  • Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate relationship between perceived stress level, cognitive emotion regulation (CER) strategy and hope in group with high depressive symptom and higher-level perceived stress (H-H) and group with high depressive symptom and lower-level perceived stress (H-L) in patients with depression. Method : A total of 85 patients (over score of 16 by Beck depression Inventory; BDI) were surveyed with Cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (CERQ), Perceived stress scale (PSS), and The state hope scale (SHS). Mean scores of CERQ and SHS were compared between relatively higher perceived stress and lower perceived stress groups. Correlation analysis and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to identify the effect of BDI, PSS and CER strategy on SHS in two groups. Results : In ANOVA, the level of hope and maladaptive CERQ score proved to be significantly lower among the H-H group than among the H-L group, while adaptive CERQ scores were not. In Regression analysis, the effective CER strategy in SHS were 'Refocus on planning' in H-H group, while it was 'Acceptance' CER strategy in H-L group. The final regression model explained 36% of the variance of SHS in H-H group and explained 21% of SHS in H-L group. Conclusion : These findings suggest that 'Refocus on planning' and 'Acceptance' cognitive emotion strategy are helpful in promotion of state hope on depression. Especially, 'Refocus on planning' strategy is more effective in high depressive symptom and high-perceived stress level, while 'Acceptance' strategy help to promote hope in high depressive symptom and low-perceived stress level in patients with depression.

  • This study is to investigate the color emotion associations of the color vision defectives, considering that the colors do have an effect on human emotional conditions. To realize this investigation, firstly we selected 100 normal persons (group C)and other 34 color vision defectives(group A), dividing the last group into two small groups as protanomaly group(group P) with 8 persons and deuteranomaly group(group D) with 16 persons. All participants have been offered to select one color from ten colors for each of three positive emotions such as 'favorite', 'happy' and 'friendly' and of three negative emotions like 'sad', 'disliked' and 'awkward'. And they selected another one color for each active and passive emotions. For 'favorite color' the group C selected 'blue' and 'red' while the group A chose 'blue'. For 'happy color' the two groups selected 'yellow'. For 'friendly color' the group C chose 'green', but the group A selected 'blue'. For 'sad color' the group C preferred 'blue', but the group A chose 'purple'. For 'disliked color' all groups selected 'bluish green'. For 'awkward color' the two groups preferred 'bluish green'. For 'active color' all groups selected 'red'. And for 'passive color' the group C chose 'bluish green', but the group A selected 'blue'. Depending on the type of color vision deficiency(group P and group D) some more differences were revealed relatively. These results should be applied to develop some intelligent color conversion technology for enhancing the usability of culture contents for color vision defectives.

The survey was administered to 419 college women in Honam area from March 9th to April 30th, 2015. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. The depression was negatively correlated with positive emotion and it was positively correlated with negative emotion and job seeking stress. The results of hierarchical multiple regression analysis show the following. The depression of respondents turned out to be significantly higher in following groups: a group in which self esteem is lower, a group in which subjective happiness is lower, a group in which hopelessness is higher, a group in which type A behavior pattern is higher, a group in which personality stress is higher. Their explanatory power was 47.1%. With the analysis of covariance structure, we could confirm relationship among the four factors such as positive emotion, negative emotion, job seeking stress and depression. In conclusion, the results of the study indicate that the efforts, to increase positive emotion, and to decrease negative emotion and job seeking stress, are required to reduce the depression level of the college women of health affiliated educations.
