A study on the optimal condition of the fabrication glass-cloth/epoxy composite material (Glass-cloth/epoxy 복합재료의 최적제작조건에 관한 연구)

  • This paper is to investigate the optimal condition of fabrication for glass-cloth/epoxy composite material. According to the result in this paper, in fabrication of composite materials, the optimal condition of treatment for epoxy silane coupling agent is 1.5% water solution of silane coupling agent by weight. Then, % weight ratio of silane coupling agent VS, glass cloth is about 0.3%. And the optimal post cured condition of glass cloth/epoxy composite material is about 30 hours at 100$^{\circ}C$.

The observation of solar cell's micro-crack depending on EVA Sheet's lamination condition for photovoltaic module (PV 모듈용 EVA Sheet의 Lamination 공정 조건에 따른 태양전지 크랙발생 현상 관찰)

  • Recently, the thickness of solar cell gets thinner to reduce the quantity of silicon. And the reduced thickness make it easy to be broken while PV module fabrication process. This phenomenon might make PV module's maximum power and durability down. So, when using thin solar cell for PV module fabrication, it is needed to optimize the material and fabrication condition which is quite different from normal thick solar cell process. Normally, gel-content of EVA sheet should be higher than 80% so PV module has long term durability. But high gel-content characteristic might cause micro-crack on solar cell. In this experiment, we fabricated several specimen by varying curing temperature and time condition. And from the gel-content measurement, we figure the best fabrication condition. Also we examine the crack generation phenomenon during experiment.

  • Aspheric polymer lens fabrication using isothermal compression molding is presented in this paper. Due to increasing definition of an image sensor, higher precision is required by a lens which can be used as a part of an imageforming optical module. Injection molding is a factory standard method for a polymer optical lens. But achievable precision using injection molding has a formidable limitation due to the machining of complex mold structure and melting and cooling down a polymer melt under high pressure condition during forming process. To overcome the precision requirement and limitation using injection molding method, isothermal compression molding is applied to fabrication of a polymer optical lens. The fabrication condition is determined by numerical simulations of temperature distribution and given material properties. Under the found condition, the lens having a high precision can successfully be reproduced and does not show birefringence which results often in optical degradation.

  • To survive in outdoor environments, photovoltaic modules rely on packaging materials to provide requisite durability. We analyzed the properties of encapsulant materials that are important for photovoltaic module packaging. Recently, the thickness of solar cell gets thinner to reduce the quantity of silicon. And the reduced thickness make it easy to be broken while PV module fabrication process. Solar cell's micro cracks are increasing the breakage risk over the whole value chain from the wafer to the finished module, because the wafer or cell is exposed to tensile stress during handling and processing. This phenomenon might make PV module's maximum power and durability down. Design and Fabrication of Super Junction MOSFET Based on Trench Filling and Bottom Implantation Process

  • In Super Junction MOSFET, Charge Balance is the most important issue of the trench filling Super Junction fabrication process. In order to achieve the best electrical characteristics, the N type and P type drift regions must be fully depleted when the drain bias approaches the breakdown voltage, called Charge Balance Condition. In this paper, two methods from the fabrication process were used at the Charge Balance condition: Trench angle decreasing process and Bottom implantation process. A lower on-resistance could be achieved using a lower trench angle. And a higher breakdown voltage could be achieved using the bottom implantation process. The electrical characteristics of manufactured discrete device chips are compared with those of the devices which are designed of TCAD simulation.

  • In this paper, we propose a simple and low-cost fabrication method of polymer microlens using solvent-vapor-assisted reflow (SVAR). Metal molds for replication of polymer were fabricated using micro milling and the cylindrical shape of polymer was imprinted using hot-embossing process. The cylindrical shape of polymer was changed to hemispherical lens shape by SVAR. The characteristics of fabricated microlens were evaluated according to the condition of SVAR such as temperature and time. The focal length of polymer microlens could be controlled more easily in low-temperature and long-time condition than in high-temperature and short-time condition. That is, the level of concentrated light to focal point could be improved through the control of temperature and time. Also, we confirmed that toluene was more appropriate solvent than acetone in fabrication of PMMA polymer microlens using SVAR.

Fabrication and Mechanical Properties of TiNi/Al2024 Composites by Hot-Press Method (고온 프레스법에 의한 TiNi/Al2024 복합재료의 제조 및 기계적 특성평가)

  • Shape memory alloy has been used to improve the tensile strength of composite by the occurrence of compressive residual stress in matrix using its shape memory effect. In order to fabricate shape memory alloy composite, TiNi alloy fiber and Al2024 sheets were used as reinforcing material and matrix, respectively. In this study, TiNi/Al2024 shape memory alloy composite was made by using hot press method. In order to investigate bonding condition between TiNi reinforcement and Al matrix, the micro-structure of interface was observed by using optical microscope and diffusion layer of interface was measured by using Electron Probe Micro Analyser. And the mechanical properties of composite with three parameters(volume fraction of fiber, cold rolling amount and test temperature) were obtained by tensile test. The most optimum bonding condition for fabrication the TiNi/Al2024 composite material was obtained as holding for 30min. under the pressure of 60MPa at 793K. The strength of composite material increased considerably with the volume fraction of fiber up to 7.0%. And the tensile strength of this composite increased with the reduction ratio and it also depends on the volume fraction of fiber.

  • The demand increasing of optical applications like as display devices derives interest for fabrication process. The product s development is apt to fabricate numerous thin and wide surfaces with micro pattern. Naturally that needs injection molding fabrication for the mass production. In existing manufacturing, the product quality is controlled by input fabrication condition from the outside. That can be called as a try and error method and not fundamentally solve the troubles; imperfect replication, war page, short shot, etc. To understand the cause and bring a solution, it is needed that check of changing in the cavity. This study can catch them. Data acquisition system about temperature and pressure distribution is settled and can get some data. From this research, other studies related with DAQ in cavity can start on the easier step.

  • The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by pressureless infiltration was investigated by the change of Mg and Si content in Al alloy infiltration process and infiltration atmosphere. The effect of alloying elements infiltration atmosphere and interfacial reactants between Al alloy matrix and Al2O3 particles were in-vestigated in terms of bendingstrength and harness test,. The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by the vestigated in terms of bending strength and hardness test. The fabrication of Al2O3/Al composite by the pressureless infiltration was done in nitrogen atmosphere with Mg in Al alloy. It was successfully fabricated at $700^{\circ}C$ according to Mg contents in Al alloy and infiltration condition. Because Mg in the Al alloy and ni-trogen atmosphere of infiltratio condition produced Mg-N compound(Mg3N2) it decreased the wetting an-gle between molten Al alloy and Al2O3 particles by coating on surface of Al2O3 particles. The fracture strength of Al2O3/Al-Mg composite was 800MPa and Al2O3/Al-Si-Mg composite was 400MPa. Si in Al alloy decreased the interfacial strength between Al alloy matrix and Al2O3 particles.

  • To develop a stable and compact small-sized superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system, which provides electric power with high quality to sensitive electric loads, we fabricated a SMES coil and tested it. Because such a large-sized superconducting coil quenches far away from its critical current, the recovery current is frequently used as a stability criterion in the coil fabrication. Therefore, we first investigated the recovery current characteristics of the large current conductor, which was used in our SMES coil fabrication. The test results indicate that the recovery currents measured in the conductor are nearly identical to those based on the single wire. This implies that the recovery current is affected by the conductor's cooling condition rather than its size and current capacity. In the SMES coil test the first quench occurred at 1250 A, which is equivalent to the stored energy of about 2 MJ. It corresponds to the quench current density of about $130A/mm^2$ This value is much higher in comparison with that reported in the other work. In addition, the first quench current of the coil agrees well with the measured recovery current of the conductor having similar cooling condition with it. This means that to determine the recovery current of a conductor is, first of all, important in the design and fabrication of a large-sized superconducting coil.
