FRP의 원통형 압력 용기제작을 위한 필라멘트 밴드의 감김 시뮬레이션 (Filament Band Winding Simulation for Fiber Reinforced Cylindrical Pressure Vessels)

  • The filament winding method is widely used to manufacture products of fiber reinforced plastics (FRP), such as high pressure vessels, launch tubes and pipes. For reducing winding time, the method of winding by filament band which consists of several filament fibers is used. NC winding machine is used for precise winding and NC path is needed. Before filament winding, users should verify that winding path which presented by a line is appropriate by filament winding simulation. Also, the used length of each filament is different. So, if the peak filament exhausted, it causes to stop manufacturing. In this research, we developed software which visualizes 3D graphic of filament band winding path and simulates winding process on real time. And we proposed algorithm about calculation of each filament usage. We use geodesic equation for generating filament band surface and calculating the usage length of each filament.

  • Recently, composite hollow bushings have been increasingly employed mainly from the various characteristics. Composite bushings are superior to porcelain bushings in several respects, including lighter weight, better anti-pollution and anti-explosion properties, and easer manufacturing. Filament wound GRP tubes which have various winding angle were manufactured by using a filament winding machine. This paper will show some design issues and winding condition for composite bushing. And, results show that the winding condition of composite GRP tubes can be used to improved their bending strength and pressure, For bending and pressure tested, tubes with the hybrid winding pattern show higher strength than those of unit winding pattern. Also, the influence of absorption was evaluated through such as measurement of the dye penetration test and water diffusion test, also aspects of surface state using scanning electron microscopy.

  • 복합재료의 성형 공정 중 하나인 Filament Winding 공정에 열가소성 기지재료인 폴리프로필렌(Polypropylene)과 강화섬유인 유리섬유로 이루어진 Commingled Yarn 을 이용한 연구를 수행하였다. 함침 과정을 해석하기 위한 계산모델을 제시하였다. 그리고 위의 모델링을 해석하는 데 필요한 복합재료 내의 온도 분포를 수치해석을 통해 계산하였고 실험을 통해 이를 검증하였다. 온도계산 결과를 함침도 예측에 이용하였다. 모델링을 통해 Filament Winding 공정의 주요 공정 변수를 찾아내었고 제시한 모델을 검증하기 위해 직접 Filament Winding 실험 장치를 제작하여 제품을 생산하고 모델과 비교하였다. 제작된 시편으로부터 함침도를 계산하는 방법을 제시하였다. 그 결과 함침도에 관해서 실험 결과가 모델과 그 경향이 뚜렷이 일치함을 확인하였다.

Robotized Filament Winding of Full Section Parts: Comparison Between Two Winding Trajectory Planning Rules

  • Robotized filament winding technology involves a robot that winds a roving impregnated by resin on a die along the directions of stresses to which the work-piece is submitted in applications. The robot moves a deposition head along a winding trajectory in order to deposit roving. The trajectory planning is a very critical aspect of robotized filament winding technology, since it is responsible for both the tension constancy and the winding time. The present work shows two original rules to plan the winding trajectory of structural parts, whose shape is obtained by sweeping a full section around a 3D curve that must be closed and not crossing in order to assure a continuous winding. The first rule plans the winding trajectory by approximating the part 3D shape with straight lines; it is called the discretized rule. The second rule defines the winding trajectory simply by offsetting a 3D curve that reproduces the part 3D shape, of a defined distance; it is called the offset rule. The two rules have been compared in terms of roving tension and winding time. The present work shows how the offset rule enables achievement of both the required aims: to manufacture parts of high structural performances by keeping the tension on the roving near to the nominal value and to markedly decrease the winding time. This is the first step towards the optimization of the robotized filament winding technology.

실험계획법을 이용한 필라멘트 와인딩 공정변수에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Processing Parameters of Filament Winding with Design of Experiment)

  • Processing parameters of filament winding were investigated by using design of experiment. To understand 4 main effects(fiber tension, impregnation pressure, processing rate, and temperature) and 3 interactions, $L_{27}(3^{13})$ orthogonal array table was adopted. The used materials were carbon fiber and epoxy resin. Split disk test and short-beam test, which are the general test methods for filament wound composite material, were selected as evaluation methods for a filament would part. The optimal processing parameters for the filament winding were easily found through the analysis of variance of the experimental results.

  • Polyester Filament Flat Yam의 경우 현재 Dope Dyed Yarn을 주로 사용하고 있지만 색상발현의 한계성으로 오랫동안 일반염색을 위해 연구하였지만 해결하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. Polyester Filament Flat Yarn의 선염이 어려운 이유는 Winding에서 치밀한 사층구조로 염료가 침투할 수 없이 치밀하게 되어 있기 때문이다. 특히 사의 이러한 치밀한 사층구조 때문에 염액침투가 어렵고, Soft Winding을 하면 미끄러짐 현상으로 사층의 붕괴가 일어나기 쉽고, Pirn Winding의 경우는 사층의 안전한 유지는 가능하지만 사층의 밀도가 높아서 염액의 순환이 순조롭지 못한 단점이 있다. 필라멘트와인딩 복합재의 기계적 특성과 와인딩시 공정변수와의 관계에 대한 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Investigation on Relationship of Winding Process Variables and Mechanical Properties for Filament Wound Composites)

  • 본 연구에서는 와인딩시 공정조건의 변화가 필라멘트와인딩 복합재의 기계적 특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 와인딩시의 공정변수로는 섬유장력과 섬유엔드수를 고려하였다. 고려한 시편은 필라멘트와인딩 공법으로 제작된 링 시편으로 강화섬유는 TZ-507 탄소섬유와 IZ-40 탄소섬유를 사용하고 수지는 필라멘트와인딩용 에폭시를 사용하였다. 와인딩시 섬유장력은 0.5kgf에서 3.0kgf의 범위에서 변화시켰으며 섬유엔드수는 1엔드에서 6엔드의 범위에 서 변화시켰다. 와인딩시 섬유장력과 섬유엔드수를 변화시킨 링 시편의 섬유체적비와 기공함유율은 황산용해법을 적용하여 측정하였으며 이들 링 시편의 기계적 특성은 스프릿 디스크 시험을 통해 평가하였다. 본 연구의 수행을 통해 얻어진 결과들로 판단하면 와인딩시 섬유 장력과 섬유엔드수는 필라멘트와인딩 복합재의 섬유체적비와 기공함유율을 변화시킬 뿐 아니라 필라멘트 와인딩 복합재의 기계적 특성에도 밀접한 영향을 미친다. 따라서 필라멘트와인딩 복합재의 구조성능을 극대화하고 생산성을 향상시키기 위해서는 최적의 필라멘트 와인딩 공정조건이 적용되어야 한다.

퍼지-PID 알고리즘을 이용한 필라멘트 와인딩 장력제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Filament Winding Tension Control using a fuzzy-PID Algorithm)

  • This thesis develops a fuzzy-PID control algorithm for control the filament winding tension. It is developed by applying classical PID control technique to a fuzzy logic controller. It is composed of a fuzzy-PI controller and a fuzzy-D controller. The fuzzy-PI controller uses error and integrated error as inputs, and the fuzzy-D controller uses derivative of error as input. The fuzzy-PI controller uses Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy inference system, and the fuzzy-D controller uses Mamdani fuzzy inference system. The fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-PI controller is designed using 19 rules, and the fuzzy rule base for the fuzzy-D controller is designed using 5 rules. A test-bed is set-up for verifying the effectiveness of the developing control algorithm in control the filament winding tension. It is composed of a mandrel, a carriage, a force sensor, a driving roller, nip rollers, a creel, and a real-time control system. Nip rollers apply a vertical force to a filament, and the driving roller drives it. The real-time control system is developed by using MATLAB/xPC Target. First, experiments for showing the inherent problems of an open-loop control scheme in a filament winding are performed. Then, experiments for showing the robustness of the developing fuzzy-PID control algorithm are performed under various working conditions occurring in a filament winding such as mandrel rotating speed change, carriage traversing, spool radius change, and reference input change.

필라멘트 와인딩과 인발성헝 제작 복합소재 교량 바닥판의 휨 특성 비교분석 (Comparative Study on the Flexural Characteristics of Composite Bridge Deck Fabricated with Filament Winding and Pultrusion)

  • 본 논문에서는 유리섬유 복합소재 교랑 바닥판 개발에 필요한 기초 자료를 마련하기 위하여, 필라멘트 와인딩공정과 인발성형공정으로 제작된 복합소재 교량 바닥판에 대해 휨시험과 구조해석을 실시하여, 휨특성을 비교$\cdot$분석하였다. 필라멘트 와인딩으로 제작된 삼각형 형상의 복합소재 교량 바닥판의 성능을 비교하기 위하여, 미국 MMC사의 Duraspan 바닥판과 동일한 크기의 바닥판 시험체를 필라멘트 와인딩으로 제작하여 휨시험을 실시하고 최대 파괴하중과 처짐, 변형률을 비교하였으며, 필라멘트 와인딩 바닥판 시험체와 동일한 바닥판 모델에 대해 구조해석을 실시하여 시험한 결과와 비교하였다.

  • Filament Winding Process is a comparatively simple operation in which continuous reinforcements in the form of roving are wound over a rotating mandrel. And now well established as a versatile method for storage tanks and pipe for the chemical and other industries . In this study, tensile strength of a filament wound ring specimens were evaluated by split disk test fixture and dress disk test fixture , The results obtained from experiments were compared with the theoretical values obtained by the rule of mixtures. And the purpose of this paper is the suggestion of an appropriate test method for the evaluation of tensile properties of filament wound structures .The tensile strength of a ring specimen tested by the dress disk test showed better agreement with the theoretical values than of a ring specimen tested by the split disk test because the stress concentration in edges of a split disk test fixture is more severe than that of dress disk test fixture. The results showed that the tensile strength of a ring specimen was influenced by the geometry of test fixture, the continuity of fibers, fiber-tension, fiber-end and stress concentration in specimen.
