In this study, the coefficient of permeability for cement mixtures including the powdered sludge of basalt, sand or fly ash with different mixed ratios was measured in order to reuse the powdered sludge of basalt in Jeju Island as the cut off materials. As the permeability test results, the coefficient of permeability for the cement mixtures with fly ash was increased with increasing the fly ash contents. The amount of fly ash in the cement mixtures should be mixed with less than 8 %. Meanwhile, the coefficient of permeability for the cement mixtures with sand was increased with increasing the sand contents. The amount of sand in the cement mixtures should be mixed with less than 40 %. According to the comparison result of cement mixtures including fly ash or sand, it is more advantageous to put the sand into the cement mixtures, rather than mixing the fly ash.

For the machining of freeform surface, fly cutting is one of the key technology to meet profile accuracy and surface roughness simultaneously. Fly cutting can be applied to manufacturing of optical components with complex profile. In this study aluminum alloy was machined in the process of ultra precision fly cutting and investigated optimum machining conditions in terms of feed-rate, pitch per cycle and depth of cut.
The cut is placed high up in the section, the 1st sloping holes below the cut, and divided all the holes located below the 1st sloping holes into a certain area with longitudinal section, to lower pollution made from tunnel blasting. With the sequential blasting machine, after I first blasted holes around the cut holes by a pre-splitting method, blasted the cut area and the 1st sloping holes. The 1st and 2nd sloping holes divided areas are initiated gradually to free face upwards made by the cut. Especially, I pre-splinted contour holes previous blast the before sloping holes from the contours. The ground vibration from the earth surface just over the advance face decreased about 42.0% compare with the down blasting method under the condition of equal charge weight per delay. I controlled the crack and over break of the mother rock by pre-splitting contour holes before blast the first sloping holes from the contours. The peak values of noise and air blast by blasting decreased about 10dB more than the down blasting method. the noise and air blast diminished gradually as a round. The throw distance of the fly rock was decreased about 55%.
The cylindrical cut is most frequently used in tunnel blast regardless of their dimensions. In this study the new parallel cut is proposed to raise advance per round, which is considered to be an elevation of the traditional cylinder cuts. The general geometric pattern of a new cut with parallel blast holes is proposed. The detailed burden and spacing between the central blasthole and those of the four section are also given. The blast results between new cut and traditional cylinder cut are given. The main results of this study are as follows. 1) The average advances per rounds in new cuts can reach 99.5% of drilling length. That of traditional cylinder cuts are known approximately 90∼95% 2) Specific charge weight of new cut compare to that of cylinder cut is approximately reduced 5% from 1.363 to 1.297 kg/㎥ 3) Specific drilling rate is also reduced 8% from 2.393 to 2.130 m/㎥ 4) Vibrations, fly rock, and fragmentation produced by the new blast are to be proved superior to those of the traditional cylinder cuts.
For the recycle of coal fly ash generated from power stations, we developed an electrocyclone system which can separate unburned carbon form coal fly ash, based on the fact that coarse fly ash particles contain higher amount of unburned carbon and unburned carbon particles are charged positively, and pure ash particles are charged negatively on contacting each other. Additionally, guide vanes were installed in the cyclone to control the cut size. Two types of electrode, stick and grid type, were designed to investigate the effect of electrode type. Results show that by introducing an electric field inside the cyclone, the yield increases by 5 to 15e1o. But the content of unburned carbon in the clean ash does not change significantly.

As high technology industries such as IT and display have developed, demand for application parts of micro lens and lens array has been extremely increasing. According to these trends, many researchers are studying on the fabrication technology for parts of the micro lens by a variety of methods such as MEMS, Lithography, LIGA and so on. In this paper, we have performed researches related to ultra precision micro lens, lens array mold and fabrication of Lenticular lens mold for three-dimensional display by using mechanical micro end-milling and fly-cutting fabrication method. Tools used in this research were a diamond tool of R 150$\mu\textrm{m}$. Cutting conditions set up feed rate, spindle revolution. depth of cut and dwell time as variables. And we analyzed surface quality variation of the processed products according to the cutting conditions, and then carried out experiments to search the optimum conditions. Through this research, we have confirmed that we can fabricate the ultra precision micro lens mold with surface roughness Ra=20nm and the holographic lens mold by using micro end-milling and fly-cutting fabrication method. Furthermore, we demonstrated problems happened in the fabrication of the micro lens and established the foundation of experimental study for formulating its improvement plan.
The influence of basalt fibres on the compressive strength of the geopolymer type binders has been studied. For the experiments 2 types of the basalt fibres were used, namely chopped and spooled fibres. Both types of basalt fibres were 7-10 micron thick in diameter and cut into pieces of 6 mm length. The fibres were mixed with 1% weight to the fly ash powder, followed by the addition of the activator solution (8M NaOH). The pastes obtained were cured at $70^{\circ}C$ for 20 h revealing compact bodies. Compressive strength was measured after 7 days and microstructure observation performed with SEM. The cube bodies ($2{\times}2{\times}2cm$) reveal compressive strength of 47.25(4.03) MPa, while it decreased to 34.0(9.05) MPa in spooled basalt fibres and to 17.33(5.86) MPa in the chopped basalt fibres containing binder, i.e 76% and 36% of the strength without fibres, respectively. The much weaker compressive strength of the chopped fibres containing binder is related to the absence of significant adhesion between the geopolymer binder and the basalt fibres, forming voids instead. Alkali leaching effect of basalt fibres could probably explain the drop in the compressive strength with spooled and chopped fibres, respectively.
The feasibility of fly ash was evaluated as an alternative liner material to the conventional clay liner of landfills through modeling and laboratory experiments. In order to consider the effect of unsaturation on water flow through the liner, analyses were made to compare flow characteristics in saturated liner with that of unsaturated one. Contaminant migration characteristics in liners were investigated by batch experiment and modeling, in which phenol was employed as a model was solved by numerical techniques of finite difference method and predictor-corrector method to deal with high non-linearity. Sequential method was used to handle the system of differential equations. Results show that the alternative liner material is more capable of cutting off water flow in unsaturated condition and in preventing phenol from passing through it. It can be seen that, under the flow conditions considered in this study, the conventional saturation approach underestimates the amount of water passing through the liner and doers the cut-off capability against phenol significantly.
Cut-off methods of controlling leachate migration from waste landfills and contaminated sites are studied. Permeability and chemical compatibility tests are prrforlned on slurry wall materials including soil-bentonite, cement-bentonite, cement / fly ash-bentonite, plastic concrete. Hydraulic conductivity of soil-bentonite mixture is the lowest of these four bacuill materials. The leachate from municipal solid waste has little influence on the permeability of the backfill materials. The bentonite slurry becomes flocculated and aggregated when exposed to the leachate. The results of the permeability test showed that the hydraulic conductivities of the backfill materials are in the order soil-beiltonite, Plastic concrete, cement-bentonite. And the result c: the compatibility test showed increase in permeability due to the effects of leachate. Thus, in designing the slurry wall it is essential to check the behaviour of the bentonite slurry and backfill materials on the compatibility with the contaminants.
Buddhist temples and halls signify paradise on earth. Buddhist sutras refer to paradise as a place where flowers fall down like snow, fragrance and music fill the air, flowers blossom and butterflies fly. The Kkot Mun of Buddhist temples are an essential part of the creation of this paradise and are ornamented with elaborate sculptures of flowers and animals. The ornamentation of the Kkot Mun is truly admirable for its artistry and beauty. Although the Kkot Mun is an element of Korean traditional Buddhist architecture, it could also be applied to costume work. I thought the characteristic elements of the Kkot Mun for the costume work were the flower, the lattice and the transparent effect that was made with the lattice and Dagjongee. I used the technique of strap cutting, strap twisting and cut-out for the lattice of Kkot Mun and flower making, knitting, cut-out and quilting for the flower of Kkot Mun. I represented the transparent effect of Kkot Mun with the lapped materials. I selected six remarkable Kkot Mun of Korean temples, revised shapes of these and made six costume works. These six costume works would be the suggestion of costume design if an element of Korean traditional architecture was applied to modern costume making.
