The purpose of this study is to analyze the various types and areas of recent collaborations in fashion industry and to find the utility value of collaboration. Seventy seven cases of fashion collaboration marketing strategies were selected from officially announced literature survey and enterprises information around the world. Among the seventy seven cases of fashion collaboration surveyed in this study, collaboration with other fields made up 59.7 percent, collaboration between the same fashion categories made up 40.3 percent. Among the areas of other fields, collaboration with IT(Information Technology) or Motor enterprises were included and made up 36.4 percent. Collaborations with Culture and art world that fashion brands collaborate with world-renowned industrial designer or artist and star entertainers were also included and made up 23.3 percent. Among the areas of the same categories, collaboration of fashion designer and sports or casual brand made up 22.1 percent. Collaborations of home shopping mall and fashion designer made up 18.2 percent. Collaboration cases surveyed in this study were classified according to three types; co-product development, co-branding, and co-marketing. Collaboration for co-product development made up 72.7 percent. Collaboration for co-branding made up 27.3 percent. Collaboration for co-marketing made up 37.7 percent. These collaboration marketing strategies are very efficient to upgrade brand image and cut the marketing cost by creating new target, product, brand, and promotion through successful partnerships. Therefore, much more various types and areas of fashion collaborations should be developed to create something new for future consumers.

In the fashion enterprises of today, there are many kinds of inter-enterprises' collaborations which are related to the strategic management for reinforcing their competitiveness in various fields. These inter-enterprises' collaborations, which began to increase in the year 2000, will increase even more in the near future. The study investigated the differences of collaboration motive types in collaboration areas, trust/devotion, performance and satisfactions of collaborations, and characteristics of collaborated companies and their partners. A questionnaire was administered to 194 key employees of the fashion enterprises in Korea and the analysis was performed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANOVA, and $X^2$ test. The results showed that the collaboration motive had four factors: economic efficiency, business expansion, product planning improvement, and brand competitiveness increase. The cluster analysis showed that there were four collaboration motive types: brand competitiveness type, economic efficiency type, product planning type, and passive collaboration type. There were significant differences among the collaboration motive types in regard to collaboration areas, trust/devotion, and the performance/satisfactions of collaboration, and characteristics of companies. The brand competitiveness motive type tended to choose the marketing and brand collaboration areas, had a higher trust, and had higher scores on the performance and satisfactions of collaboration than did the other types.
This study analyzed consumers' awareness, preference levels, and effect expectations in relation to fashion art marketing according to the types of such marketing (collaboration between fashion and art in fashion products, called product collaboration; sponsorship for art foundation; artist sponsorship; collaboration for the design of a space/store/display; ad/promotional film collaboration). The study also investigated the influence of consumers' attitudes toward fashion art marketing with respect to purchase intention. The study was implemented through a descriptive survey method. The sample consisted of 342 men and women between the ages of 20 and 45. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that there are significant differences in consumers' awareness and effect expectations in relation to fashion art marketing according to the types of fashion art marketing activities. While no differences were found in preference levels according to the type of fashion art marketing, all the types of art marketing showed overall high levels of preference. The collaboration between fashion and art in fashion products, which had the highest awareness, also showed the highest expected effect. In all the types of fashion art marketing, consumers' attitudes had a significant influence on purchase intention. In cases of sponsorship for an art foundation, artist sponsorship, collaboration for the design of a space/store/display, and ad/promotional films, consumers' effect expectations had the most significant influence on purchase intention, followed by preference and awareness level. These results could be used to provide appropriate proposals to fashion brands when they plan to set up an art marketing strategy.
This study was intended to suggest overseas expansion strategy of Korean fashion character through sensitive space creation. This study reviewed literature, and did internet searching and observation. For the research methods were the analysis of the main retail spaces utilizing character and case study for the classification of collaboration types between retail space and character. As a results, 8 collaboration types between space and character were extracted: collaboration between retail distribution space and character, collaboration between product space and character, collaboration between service space and character, collaboration between experience space and character, collaboration between moving space and character, collaboration between publicity & advertising space and character, and collaboration between exhibition space and character. This study suggested the necessity of consistent identity strategy between character and retail space for a new character brand and the effectiveness of collaboration strategy for enhancement of character brand awareness.
This study examined the types and changes of collaboration in the domestic fashion industry by means of analyzing media articles or advertisement of collaboration in the domestic fashion industry that were published in Vogue and Fashion Biz between 2000 and 2011. The total number of collaboration articles and advertisements was 269, including 55 from Vogue and 214 from Fashion Biz. The data analysis was made using frequency, percentages, and the (chi-square) test. The results concerning fashion collaborations between 2000 and 2011 are as follows: First, when looking at the collaborations from 2000 to 2003, it showed that majority of collaborations during this period was done between apparel companies and individual designers. However, from 2004 to 2011, there was a increase in the number of collaborations between apparel companies and celebrities. Second, collaborations from 2000 to 2003 focused mainly on women's wear and innerwear. But, from 2004 to 2011, collaborations for casual wear has increased. And it should be noted that a rapid increase in collaborations have been observed for collaborations in sportswear and men's wear from 2004 to 2011.

This study examines the effects of collaboration type and brand sensitivity on consumer responses toward fashion collaboration brands. For this study, six brands of fashion collaboration were selected by collaboration types: collaboration with same industry (Uniqlo-Jill Sander, H&M-Sonia Rykiel, and Levis-Jean Paul Gaultier) and collaboration with different industries (LG-Prada, Samsung-Armani, and LG-Levis). A selfadministered questionnaire was developed based on the literature that mainly included brand sensitivity, consumer response (brand association, brand values, and purchase intention), and marketing strategic elements in the context of fashion collaboration. For collecting the data, respondents were asked to choose and assess a previously purchased brand. A total of 299 usable data responses were obtained from Korean consumers aged from 15 to 40 years old. The consumer response toward the fashion collaboration brand consisted of four factors: Emotional value, perceived quality, symbolic value, and brand association. The results showed that the collaboration type had the main effect on emotional value, symbolic value, and purchase intention. Brand sensitivity had the main effect on brand association, emotional value, symbolic value, and purchase intention. There was also an interaction effect on emotional value. With respect to strategic marketing elements, product differentiation, premium pricing, and value pricing had partially positive effect on consumer responses; however, promotion had a negative effect on consumer responses (e.g., perceived quality, and emotional value). In addition, collaboration type or brand sensitivity moderated the effect of strategic marketing elements on consumer responses. This study discussed a managerial implication to develop a strategic brand alliance to manage brand equity in the fashion marketplace.
The purpose of this study is to examine and categorize the cases of luxury fashion brands and art collaboration and find out their effects. The research method examined the theoretical background of luxury fashion brand and art collaboration and proceeded with content analysis through major cases. The research results were classified into the following two types through case analysis. The first is art collaboration for product design, and the second type is art collaboration for exhibition works. Content analysis according to type was organized from the perspective of brands and artists, respectively, and the resulting collaboration effect was finally derived. The main effects are the integration of design and art, diversification of social and cultural backgrounds, and innovative vision of expression. This study is meaningful in examining the expanded design methods and effects of luxury fashion brands through grafting artworks and presenting basic data for future fashion art collaboration design research.
The fourth Industrial Revolution, known as digital transformation, has made MZ generation to be the focus of the new consumer market, brought about the use of technological platforms a new consumption method. Currently, as various types of content collaboration are emerging that specifically targeting at the MZ generation. Content collaboration are considered an integration of content to create new values through co-existence and co-prosperity. This study identified the characteristics of collaboration of fashion brands from 2018 using literature and online news articles, and identified and classified through case studies of it determined movie content, game and virtual characters. By this research, it shown that collaboration with movie contents have increased the collaborative synergy by using the story in global media content. Collaboration with mobile games was generally used by young casual and sportswear brands. These brands which utilized characters from mobile games popular with to attract more teen consumers and strengthen brand awareness by adding values of high-technology and scarcity to the familiar images. In addition, collaboration with virtual characters has expanded value of the collaborative approach on expanding the range of advanced digital technology, from a promotional strategy during the distribution process through to the use of virtual models. As such, collaboration using the various types of content has developed beyond simple integration of identities among various areas, integrated products or brands that as a new value.
In current society, products and services are positioned to match customers' lifestyles and emotions. One example of such can be collaboration strategies. Various types of collaboration can be found and should be applied to academic research in terms of fashion designing as well as in marketing. As a result, this research focuses on defining collaboration and identifying its different forms. Case studies are provided for each form of collaboration. A set of emotional factors required for collaboration and a domestic fashion brand is selected in order to carry out analysis and design production. As a result of this study, the following conclusions were reached. First, collaboration can be defined as two or more companies, brands or even individuals working together for an agreed period of time by sharing core competencies and advantages in order to pursuit profit and value creation. Second, collaboration types can be specified into two categories which are collaboration between companies within the fashion industry and collaborations with companies outside the fashion industry. In addition, companies may collaborate with the purpose of enhancing value, broadening its areas of business and to execute an event. Third, according to the case studies examined, effects of collaboration can be upgrade of brand images, variety of promotional benefits and increase in sales. Fourth, the selections of collaboration targets were made. MOGG and Sex&the City were chosen in order to apply collaboration strategies in line with promoting the domestic womens' wear market. Fifth, by considering and applying all the findings from the research, the limited edition line was produced under the design concept of 'Sex and the City with MOGG'.
The present study observes collaboration methods in which 3D printing was a part of the fashion manufacturing process, expression methods of such cases, and their ripple effects. As a result, the three types of collaborations between fashion designers and other industry fields, fashion brands and 3D printing companies, and fashion designers and artists. Case analysis results and ripple effects found according to each collaboration method were as follows. First, in collaborations found were between fashion designers and other industry fields, 3D printed fashion works with futuristic images were seen through the fusion of future industries, which claim to support cutting edge digital technology, and creative fashion design. While they emphasize practicality by mainly using flexible material, they were mainly proposed as functional sporting goods for famous players or as shoe accessories, so methods are still used for public distribution as brand promoting marketing strategies. Third, with collaborations between fashion designers and artists, creative pieces were shown through the grafting of 3D printing technology, the artistry of artists, and the experimentation of fashion designers. In particular, the innovative value of fashion as art was created through the union of the artistic 3D modeling technology support of artists and the creativity of designers. Like this, 3D printing fashion can graft the cutting edge nature of fashion to other industry fields through collaborations, enhancing pacesetting images, and in the fashion field, it can improve possibilities for innovations in the fashion industry through the support of 3D printing technology businesses and artists, raising expectations towards future human living.
