Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of herbal medicine during the Western medicine therapy in adenomyosis. Methods: The author searched 5 electronic databases and search keywords were 'Adenomyosis' and 'Herbal Medicine'. We included randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) using herbal medicine therapy combined Western medicine for adenomyosis patients. Results: The author selected 12 studies. The systematic review of the 12 trials indicated that herbal medicine therapy integrated Western medicine therapy was more effective than Western medicine therapy alone. Conclusions: The herbal medicine therapy combined Western medicine for adenomyosis patients seems to improve pain relief and improvement of illness from this research. However, this result should be taken cautiously by unclear risk of bias. More clinical research will be needed to standardize the results of this study through herbal medicine.

Objectives : This study was to performed to investigate the effect of herbal steam therapy on acne vulgaris. Methods : 6 patients with acne vulgaris were treated with korean medicine therapy (herbal medicine and acupunture) including herbal steam therapy. We evaluated the effect by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS) and Pictures. Results : After treatment, the KAGS Grade of all patients treated with korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is 1. Based on this, we could find that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy is effective and available to ameliorate for the symptoms of acne vulgaris. Conclusions : This clinical cases study shows us that korean medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of acne vulgaris. Further studies will be needed to identify herbal steam therapy is beneficial to acne vulgaris.

Objectives : This study was performed to investigate the effect of herbal steam therapy on peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : 55 patients with peripheral facial paralysis were treated with Korean Medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy. We evaluated the effect of Korean Medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy by Yanagihara grading system. Results : 1. 55 patients were treated with Korean Medicine therapy and 23.27±14.11 times of herbal steam therapy. 2. After treatment, Y-system score was significantly increased(p-value＜0.001) from 18.00±6.5514 to 35.00±6.3404. Conclusions : Herbal stream therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of peripheral facial paralysis. Further studies will be needed to identify the beneficial of herbal steam therapy on peripheral facial paralysis.

Objective : This study was performed to investigate the effect of herbal steam therapy on peripheral facial paralysis. Method : 33 patients with peripheral facial paralysis were treated with Korean Medicine therapy including herbal steam therapy. We evaluated the effect of herbal steam therapy by Yanagihara grading system and satisfaction measurement. Results : 1. 33 patients were treated with korean medicine therapy and $27.85{\pm}16.44$ times of herbal steam therapy. 2. After treatment, Y-system score was significantly increased(p-value<0.001) from $18.45{\pm}6.5196$ to $35.42{\pm}5.2501$. 3. 87.88% of patients was satisfied with herbal steam therapy. Conclusions : Herbal stream therapy seem to be effective to improve symptoms of peripheral facial paralysis. Further studies will be needed to identify the beneficial of herbal steam therapy on peripheral facial paralysis.

Objectives: The Purpose of this study was to evidence the effect of Herbal Bigiheo Acupuncture therapy by comparing waist-hip ratio, abdominal circumference and abdominal muscle circumference of Group B(group of Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) with Group A(group of non-Herbal acupuncture therapy and general obesity treatment) in forty two patients who have received OPD treatment at Sang Ji oriental medical hospital and chiefly diagnosed obesity from October 2003 to September 2004. Methods: We checked the change of Obesity degree with Inbody 3.0. Results and Conclusions: Herbal acupuncture therapy group was significantly decreased in waist-hip ratio and abdominal circumference, and we have no difference of abdominal muscle circumference each groups. According to the above results, it is considered that Bigiheo Herbal Acupuncture therapy showed a significant decrease in Abdominal Obesity.

Objectives : This report was performed to evaluated the treatment of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion in herniation of inter-vertebral disc. Methods : We treated 1 case of herniation of inter-vertebral disc with Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion. Results : After 12 days of Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion, a remarkable improvement was made for herniation of inter-vertebral disc. The patient couldn't feel pain on walking. Conclusion : Bee venom acupuncture Therapy, acupuncture Therapy, Herbal medicaion and Moxibustion were effective in reducing the symptoms.

Object : The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Hwangryunhaedok-tang herbal-acupuncture therapy for Agitation(Byun-jo) caused by cerebral infarction. Methods : One patient was admitted who was suffering from insomnia, chest discomfort, anxiety, palpitation of Agitation(Byun-jo), after cerebral infarction. In the point of Differentiation of Syndromes(辨證), we diagnosed this patient as Excessive heat-fire syndrome of stroke(中風火熱證) and treated with Hwangryunhaedok-tang herbal-acupuncture therapy at CV17, BL15, GB20. Results : After Hwangryunhaedok-tang herbal-acupuncture therapy, symtoms of Agitation(Byun-jo) were improved remarkably, and the score of State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI) were decreased. Conclusions : Hwangryunhaedok-tang herbal-acupuncture therapy has meaningful effect on the symptoms of Agitation(Byun-jo) caused by cerebral infarction and more researches should be followed.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the improvement after Sweet BV herbal acupuncture therapy of shoulder impingement syndrome with Subacromial bursitis. Methods : We treated a patient having shoulder pain due to shoulder impingement syndrome with Sweet BV herbal acupuncture therapy. We checked visual analogue scale (VAS) score and range of movement (ROM). Results : We treated shoulder pain. Thereafter ROM improved and VAS score dropped to the level 3 points from 10 points at onset. Conclusions : This report shows Sweet BV herbal acupuncture therapy has effectiveness on shoulder impingement syndrome with Subacromial bursitis.

Objectives This study is to suggest the herbal bathing and the manual therapy with herbs for obesity patients according to the Sasang constitutional medicine. Methods In this study, first, we found the books, web sites and papers about bathing. And also we classified the herbs those are used each therapy according to the Sasang constitutional medicine theory. Results and Conclusions: We make good used of salts, sulfur or herbal agents inserted into a bath, when we are bathing. And we knew that "The Pinda manual therapy" is a therapy with medical herbs in the West. The Pinda manual therapy is a fomentation therapy with wrapped in cloth and steamed medical herbs. According to Sasang constitutional right to bath in each prescription were as follows. Taeeumin: Taeeumin Galgeunhaegi-tang. / Soyangin: Soyangin Hyeongbangpaedok-san. / Soeumin: Gunggwihyangso-san, Soeumin Kwakhyangjeonggi-san. / Taeyangin: Ogapijangchuk-tang. And also, by Sasang constitution, applicable herbs to the Pinda therapy were as follows. Taeeumin: Seokchangpo, Wonji, Gobon, Gamguk, Sokdan, Wiryeongseon.. / Soyangin: Hyeonggae, Bangpung, Bakha, Ganghwal, Dokhwal. / Soeumin: Kwakhyang, Soyeop, Danggwi, Cheongung, Sesin, Jinpi. / Taeyangin: Ogapi, Mokgwa, Nogeun, Gyomaek. It will be need to more study for effective clinical applications.

Objective : To research the trend of studies about anti-allergic response on Herbal Acupuncture therapy by analysing domestic theses, published after 2001, about Herbal Acupuncture therapy. Methods : I reviewed and analyzed domestic theses, published after 2001, mentioning anti-allergic response of Herbal Acupuncture therapy. And these theses were classified by university, year, field of study, subject. Results : In theses focusing on anti-allergic effect, there were some cases trying to prove remedial value of operating herbal acupuncture on acupuncture points, and cases trying to prove its effect on immunity.
