, are the result of rising 'scientific-technological citizenship'.
